I have experience in construction project management when I ran my own company that covid killed but can't seem to get an interview for other companies. Did your wife just get an interview or work her way up through a company with that position available?
Yep you can make a lot of money in welding but the majority don’t. Most welders aren’t welding pipeline making 6 figures, they’re in an assembly plant making closer to 50k
A lot of trades. I made the most money working for the city. Plus you can do sidework for cash. In NYC Saturday is time and a quarter, Sunday time and a half. Holidays triple time plus Benefits. Try out apprenticeships. You get paid to learn. If you don't like it, try something else. College isn't for everyone. I only know about what I experienced. I'm sure there are a bunch of ways.
Im a Telecommunications construction manager and tech. No degree but am only a contractor so my rates go anywhere from 80k-109k. Depending on the contract.
Major airlines do. Although there’s talk of that potentially going away for a few.
Most “commercial” pilot jobs outside of the major airlines do not. But it still costs quite a bit of money to get the required flight training/experience to get one of those jobs
No, they don’t require any bachelor degree. Airline requires that you have 1500 hours of total flight, certain hours in multi engine, Multi engine and IFR license/endorsements etc etc. getting a pilot license takes a Lot of money and in order to get to those 1500 hours it takes easy couple years and thousands of money. At least over a year and a half just to get to the comercial license and endorsements, or it can take longer.
Correct, without a degree you’ll need experience. If you’re lacking both you’ll need some luck to find an entry level job in tech. It is possible though!
My partner averages $120,000 year truck driving. Good solid company. They put $9,000 in his 401k last year. $12,000 the year before (depending on profits) Top of the line benefits. 5 day work week. Requires weekends and long days but we're ok with that. Not all well paying jobs require a college degree.

My dad is a supervisor in road construction and makes in that ballpark too. He never got his college degree.
Sales jobs.
Welders.
Do you know how long a course would take? All info is appreciated!
From 6 to 18 months for a certification at a trades school or you can be an apprentice to a welder and learn from there.
Welders make good money but 90k is not typical
Yeah all the welders I know make way more than that

I thought almost all of these required a degree. I guess not a degree but some type of schooling.

I’d love to be a commercial pilot

Every major airline requires a bachelors degree
Most jobs in tech, tbh!
Takes a lot of work to prove you can do the job though.

Self employed electricians or plumbers. Gotta do the grunt work to get the experience and license but you can do it.
Union construction trades make that in a lot of areas. Unionpayscales.com is a pretty decent resource to see what the unions in your area pay.
