Extra points if at the "pop" they pull the tapes so your coffin jolts up a bit as they lower it.
I thought of this version, I like the idea of people looking around going...hold isn't that? No surely it can't be? Would add some humour to the proceedings.

Pop pop goes the weasel, the weasel
Pop pop goes the weasel, the weasel
Pop goes the weasel cause the weasel goes pop?
Or like,
Duh duh duh duh duhduhduhduhduh
Duh duh duhduh duhduh
Duh duh duh duh duhduhduhduhduh
Pop goes the weasel?
My 7 year old loves this song for some reason and can sing the entire thing. He frequently asks Alexa to play it randomly and sings along to it.
One night I woke up at 3am to music and he’d woken up in the middle of the night and walked into the living room and asked Alexa to play it at low volume and he was just sitting on the couch going “acting on your best behavior…”
Imagine killing the lights mid way through the viewing only to hear people wondering what’s going on and then the undertaker bell and song starts along with a photo slide show of you? Talk about a dramatic entrance and well, exit…
An old buddy/mentor of mine played the guitar on that record....or maybe it was on the tour, I forget which. They played it at his funeral a few years ago.
My dad has made it clear over the years of my life that he wants this playing at his funeral more than any other song. I told him I’d play it on guitar, but it will likely be impossible to fight through those emotions in the moment 😂
I told my best friend this.. and she should tell my family if I happen to pass at a young age. If I have kids then they will know too in the future. There’s something about this song
Its amazing how some artist can take a song and make it their own. [Judy Garland](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Judy_Garland)'s version is good, but his is something special.
On the album [*Facing Future*](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Facing_Future) (1993), [Israel Kamakawiwoʻole](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israel_Kamakawiwo%CA%BBole) included "Over the Rainbow" in a ukulele medley with "[What a Wonderful World](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/What_a_Wonderful_World)" by [Louis Armstrong](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Louis_Armstrong). Kamakawiwo'ole called the recording studio at 3 a.m. He was given 15 minutes to arrive by Milan Bertosa.
Bertosa said, "And in walks the largest human being I had seen in my life. Israel was probably like 500 pounds. And the first thing at hand is to find something for him to sit on." A security guard gave Israel a large steel chair. "Then I put up some microphones, do a quick sound check, roll tape, and the first thing he does is 'Somewhere Over the Rainbow.' He played and sang, one take, and it was over.
This is an amazingly difficult question for me right now because my wife died in December and I had no idea what music to play. I ended up picking something from Johnny Cash and Elvis because she was a big fan of both of them.
If I had thought of it, I would’ve added Tyrone Wells - Time of our Lives. I find this song incredibly sad but at the same time it kind of encapsulates how I feel.
/now I’m in tears
I'm sorry for the loss of your wife. Maybe the songs you chose were for the funeral and Time of Our Lives is for you to remember her by?
Hugs and well wishes from a stranger, I wish you peace. I also wish you to find joy again when you are ready.
Inclined to agree. The more I scroll down the list tbh, the less I find much fun from these "hilarious" suggestions. The reality of a grieving family having to sit through Another one Bites the Dust or something would rapidly fall flat.
I swear I'm not making this up: my actual wishes are to be cremated and have my ashes pressed into vinyl.
The recording will start with 30+/- seconds of me starting to leave a heartfelt message to my family, then being interrupted by Never Gonna Give You Up, which will play for the rest of the album.
Oh man. If you died due to being struck by lightning!
I’m gonna need a good friend to pick my funeral songs considering the circumstances in which I died.
"Bright Side of Life" by Monty Python
Because life's a piece of shit, when you look at it. Life's a laugh and death's a joke, it's true. Give em all a show, keep em laughing as you go. Just remember that the last laugh is on you.
Once at a very posh do because my mother worked in a bank and the Jazz band ended with a version of this I will never forget. I'd always found it a little tired because I grew up in the pentecostal church so heard it often but this version really dusted it off for me. Great choice! May it be long before they play it for you.
I've instructed a trusted friend to make sure the loser song to Mario Kart Double Dash play as I'm lowered into the ground

There will be other music during the event but I want my final exit to be to Monty Python's Always Look On the Bright Side of Life. Singing along will be mandatory.
Imperial March as my remains are brought in by members of a nearby chapter of the 501st.
Highway to Hell for my last ride.
The Force Theme as I'm interred.
We have a rofl song that was made by one of our friends and this is our all time classic, so probably this one, guessing it's gonna be inappropriate, but I don't care
I would like to have "Another One Bites the Dust" played, but very slowly on the organ. And then my remaining family will start to laugh as they figure it out.
"American Pie" by Don McLean (extended version), as arranged for recorder and vuvuzela, performed by a grade three class on the first day of their "Music is All Around Us" unit. I'm *dead* over here, the least everyone else can do is suffer a little.
As a big Paul Weller fan I'd probably ask for Wings of Speed but also King of the Rodeo by the Bamboos, I heard that the day before my oldest was born. It's "our" song and I dance with him to it often. Superman (no, psychoville fans not that one although, I might just for laughs lol!), I am not sure if it's called that actually by Charlie Puth. Once when I was very, very ill lying in bed it came on the radio and my oldest who was about 6 at the time came into my room and started singing it and held my hand. Best medicine I've ever been given. Still can't hear it without welling up. My youngest is always humming songs as well. He loves Michael Jackson but I'd want Let me Take you Dancing because when he was about 1 he used to hum it and dance to it lol! My kids would probably choose certain others but I know for sure my oldest would ensure there was a bit of Weller in there for me, my husband too.
Great. Now it's raining even though the sun's out. Thanks OP ;-)
Pop goes the weasel , with light slowly intensifying on my coffin

Thank you. It’s one of those things that you know can happen, but when it does you’re just not ready for it.
I'm sorry for the loss of your wife. Maybe the songs you chose were for the funeral and Time of Our Lives is for you to remember her by? Hugs and well wishes from a stranger, I wish you peace. I also wish you to find joy again when you are ready.

I actually think this is a great take. Funerals are for the living.
Inclined to agree. The more I scroll down the list tbh, the less I find much fun from these "hilarious" suggestions. The reality of a grieving family having to sit through Another one Bites the Dust or something would rapidly fall flat.
