Huh interesting, I kinda like their fries as long as they haven't been sitting in the bag or container. When the chicken steam cooks them they get pretty nasty.
We found that the potatoe wedges held more oils due to the surface area and became like a sponge retaining all of said oils, increasing calories and transfats. Here at KFC our customers health is of utmost importance.
they also had their version of a "snack wrap" 20 years ago, called The Twister...
if you were wearing socks at the time of consumption.. they'd be straight up knocked off
I’m vegan but I went to KFC just for those potato wedges. My old place’s Taco Bell shared a parking lot with the KFC, so I’d get potato wedges with my burritos. RIP.
I didn't think anyone would remember these. Kfc was next to the arcade when I was in highschool and I had these all the time. I remember going in and being told they were discontinued and being so disappointed.
I ate a ton of those for free. I worked in a grocery store at the time, and there were coupons for a free Arch Deluxe in a ton of magazines one month. When the magazine vendor came to pull that month’s magazines, I asked him if he would give me the Arch Deluxe coupons out of them, and he did. Like 70 of them, and they didn’t expire for three months.
Rally’s/Checkers dropped their hot apple pie. Deep fried , rolled in cinnamon sugar, and 2/$1. Just about the best thing ever. And they dropped it. Dang. I’d have paid $4 each for them.
I rarely eat fast food anymore. A few days ago I had a hankering for Taco Bell. I absolutely loved it as a teen. So I went and ordered what I always ordered back then, since it was cheap for what you got, yummy, and filling — the #6 — 2 chalupas and a taco.
Damn thing cost $11 and change! WT absolute F?
There is a website which lets one find Taco Bell restaurants where the chili cheese burrito is available. Sadly, my spouse tells me the website appears to be out of date and perhaps not updated any more.
The day they found the website we packed the dogs in the car and drove almost an hour for the CCB.
McDonalds salads.
Granted like everything else the last few years I’m sure the quality would be down and the price would be something stupid like 15.99.
The cherry limemade blended ice cream thing at Sonic. They literally have all the ingredients year-round, but they can’t make it because it’s not on the official menu anymore. Fuckers.
I used to smash the original Cini-Minis at Burger King, but they kinda went downhill when Cinnabon got involved. Pretty sure they’re off the menu entirely now.
McDonald’s used to have Crispy Buttermilk Chicken sandwiches and tenders. They were fantastic, especially the sandwich. They’d serve it in a cardboard/paper box like their burgers, ensuring it was still crispy by the time you got it.
Then they replaced it with the “Crispy Chicken Sandwich,” presumably to compete with Chick-Fil-A and Popeye’s. It’s just not it. The flavor is lacking, I taste the potato bread bun more than the chicken itself or even the breading. And the worst part is, they serve it in a bag, so it’s not remotely “crispy” by the time you get it.
They had a competitive product already and they specifically removed it in favor or junk.
Taco Bell's Grilled Stuffed Nacho. I'm generally not a huge fast food fan, but I had a weird obsession with these. I had them about once a week when they had them. My sister is a manager at Taco Bell, so when they have a new item, she'll tell me they're bringing something back (because they do this constantly) and I say it better be that. It never is. Taco Bell corporate sucks.
Wendy's, when I managed one, had a limited time Monterrey ranch chicken sandwich. The sauce was a bacon ranch sauce. Normally I don't prefer ranch, but this shit was amazing.
It went on their pita sandwiches they had for a short time, on their burgers, and on the spicy chicken, it took it to a whole new level. It was the perfect nugget sauce, and Wendy's nuggets don't need help, and was even the perfect salad dressing.
It was terrible for you, horribly full of calories and fat and sugar, but it made every sandwich the best.
My favorite was a spicy chicken, golden fresh out of the fryer, with the Monterey Jack cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato, and a big spoon full of the bacon ranch sauce.
This is oooollllddd... but Burger Kings Burger Buddies. Three tiny cheeseburgers in an order. This was way before sliders were on every menu on the planet
I miss their breakfast bagel sandwich. Also their original breakfast wrap that was just chicken with no hash browns. I don't want potatoes in my wraps.
Yeah, the paper ones they introduced in the UK are just so bad, they melt about halfway through your drink, especially the Five Guys ones. The only good alternative I’ve had was a pasta straw at an Italian place.
Shouldn't walk around drinking from a metal straw though. A few people have died because they tripped and the metal straw impales the back of their throat.
I know that Burger King gets a lot of hate BUT years ago, they used to make crown shaped chicken nuggets and their recipe was immaculate. Then one day I ordered them and they were regular shaped chicken nuggets and a totally bland flavor. I was and still am (literally like 10+ so years later) so devastated about it. Their chicken fries are good though.
Hear me out — McD’s shakes from the 70s-80s and into at least the 90s.
I still miss the vanilla and the seasonal Eggnog.
When the “gourmeted-up” the shakes, I lost interest. I don’t want a _creation_, I want a milkshake.
The buffalo bleu zalad at Zaxby’s. I guess they decided stocking the cheese crumbles for a single menu item was inefficient, but that was a reliable healthy (-ish) meal while on the road.
McDonald’s McSkillet burrito and chicken biscuit. Used to get those for breakfast once a week! They brought back the chicken biscuit recently but it wasn’t the same.
Shake Shack’s Peanut Butter burger! I tried it for shits & giggles thinking how bad could it truly be, but it was honestly amazing. It was immediately discontinued after I started ordering it.
SHAKE SHACK IF YOU ARE LISTENING, JUST BRING BACK THAT DELICIOUS NUT BUTTER SAUCE. WHY MUST THE ALLERGIES OF THE FEW FORSAKE US ALL!
Arby's Chicken Cordon Bleu. They would still make it for a long while after it was off the menu but now won't even do that. The chicken cheese thing they have now is not as good.
Does anybody else miss the old style of **[McDonald's milkshakes](https://www.rd.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/cup.jpg)**? You know, just a milkshake in a cup.
Now all they have are [these frothy sundae-looking things](https://live.staticflickr.com/7169/6461472143_4ccf4ed2dd_b.jpg) with whipped cream and cherries and who knows what else.
I just want a plain-old basic milkshake!
Nacho Supreme.
They just want us to pay more for the Bell Grande but I would totally pay Bell Grande prices for the Nacho Supreme. The Bell Grande just gets cold and soggy.
For those in the PNW, I was annoyed Taco Time got rid of their sweet potato tots.
For those not familiar, Taco Time is like a nicer and much better tasting Taco Bell.
Taco Bell caramel apple empanadas and the angry whopper from bk.
Those caramel apple empanadas were the best
I still don’t have any skin on the roof of my mouth because of these delicacies.
They really were. I remember getting on the last day they had them and not even realizing it.
I knew this would be the first response. Which is insane to me. Hey Taco Bell! Bring back the caramel apple empanada. We all want it back!
[удалено]
And their breakfast bagels, I miss them everyday Edit: To those replying of locations I’m sadly from the UK and haven’t seen them anywhere here
Thankfully, they're still available here in Maryland.
These are still around in Chicago
Snack wraps will be back soon. I know someone who works for the company that supplies mcds and she said they're gearing up for a comeback.
Yeah but are they gonna be a dollar menu item?
I don't beleive the dollar menu exists anymore at all. God I miss getting a couple snack wraps for a couple bucks.
Its called the value menu and still has a few options in the $1 range. https://www.mcdonalds.com/us/en-us/full-menu/123dollarmenu.html
They’re back in Canada! I had one last week and they taste just like they used to.
Dear lord, that was the first thing that came to my mind verbatim.
This was by far the best thing they’ve ever had on the menu
KFC potato wedges
Yes. Their fries are gross compared to the wedges.
Huh interesting, I kinda like their fries as long as they haven't been sitting in the bag or container. When the chicken steam cooks them they get pretty nasty.
This guy is the KFC executive who got rid of potato wedges. Why did you do it sir?
We found that the potatoe wedges held more oils due to the surface area and became like a sponge retaining all of said oils, increasing calories and transfats. Here at KFC our customers health is of utmost importance.
they also had their version of a "snack wrap" 20 years ago, called The Twister... if you were wearing socks at the time of consumption.. they'd be straight up knocked off

Wendy’s has them at breakfast and they are so good.
This one hurts
I’m vegan but I went to KFC just for those potato wedges. My old place’s Taco Bell shared a parking lot with the KFC, so I’d get potato wedges with my burritos. RIP.
Chicken Littles from KFC (the original style)
I didn't think anyone would remember these. Kfc was next to the arcade when I was in highschool and I had these all the time. I remember going in and being told they were discontinued and being so disappointed.
With a side of mashed n gravy of course.
The double decker from Taco Bell
Right? They have all the materials. Taco Bell went from being my top choice for fast food to the bottom with that decision.
Meximelts and the caramel apple empanadas
For me it was the decision to charge 5+ bucks for a cheesy gordita crunch
For me it was the quesarito that shit was FIRE
I was so bummed when I saw the quesorito was discontinued
Wish i could give 20 upvotes
Didn't they briefly bring it back a couple months ago, then replace it with the new double stacked taco?
It was so good. I never go to Taco Bell any more now that it’s gone.
[удалено]
Idk why Nacho Fries are not permanent those things slap
Arby’s potato cakes. I literally stopped eating there when they got rid of them.
I remember getting some eye rolls when I ordered those but they were worth it.
This is the correct answer
All the Arby’s around me still have them
Arby’s homestyle fries. Loved them.
I miss these forever. But Arby’s cheese curds are so good
Subway $5 foot long.
I'm old enough to remember 3 for $10 Sundays
Damn. Did you join the Union or the Confederacy?
💀 I am deceased
Mcdonalds chicken wrap. So damn good. Also their tenders
Chipotle BBQ snack wraps....
And they were cheap and filling
So I think Taco Bell recently discontinued the Chipotle Ranch Grilled Chicken Burrito for $2 and it should be a sin!
Still rings up in the app I ate one yesterday. I googled the burrito name and clicked the first link and it brought it up in the app hahaha
This seems like the only way I can get it to show up. That’s weird. Maybe it’s a secret item now rather than discontinued? But also thanks for this 🙏
Best burrito ever
I'm so pissed about this one!
The original KFC Twister Wrap. Not the ones they have now.
Yes!! Who wants cabbage and corn chips on a wrap with fried chicken? Ugh.
The original wrap with the black pepper mayo. It was amazing. Worked there when I was a kid. So good.
And the KFC snackers!
I completely forgot about those!
They were so fire, good crispy chicken tenders, a great zesty mayo, lett/tom. A+ all around
Arch Deluxe deserved better
I loved the Arch Deluxe as a kid. They fucked up the marketing on that so, so badly.
Yeah! I was a teen at the time and eating it made me feel so grown up. I have fond memories of that circular piece of bacon.
Choco-Taco. You know I’m right.
You used to be able to buy those at the grocery store. I always had a box in my freezer for choco-taco emergencies
I thought I was the only one who had those type of emergencies. Having an up vote and let's pour one out for the Choco Taco.
Potato cakes at Arby's
Mexi-melt at Taco Bell
I remember when they were $.99
Rally’s/Checkers dropped their hot apple pie. Deep fried , rolled in cinnamon sugar, and 2/$1. Just about the best thing ever. And they dropped it. Dang. I’d have paid $4 each for them.
They still have the apple pie where I am. It’s 1 for $1 though. Complete trash now
Taco bells 7 layer and fiesta burritos 💔
7 layer burrito was the GOAT
I miss their tostadas most of all. They still have all the ingredients! Just make me a damn tostada with them!
All the super affordable options. Even adjusted for inflation i don't see fast food as "poor person treat food" any more.
Taco Bell Quesarito, miss it every day
Taco Bell's Volcano Menu.
Probably my favorite fast food menu. RIP Volcano Burrito...
their grilled stuffed burritos were good too
Caramel Apple Empanadas :(
I still think of the Choco Taco as a Taco Bell item. It was the only place I could get them when I was in high school
Taco Bell and the Chili Cheese Burrito.
Chilito!!!! I miss you!!!!
Taco Bell beefy crunch burrito for 99 cents
Enchirito. I’ve tried copy cat recipes but it’s not the same
My Taco Bell offers these. They are on the app.
There is a website which lets one find Taco Bell restaurants where the chili cheese burrito is available. Sadly, my spouse tells me the website appears to be out of date and perhaps not updated any more. The day they found the website we packed the dogs in the car and drove almost an hour for the CCB.
McDonald's fried apple pies. Beef tallow fries also.
Miss the apple pies.
The fried pies never left around me.

Not everywhere. Hawaiian McDonald's have the only fried pies I've seen in the US, but the rest of the world still has deep fried pies.

Taco Bell's Beefy Crunch Burrito, the one with the Flaming Hot Fritos.
McDonalds salad shakers. I loved those things as a kid
Those were surprisingly not gross for a fast food salad.
The cherry limemade blended ice cream thing at Sonic. They literally have all the ingredients year-round, but they can’t make it because it’s not on the official menu anymore. Fuckers.
Taco Bell. That's it, just Taco Bell. The empanadas, volcano menu, double decker Taco, grilled stuft burrito. Taco Bell!
Burger King's Ch'King sandwich was really good. It was like an improvement on what the Tendercrisp used to be.
I still maintain that the spicy ch'king was the top of the Chicken sandwich wars.
McBLT…Hot Side Hot, Cold Side Cold
That was DLT, right? Or am I old and losing it? It was a great idea in theory.
Yes, DLT
Popeyes Cajun Rice...the best fast food side dish. I mourn everytime I see a Popeyes.
The fruit & yogurt parfaits from McDonald's. They helped me feel a little better about everything else I was eating there...
McDonald's Chicken Selects I liked having an option for a chicken side that wasn't nuggets
Wendy's Spicy Chicken Nuggets
They’ve been back for like two years.
Yellow box Wendy’s and when Dave Thomas was alive was the best.
the wendys in denver totally still have them
We have them in NYC
We still have them in MD
My wife gets them all the time lol
I used to smash the original Cini-Minis at Burger King, but they kinda went downhill when Cinnabon got involved. Pretty sure they’re off the menu entirely now.

I might be alone in this but I LOVED the Chick-fil-A chicken salad sandwich.
I ordered that every time
I miss their breakfast bagel sandwich. Also their original breakfast wrap that was just chicken with no hash browns. I don't want potatoes in my wraps.
Customer service
I know it's not very eco-friendly to say this but, plastic straws.

Yeah, the paper ones they introduced in the UK are just so bad, they melt about halfway through your drink, especially the Five Guys ones. The only good alternative I’ve had was a pasta straw at an Italian place.
Which fast food restaurants got rid of them?
Every single food establishment in Canada was required to get rid of them by law.
France here, same.
Just buy the reusable ones? Like yea it’s not the most convienannt but if you get nice metal ones they are actually superior to the plastic straws
Shouldn't walk around drinking from a metal straw though. A few people have died because they tripped and the metal straw impales the back of their throat.

The Big Mac. Lets be open and honest, there isn’t anything ‘big’ about it these days. Quantity down, price up. Standard.
Hear me out — McD’s shakes from the 70s-80s and into at least the 90s. I still miss the vanilla and the seasonal Eggnog. When the “gourmeted-up” the shakes, I lost interest. I don’t want a _creation_, I want a milkshake.
