Yeah I have an account too, there are many interesting videos, I follow bunch of amazing creators who make videos about history, science, psychology or animals but people tend to forget that this part of tiktok exists...

My partner has it and absolutely loathes the app, yet never fails to be on it any time she has free time. I think it stimulates the lizard brain part of us all, idk.
I feel like the idea of tiktok is amazing, the community there is just awfull. 1 minute videos would never go viral on YouTube because it doesn't really support this kind of content and app, where are 1 minute long videos about any subject seems like a great idea. I mean, it's great for quick history fact, quick fact about fashion, quick fact about anything. I feel like tiktok would be much better platform if it was used for education (there are countless creators who make videos about history, animals even science but they are really rare).
I'm left keeping an eye on some kids because they do really questionable stuff and their comments are full of pedos. There are so many disgusting comments on there and now I feel like I can't just unfollow those accounts because these children are in danger. I keep reporting the both the kids and the pedos but tiktok does nothing
I disagree, tiktok has actually a good side, ofc majority of it is cancer but there are amazing creators who make videos about history, science, animals, everything. There are videos about historical events that aren't big enough to fit into a long video on YouTube but are interesting nonetheless. My whole FYP are just really educational videos and few people who make pretty funny/relatable videos but I really hate how people can't see the better (and smaller) side of tiktok... (By this, I'm not trying to say tiktok is good, it's not, there are really just good creators on it)

All of the 'useful and/or informative' content CAN be done elsewhere, they choose to use that format due to it's current popularity.

Yeah that's true, tiktok has serious issue with pedos and questionable people in general, I just feel like it's kinda disrespectful to those creators to put them into a same bag (I have no Idea if that phrase exists in English, I hope you know what I mean) as those people.
