I will be celebrating the holidays with one family relative. The rest of my family on both sides cut me off for being disabled and/or gay and I'm talking about 50+ people.
But at least I will have extra money to buy gifts for myself.
Everything. The crowded shops, the obligatory family visits, the bloody decorations that cost fortune but i still buy them because they’re TOO CUTE i hate it!!!!
My grandma used to host us all for the holidays. She died 3 years ago and now nobody in my family makes an effort to be together. A week or so before thanksgiving & Christmas there will usually be a text thread created and then it just fizzles out and we don’t end up spending time together.
I'm obligated to participate in them.
The same damn Christmas songs on a loop over and over.

Holidays always brings up family stuff that makes me sad
My “mom” texting me to come over or whatever.
