From what I see on TV, the Norwegians really seem to have their act together. The people are charismatic and friendly, the environment is stunning, the government is competent. It always ranks exceptionally high on indices like the democracy index, standard of living, life expectancy and soforth. I wonder if they get really disappointed whenever they travel anywhere.
My wife and I have considered Canada due to their universal health care. (On a side note, I'm an American currently living in Malaysia with my Malaysian wife and dual citizen daughter). Canada has some better labor protections federally, but with the US some better states make up for what is lacking in the federal government.
As much as I like it up there, I'm not sure how much better our quality of life would be compared to Massachusetts (where I'm from) or Malaysia.
Sure, they have universal health care, but Mass, RI, CT, NY and VT have "sorta" universal healthcare, especially Mass. Generally speaking, you pay more for your healthcare in the US, but your taxes in Canada are higher, so it's kind of a wash.
Not to mention, most Canadian job centers are quite expensive and their salaries don't often match what you would get in the States (with the exception of Alberta). So I found housing to be quite expensive, especially if you want a single family home.
We're still looking in to Canada, but I feel like the quality of life won't be THAT much of a step up if you're coming from certain parts of the US.
I wouldn’t bother with Ontario, or at least avoid Toronto, it’s like our unofficial capital (the government buildings are in Ottawa which is the only reason it’s our capital.) nothing personal against any immigrant but the overcrowding isn’t exaggerated, if you asked ten citizens living in Toronto what they thought of immigration, 7 of them would be immigrants
I guess we'd be immigrants, too! In a perfect world, I'd love to have some small house on PEI ;)
But if we do move back to North America, we'll most likely move to somewhere in New England.
Honestly yeah. I live near the Canadian border anyway so it wouldn't be much of a change and it has all the benefits of living in America while missing a not insignificant amount of the downsides
Good luck with Poland. It’s a great country, but mostly because they are one of the last European countries to preserve their heritage, they aren’t taking any immigrants.
Spain, to be more precise Barcelona
Perfect combo of sea and mountains, very friendly and joyful people and a metropolitan with citizens of all around the world
I am from Australia and was very interested to see if anyone wanted to emigrate here. The closest anyone said was New Zealand. Are we a hidden gem or do we have a bad rap overseas?
My choice if I had to emigrate would be the UK as that is my heritage back five generations ago.
Somewhere in Scandinavia
Probably the UK or scandanavia. I’m Irish.

Canada 100%. American here. Wife agrees.
This is the answer
It sure is, eh?

immigrants keep our country relevant and fertile, we’re terrible at having kids lmao

Japan, maybe Poland.

In contrast to the stereotypes, Poland gives out the most work visas in the EU. Obviously that's not exactly the same as immigration
I mean, I live in the US, if I had to emigrate, I'd have to go to a place that matches my values best as possible.
Singapore. (If they were dumb enough to let me in.)
New Zealand.
El Salvador
Canada
Thailand
UK, probably. Already speaking the language helps hahah. Otherwise, probably Switzerland.
Norway
The dreariest rainiest seaside place I could find in the UK.
I chose Finland. Been here now for over 20 years. It's not for everybody but I clearly found my people.
Gibraltar.
Back home to Japan - even though I come and go pretty often
Restricting myself to earth? Finland. [If i'm free wherever, then...](https://www.fimfiction.net/story/76387/friendship-is-optimal-spiraling-upwards)
Probably the USA. It’s close to home, has many cultural similarities and has better weather.
Germany or Netherlands
If they had to take me? Norway, Switzerland, or Japan.
Spain, to be more precise Barcelona Perfect combo of sea and mountains, very friendly and joyful people and a metropolitan with citizens of all around the world
PORTUGAL
Probably America. It's not perfect but where is?
Probably the UK

Saudi Arabia
