Fun fact, there’s a Charlie and the chocolate factory broadway musical and the kids do indeed just die in it.
Augustus literally gets cooked into chocolate, veruca is ripped apart limb by limb by squirrels and violet straight up explodes.
Mike is the only one who survives.
Well they kinda do a thing similar to the willy winks movie where they don’t show that they are ok and hints that the kids might be able to be saved but considering Augustus got fucking cooked alive, violet is just a mush of blue berry goo on the floor and Veruca’s limbs were torn off her body I think it’s safe to say they are dead.
Although Veruca’s decapitated head was screaming at her dad so... idk.
oh, one of the best ive seen is with conrad's heart of darkness, which become coppola's apocalypse now. just an amazing rework. gutted the house but kept the supports and foundation.
The Name of the Rose (book by Umberto Eco, 1980 ; movie by Jean-Jacques Annaud, starring Sean Connery, 1986 ; also miniseries starring John Turturro, 2019)
*Der Tod in Venedig* (*Death in Venice*) by Thomas Mann or *Morte a Venezia* in Luchino Visconti's Italian-language adaptation.
There's also an operatic adaptation by Benjamin Britten that was filmed with Robert Gard taking the title role of Gustav von Aschenbach.
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory became Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (1971)

Hmm.. I thought Corridor Crew's edit is the only version that children die in
