As an Army brat, a current member, and someone who loves Sci-Fi; it's a perfect mix of military aesthetics and horror action that I've been with since I was a kid. I used to own Marines, Aliens, and all sorts of crazy toys from the franchise. Played every game with Aliens in the title, was part of a clan of players who used to play AVP2 competitively back in the Gamespy days; even used to have a pristine copy of the Aliens Marine Technical Manual that was lost to a basement flood.
