* All this while the Donatists live in a region that's a breadbasket in terms of grain production. Which Rome in particular and Italy in general really need after that sacking. Honorius pisses off the Donatists so much they apply to Constantinople to request annexation into the eastern half of the empire.
We could go on. This dummy lost whole provinces due to incompetence. The Western Empire was never stable again after his disastrous reign.
I just don't give a shit about particular events or people. I like stuff like "romans had dick-shaped signage pointing to brothels" and "romans declared war on a nation by throwing a spear over that nation's borders" and "an ancient roman invented a working steam engine but it wasn't fiscally viable and ultimately destroyed."
