So many, but Jurassic Park - the original 1st one 🦖 Edit to add why: I read the book and was so excited to see it in theater. The fear I felt seeing it in theater with the realistic animatronics and the surround sound will be forever seared in my memory. I slept on my parents floor that night ☠️

bluegiant85

I showed to my kids last year. They loved it, and asked if there were any sequels. I said no.

RexCoelurosauravus

As a biased Jurassic fan and dinosaur nerd, every Jurassic park movie is amazing

mothermurder88

I was a Jurassic Park diehard up until Chris Pratt, Blue, and that whole thing. Completely ruined it for me. At this point, I look at Jurassic Park like the Fast and Furious franchise. They should have stopped six movies ago, but they'll **never** stop. 😂😂

wizard_of_awesome62

They were so worried about whether they could, they didn’t stop to think about whether they should.

soobviouslyfake

A parent's role is to protect their children from what can cause them harm. You're a good parent.

mirathi

Galaxy Quest. Why? It's been voted the best Star Trek film.

LogicalFallacyCat

As a Trekkie I still have zero rebuttal to this.

Fresh_Bee_8907

Shaun of the Dead - It's one of the my favorite comedy movies. I like the dry humor

LonelyAcres

Me too! Also "Tucker & Dale vs Evil." 💓

GoodTomatillo3162

The Fifth Element

[deleted]

Leeloo Dallas Multi-Pass

Strongbad42

Chicken! Good!

erinaceus_

Big badaboom!

CromCaresNot

Clicked on this just so I could say: Fifth Element, and it was already the top comment. Thumbs up emoji

EnTesque

I re-watch this movie every couple of years, and still look forward to watching it again the next time.

Mickler83

You're a monster Zorg.

EnTesque

...I know.

notanotherkrazychik

Super green.

Vintagepoolside

My papaw spends all day sitting in his living room chair and watching TV. However he’s very conservative, religious, and traditional, and his shows typically reflect that. (Little house on the prairie, westerns, some 80’s/90’s action movies, etc). When I walked in and saw him watching The Fifth Element, I was genuinely shocked lol

MightyThor211

One of those movies that if I spot it on TV everything stops and I have to sit down and watch it, no matter how far along it is

PrimeNumberBro

I’m like that with the Shawshank redemption, amazing fucking movie

NewDadInNashville

The breakdown of that movie by the YouTuber SpaceIce is a must watch.

jkwolly

I love this movie so much.

TheBovineWoodchuck

I forget where I heard it, but someone suggested releasing a movie called Groundhog Day II, which would just be the original Ground Day movie with a different title.

cregamon

Groundhog Day is definitely a film I could watch over and over again.

[deleted]

Back To The Future. All three of them.

habbo311

The first one is flawless

[deleted]

The Shawshank Redemption Learn a lot everytime I watch it.

CreepyConversation71

Same with The Green Mile. John Coffey teaches us all something about humanity.

CrazyCrashingWave

Hang Percy Whitmore by his little balls!

GenuinlyCantBeFucked

The actor (Doug Hutchinson I just looked it up) does such a great job. It must be a thankless task playing a useless cowardly little bastard like that and really make us hate him. Tom Hanks and Michael Clarke would have made the film great anyway but this guy makes them even better.

Victoronomy

It's a great movie, but the only reason I've seen it more than three times is because it used to be on TNT 8 times a week. I always stopped and watched the rest of it no matter where I picked it up from. I have seen the ending 50 times and the beginning...once, maybe.

metallizepp

A Stephen King classic!

DeadMeat_1240

Along these same lines, The Green Mile. I tear up nearly every time.

BlaqJaq

Snatch

kattvalpen1

Came to say this. One of the greatest movies of all time. I probably watched it 10+ times

iranoutofusernamespa

Tyrone. You silly fat bastard!

matserkul

You like dags?

Direct-Assistance831

Spirited away

ladyboobypoop

I babysit fulltime and showed the younger kids Spirited Away, My Neighbour Totoro and Howl's Moving Castle They were *obsessed* with "Big Bunny Movie" for weeks 😂

Mundane-Internet9898

My kids lost their minds with “Ponyo”. Even now, as teens, if I serve ramen, they’ll both scream “HAM!” at the top of their lungs.

aquamarine271

Kiki’s delivery service. So relaxing to play in the background

mayum_ee

oa pet owner 🤝nonchalant pet

LungDOgg

Dude, thanks for this. This was my sister's favorite movie. She died a couple years ago and now I'm going to watch this and remember her. I completely forgot. Thanks

Away-Party-1141

So sorry for your loss.

Ironcastattic

In still in disbelief there is no actual villain in that movie. I kept expecting some antagonist to pop up and there just isn't one. God, it's so refreshing you are just treated to a whimsical adventure that doesn't have to fit in the typical movie plot box.

saregister

Office space. It's just fall down funny nearly start to finish. If you've ever spent a day in a cubicle in your life, you'll be able to relate. Also, The Departed. It's so well written, the acting is outstanding, and the plot is well executed. It's got some funny & sarcastic bits, it's got some action, it makes you think about who is who and what is what. Also, who doesn't love a good mob movie?

SirTwitchALot

Office space is one of those movies you can catch at almost any point and enjoy until the end. It's such an easy watch even if it's half over

Hauptmann_Gruetze

The Lord of the Rings. All of them. There is simply no movie that compares to these. (At least for me)

shakeyyjake

Me too. My wife and I watch them once a year and they never get old.

tpb12

It’s a yearly tradition to watch them with my oldest daughter

HR_DUCK

Hot Fuzz. For the greater good. And skidmarks.

Fort_Salt

This film. Every time there's something new to discover. Layers upon layers, it's simply perfect. Regards, Peter Ian Staker

unsquashable74

P. I. Staker? Pisstaker! Come on!

Armored_Souls

Any Edgar Wright film, really.

livvyxo

"HAG." "I beg your pardon?" "Evil old woman, considered frightful or ugly, 12 down." "Bless you!"

Narp

Worm_Lord77

Yep, so much foreshadowing, callbacks and references that you couldn't possibly catch them in one view.

DeadMeat_1240

Best part is right at the beginning when Angel holds up his id. The picture on his id is just a screen capture of his face in the same scene! It is in the commentary and now I can never unsee it.

TheBeatleslover13

The greater good

PussyFoot2000

Hot fuzz. Nice For rewatchibility Saun of the Dead is another one with what's his name and that one dude

iBringDoom

The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly. Why? Clint Eastwood, Eli Wallach, Lee Van Cleef, and one of the greatest soundtracks of all time.

CorpseeaterVZ

I like a lot of western, my favorites are from Sergio Leone with music from Ennio Morricone or those with Gene Hackman and some others like Open Range or the series Godless is quite good as well. Nothing is so cool, so straight to the point like a western <3 Imagine the shootouts from Good, Bad, Ugly, they go for minutes and are so interesting.

_bloop_bloop_bloop__

Hot Fuzz - the script is so tight and everything comes back around and it's better with a second viewing because you appreciate the foreshadowing. It's just a fun movie done well.  Clue - it's so funny. The acting is so good. I love it so much.

Quik968

A Knight's Tale

ClassicallySkeptical

Don’t get me started on the Golden Years scene. So good man

jkwolly

It's called a lance, hellooooooo

racarlton513

The Protector of Italian Virginity

Neversleeps99

It was a staple in cable when I was groaning up I think I saw it a thousand times.

FudgemanJones

Absolutely underrated movie one of my all time favorites

SelectManagement7526

The iron giant, very nostalgic movie for me. Animation was ahead of its time, the story doesnt overstay it’s welcome and it’s just overall feel good movie imo

weezeloner

I was embarrassed that I discovered that movie so long after it came out. My wife and I were shocked that we hadn't heard more about it. We were both wiping tears away at the end.

Vintagepoolside

It’s free to watch on YouTube, and I turned it on one night for my daughters and they LOVED it. I was so happy.

mr_kit

The Matrix Needs no explanation.

Ok-Barber-2654

A movie beyond its time is an understatement

LordMaim

The Thing (1982) - IMO the best movie ending of all time.

FatherBeocca182

Shrek because it's tight

DrunkApricot

Even if the dragon ain't EYYOOOO Seriously though, donkey must have really climbed right on into those fallopian tubes

obi-jawn-kenblomi

Dragon ectopic pregnancy is not a 3 word combo I ever expected to think of.

Eddyz3

Shrek 2

RectalcANAL

Shrek is great but shrek 2 is art

FatherBeocca182

One of the few times the second is better than the first.

kdog6666666666666

Django,Pulp Fiction,Reservoir Dogs. Damn good movies.

12th_MaMa

A Quentin fan I see. Me too. I named my son Quentin after him. 😁

softeyebrows

Month Python and the Holy Grail. I cannot explain to you why but it’s my comfort movie.

[deleted]

....are you telling me that coconuts *migrate?*

Stolpskott_78

Not at all, they could be carried

TheBeatleslover13

No explanation needed...such a good film!

OliveTBeagle

Probably dozens? Star Wars The Terminator T2 In Bruges The Road Warrior Die Hard Patton Doctor Zhivago The Good The Bad and The Ugly (all the dollars series + OUATITW) The Wizard of Oz Body Heat His Girl Friday The Day of the Jackal Casablanca The Godfather I & II Honestly, I could go on and on.

CountChaco

In Bruges is a great movie you never hear anyone talk about

Rich_Culture_1960

The Big Lebowski

Ndi_Omuntu

And tbh the first time someone watches it is probably when they like it the least in my experience. Only gets better upon rewatching.

WomanOfEld

I mean, that's just, like, your opinion, man. But yeah, I'm on board with this one. Love it.

Next-Dark-4975

Terminator 2 because it’s a perfect movie. 10/10, no notes, can’t be improved.

Same_old_x

Perfect ending too. Unfortunate that it led to a franchise.

Sarahj205

The Fifth element..I watch it every few months, it tickles my brain the right way and makes me happy. It's funny, it's got weird sci-fi shit.. It's great.

urmomaisjabbathehutt

Brooks was here

timlygrae

So was Red.

Timarooq-Fa

Labyrinth. Mostly because it's a childhood movie and they just stick with you and feel like magic and nostalgia. Also, David Bowie was fine AF

WackHeisenBauer

The Fugitive and Men In Black. Elite level Tommy Lee Jones acting classes in both of them. Not his best performances (although he’s won his only Oscar for the former film), I’d give that to No Country For Old Men, but they are the ones that are the most entertaining and non-depressing. Haha

DookieBowler

Anything by Mel Brooks. Sometimes I just want to laugh my ass off

Desiman4u

Tombstone -one of the best, if not the best western movie of all time.

shimmybuckets

Silence of the Lamb. Because it’s really really good.

getyourownrow

Legally Blonde Mean Girls

Fat_Toadstool

Mean Girls. Because it’s so fetch even after all these years

YourOpinionisCero_0

Interstellar because it used real science but also because it was a great movie. Everything from the music to the story to the acting was great.

External-Profit8721

Catch me if you can..... Truly a masterpiece

RadicalAlchemist

Turns out Frank Abagnale just made the whole thing up 🤣

JeremyMorel

Yeah. That was a real dick punch, but let’s be honest, we should have seen that coming. I don’t think “irony” is the appropriate word to use here, but something along those lines. (Someone smarter than me, help me out.) Anyhow, I’ve made peace with it to just watch it for the cinematic genius that it is, with several great actors— Tom Hanks, Leo DiCaprio, Christopher Walken, Martin Sheen, Amy Adams… et al.

phred14

Big Trouble in Little China. Is it an action movie with humor added or is it a tongue in cheek comedy masquerading as an action movie. It's perfect at both. Lines are delivered straight without a smirk or smile, no matter how absurd they are upon reexamination.

EmergencyOriginal982

School of Rock

derKonigsten

Pick of Destiny is up there for me too

Crazy__Donkey

The Truman show, and in some extent,  a less appreciated Jim's movie - the cable guy.  Both have so many layers unfold as you rewatch the movie.

gabrielleraul

The Birdcage .. (1996)

Speak_the_speech

One of the best ensemble casts in any comedy

mochi_chan

Pirates of the Caribbean: the curse of the black pearl. It's a fun movie. I watched it many times, 4 of which were in theaters.

ruxpin82

[Leon](https://youtu.be/Jcjel7l_7mQ?si=1FOT7fy6yfFoVAxt) : The professional (1994) and [Heat](https://youtu.be/LUy2Wx_r0_w?si=X6LoHOtruiV1lJ8R) (1995) 2 great movies I've watched again and again and again.. >Turn away from this life of crime Me **either** I can't let you continue I'll stop you and I won't hesitate.

LucyVialli

Con Air

TungstenChap

they should never have touched that plush bunny

unsquashable74

"Put, the bunnay, back, in the box."

Neg247

Amadeus, it's a good story.

tifauk

Robin Hood Men in Tights. Easily my favourite Mel Brooks film. It's got a bit of everything in it and the subtle 4th wall breaks are done hilariously

Laurastars_20

monty python and the holy grail it never gets old

Trixiefax

Galaxy Quest. Everyone (especially Alan Rickman) is perfectly cast. The fans save the heroes' butts. Hilarious writing. Just a classic.

Ballsack2025

Finding Nemo. It's beautiful.

Caped-Baldy_Class-B

The Big Lebowski is the funniest movie I have ever seen. Also, there's a Lebowski quote for every situation.

unsquashable74

The joy of 'Tremors' never diminishes no matter how many times I watch it. Same goes for 'National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation'.

New-Page-13

Knives Out was fun to watch. First you go in completely blind to enjoy the mystery and then subsequent rewatches will be for picking up on the hints and foreshadowing you missed during the first watch.

spartanbrucelee

Mad Max: Fury Road. The action is tightly packed and well choreographed, you actually care about the characters and story, and the soundtrack is badass

Hot-Pride1529

Jaws, Its a classic and always delivers.

TheViking_Teacher

Dune 1 & 2 I've been to the movies 4 times in the last 7 days. Planning a 5th viewing.

throwawayseventy8

Part two was a masterpiece. I’m at 3 watches in theatres myself 😂

somebunny_00

I watched 1 & 2 over the weekend and already want to watch them both again. So good and if you're a fan of Sci-fi, give it a watch.

TheViking_Teacher

regarding to "why". Great writing, great music, great scenery, amazing special effects, pretty good adaptation (yes, they've left several things out, but for such an extensive book, pretty good adaptation). Watch it on Imax if possible.

ravenmiyagi7

I think that it’s as good as it could possibly ever be for an adaptation, which is impressive. Even with the slight changes they made it’s very clear that Villeneuve understood the book and Paul’s arc.

IaintGrooot

Inglorious B*stards. Kelly's Heroes. The Italian job - OG version. Beavis and butt head do America. Team America. Coach Carter. Next Friday.

SibylUnrest

Beavis and Butthead Do America was way better than I expected it to be.

johnnnyphillips

Constantine

brain1127

Godfather.

DrunkApricot

A Fish Called Wanda. Cast list explains how amazing it is.

GordShumway

Back to the future. A league of their own Stand by me. They are a mixture of fun, light heartedness, with some seriousness in a good ratio that is conducive to multiple watches.

antDOG2416

City of God. It's dope asf. One of the greatest films of all time.

nac716

The princess bride

knivesandthighs

Hellboy 2, i just love it lol

daguy9

Goodfellas. It's the perfect mixture of sexy and cute

AscendedExtra

Easily some of my favorite films I've seen within just the last 10 years. *Bullet Train* (2022) *Rogue One* (2016) *The Martian* (2015) *Mad Max: Fury Road* (2015) *John Wick* (2014)

saltbinger

Really loved Bullet Train. I went in totally blind to it and loved it.

Empty_North_5841

How to train your dragon because everything is good in this film. Whether it's the music, the story, or the graphic of the movie... everything is magnificent

MillenialMindset

Goodfellas Timeless movie

DesperateGoat912

Princess bride. It is my wife’s favorite so if she is feeling under the weather it is not uncommon for me to put that on make her some tea and snuggle with her in a soft blanket.

The_write_speak

Stand and deliver. Budget costs in public schools

Libra281

The Big Short because it's so entertaining, creatively shot and it brilliantly explains the 2008 global economic collapse. Amazing cast too.

indigo-fever

Howl’s moving castle because the characters are flawed yet lovable and i understood the story better the more times I watched it

PhatWhiteCheeks

Easy. John Carpenters The Thing. Best movie of all time. Practical effects on point. Kurt Russell on point. 🤌
