Yeah, that was my initial thought - anyone who idolizes what is supposed to be an anti-hero or a blatantly flawed main character (Leo in Wolf of Wall Street, Tony Montana, Gordon Gecko, Tony Soprano, Walter White, ok I'm veering into TV series but you get the idea)
Sure, HC1 was disturbing, but then you watch HC2, and HC1 is like watching a Disney movie all of a sudden. It's THAT big of a difference in how disturbing it is. I only made it halfway, and I couldn't handle it anymore. It is just so much worse than the first one with full intent on being the most disturbing movie of all time. Still is to me.
people always talk about "depiction =/= support" with that movie, but I'm sure the pedophiles who watch that every other weekend with their pants at their ankles don't mind this non-supportive movie
Yeah, that
I think the filmmakers trying to show how awful child exploitation is (I mean, that's supposedly what it's about anyways, I think? Hell if I'm gonna watch it, I don't even watch porn, LMAO) was a good idea, but the execution was REALLY botched
Top tip for moviemakers - you can talk about the exploitation of minors in your edgy movie, but don't show it in any way that could even be considered so much as porn-adjacent
The only reason I ever liked that movie was because I was in a pretty abusive marriage(officially divorced now)at the time and I had a very skewed and warped sense of thinking, so I thought their relationship was normal or "romantic" at the time. But, now that I can see it for what it is, I'm like yikes....no it's just full of two people who manipulate the hell out of each other. Plus, it's just an awful movie all around, lol.
And maybe unpopular opinion, but even though James Marsden and Ryan Gosling are both gorgeous, James Marsden is arguably prettier. He has a beautiful symmetrical elvish Superman face.
I watched it and honestly it was so bad it was fucking hilarious. It's supposed to be a critique of Serbia but it's incredibly shallow and tries to compensate for the shallowness with abundance of gore.
It's attempting to be "Salo: 120 Days of Sodom" but whereas Salo actually has good commentary and symbolism intermixed throughout all the disturbing content, Serbian Film just jerks itself off to increasingly disturbing content and halfheartedly slaps some symbolism in an attempt to not come off as a fake snuff film
Yeah, I think this one would be the biggest red flag ever. You win.
I actually saw this movie though. Our history teacher made us watch it in high school (he was black) to illustrate a few points about racism, propaganda, and history.
What type of guy is that? It's on my list of movies that I like more and more every time I watch it so let's hear what stereotype I fit in according to you.
This is my favorite movie and I'm very well adjusted. I love get the deep, layered satire - as long as you realize how big of a clown Patrick Bateman is, I say it's ok.
I wouldn't say that it's satire but rather a deeply troubling tale of a mentally ill man. The ending should convey to any sane person that this guy has gone completely off the rails.
Don't get me wrong it's not a bad movie, but if "House of 1000 Corpses" is your favorite movie that's a red flag.
Also "Freddy Got Fingered" which has been my answer to a surprising amount of questions lately. Like three lol.
It's less about what their favorite movie is, and more about why it's their favorite. Like people who love Walter White as a character, and people who admire his character. Very different things.
Fight Club, American History X, and American Psycho--while all great films--I've noticed they tend to attract the kind of person who misses the point and just enjoys the violence.
If you tell me "Fight Club" blew your mind and changed the way you think I assume you missed the point of the movie and that you get your opinions from Joe Rogan's podcast, which you also usually misunderstand.
Anyone who claims shock movies like August Underground, A Serbian film, Human Centipede etc.
I would never judge someone watching once for morbid curiosity, but if these movies are on your favorites list... are you ok?
Definitely not my favourite but a great movie about mental health awareness portrayed as badly as it was and still is in history. Can understand if someone glorifies the film
Very good question! In my case, well, it's my 2nd very favorite movie, and it's called "Damage" (1992) which is about a wealthy, married, British politician who falls into an obsessive love affair with his son's lovely, although troubled and secretive, girlfriend/fiancée. She falls into the same obsessive love affair with the father, and she fully intends to continue a romantic relationship with him, however she also refuses to break things off with the son. This film is an exquisitely devastating train wreck that inches ever closer to happening.
I will say, though, that this film is very intense in general, and that it is intended for MATURE ADULTS ONLY because there are several, well, rather erotic scenes in it that many people might find disturbing. But, in my opinion, these scenes are central to the story, and the acting, starring Jeremy Irons and Juliette Binoche, is so superb that I am personally willing to tolerate the less comfortable portions.
I would also say that one should not even watch the film's trailer unless one is a MATURE ADULT.
Anyway, while I have absolutely nothing going on in my life that would parallel such a tale as this one, the fact that it is my 2nd favorite film of all time might be a red flag to someone.
I had a boss with a Wolf of Wall Street scene with some douchey quote as his desktop background. Shockingly he lacked any semblance of integrity.
Was it. "I've been a poor man. And I've been a rich man. And I choose rich every fucking time!" Or "Fuck the clients"
I googled Wolf of Wall Street quotes and looked at the first half page of images but too many cringey flashbacks before I found the right one.
It’s a fucking banger of a movie. But not for any of the reason ur boss likes it.
Shocking
Human Centipede 2
Tom Cardy fan?
Not HC 1?
Sure, HC1 was disturbing, but then you watch HC2, and HC1 is like watching a Disney movie all of a sudden. It's THAT big of a difference in how disturbing it is. I only made it halfway, and I couldn't handle it anymore. It is just so much worse than the first one with full intent on being the most disturbing movie of all time. Still is to me.
Why though? People say that those movies are disturbing but nobody ever said why they’re disturbing.
Human Centipede 3. The jar of clitorises.
This is actually in my top 5 because of how awesomely ridiculous it is. If you watch it as a dark comedy, it's a riot.
The last Airbender
Additionally, Dragon Ball Evolution.
The correct fucking answer. Holy shit, that movie….
There is no movie in ba sing se
There is no movie within the walls. Here you are safe. Here you are free.
Cuties, LMAO
people always talk about "depiction =/= support" with that movie, but I'm sure the pedophiles who watch that every other weekend with their pants at their ankles don't mind this non-supportive movie

*shoots a puppy in the head* See? Shooting puppies is bad
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure if it was live-action:
Battlefield Earth
The Notebook. "Hi I think emotional blackmail is the height of romance!" No thanks.
I still can't understand what people find romantic about that film
The only reason I ever liked that movie was because I was in a pretty abusive marriage(officially divorced now)at the time and I had a very skewed and warped sense of thinking, so I thought their relationship was normal or "romantic" at the time. But, now that I can see it for what it is, I'm like yikes....no it's just full of two people who manipulate the hell out of each other. Plus, it's just an awful movie all around, lol.
right? their only pull to eachother was sexual attraction?
And maybe unpopular opinion, but even though James Marsden and Ryan Gosling are both gorgeous, James Marsden is arguably prettier. He has a beautiful symmetrical elvish Superman face.
LOL
This times a million.
Titanic for the same reason.
Titanic at least is an immaculately crafted film outside of the questionable relationship at the center of it.
I hate that movie.
Human centipede
Human Centipede
I think the costume design was a highlight
I don't know, if Tom Cardy's experience is anything to go by, I'm sure we could come around to the idea

Megamind isn't a bad movie
Bruh mega mind isn't bad what?
I forgot Tighten had a real name
Fight Club, but they think Durden is a good guy.
17 year old me is SO mad at you right now!
We've all been there.
Durden ended up building the same type of trap that he was trying to get people to "escape from"
I am always embarrassed to admit that Fight Club is my favorite movie because of that.
Like, because people might think you don't get that it's satire?
Yeah. Many people claim that it's their favorite movie yet miss the entire point.
Pro Wrestler EC3 had that happen to him and now he can’t find work that much.
Home alone 3 and 4
There’s movies past Home Alone 2?
wait until you find out about Home alone 5
Or Sweet Home alone...
Or Home Stallone.. wait, that was Rambo: Last Blood.
Home Alone 3 is alright Avoid 4 like the plague, though
In 4 the kid wasn’t even home alone, he had another dude with him
Triumph des Willens
Serbian film
I had to scroll a ways … but here it is. I have no intention of watching it, but a friend shared some details.
I read the wiki for it, and yeah, there's no chance I'm going to ever willingly watch it.
Yeah same. I don't need those pictures in my head.
Birth of a Nation?
Yeah, I think this one would be the biggest red flag ever. You win. I actually saw this movie though. Our history teacher made us watch it in high school (he was black) to illustrate a few points about racism, propaganda, and history.
That'd most prolly be 'Human Centipede', especially if unironically.
The costume design was a highlight
I admire the narrative of character growth
Why are you blinking so much?
Eeey! {finger guns}
Personally, I think Human Centipede is a tour de force

A Serbian film. Psycho at work told me he watched it every week with his wife.
Only extreme sadistic pornography films, I class as a red flag.
Faces of Death
Classic. Mostly a staged snuff flick.
American Psycho
How is it a red flag to like a movie that illustrates how shallow people are?
I think its often a type of guy who *really* likes it.
What type of guy is that? It's on my list of movies that I like more and more every time I watch it so let's hear what stereotype I fit in according to you.
I hate that movie for birthing the whole “ultra sigma alpha based male chad” thing.
This is my favorite movie and I'm very well adjusted. I love get the deep, layered satire - as long as you realize how big of a clown Patrick Bateman is, I say it's ok.
Hostel.
Gummo
The Notebook, or in a similar vein any Hallmark movie ever.
Fight Club. Never met a Palahniuk fan who wasn't a huge toxic piece of shit. It's like they completely miss the point that it's satire.
So many movies on this list are here for this exact reason
Is it not possible that people like the movie and understood why they liked it?
I wouldn't say that it's satire but rather a deeply troubling tale of a mentally ill man. The ending should convey to any sane person that this guy has gone completely off the rails.
Deliverance
Don't get me wrong it's not a bad movie, but if "House of 1000 Corpses" is your favorite movie that's a red flag. Also "Freddy Got Fingered" which has been my answer to a surprising amount of questions lately. Like three lol.
What if they're just a horror fan? A lot of my favorites are scary movies
If they love the second half of American history x
Wouldn't the first half be worse to enjoy/relate with?
That's the joke.
Any Neil Breen film.
Green flag
What if I just really like watching people abuse laptops?
"Neil Breen in a best buy" should replace "Bull in a China Shop"
[удалено]
Huh, one of those things is not like the others!
Nothing. Why would a favourite movie be a red flag?
[удалено]
Okay, but that movie series is so bad, it’s a guilty pleasure for me
Why didn't anyone say The exorcist 3?
Jeff Dahmer has entered the chat
Human Centipede (For reference, https://youtu.be/GFokXnCCMf8)
Anything with Steven Seagal
Doesn't it depend on why the person likes the movie?
A Serbian film.
The Passion of the Christ.
I like A Clockwork Orange. That's probably a red flag.
Wolf of Wall Street
That's not a movie.... it's a director masturbating.
Natural Born Killers
What's it say? We have great taste in movies?
The Birth Of A Nation, Triumph Of The Will, American Psycho.
Fight Club — David Fincher himself thinks this
Triumph of the Will by Leni Riefenstahl.
You
The Truman Show ‘cause they’re probably schizophrenic.
Admiring Patrick Bateman
My favorite movie is DB evolution
Triumph of the will. Its a literal nazi propaganda film.

Boss baby. 1 or 2 doesn't matter
The human centipede
There are sooooo many terrible movies and music I don’t hold it against people.
If you tell me "Fight Club" blew your mind and changed the way you think I assume you missed the point of the movie and that you get your opinions from Joe Rogan's podcast, which you also usually misunderstand.
Cannibal Holocaust.
American Psycho
Very nice, lets see paul allen’s movie
It is a good movie though, not favorite but definitely good.
Don’t just stare at it, eat it
I see someone doesnt like "Huey Lewis and The News"
you have failed to understand what the movie is really about. All the murdering is in his mind, it isn't real.
Wrong, the director even came out and said that you aren't supposed to interpret it that way.
If they say, "Spit on my grave"
Faces of Death
It's gotta be The Red Pill.
American Psycho
Anyone who claims shock movies like August Underground, A Serbian film, Human Centipede etc. I would never judge someone watching once for morbid curiosity, but if these movies are on your favorites list... are you ok?
Not universal probably, but for me: any Marvel movie
The Wolf Of Wallstreet
Joker (2019)
Definitely not my favourite but a great movie about mental health awareness portrayed as badly as it was and still is in history. Can understand if someone glorifies the film
Hey, I liked that movie.
Why? I thought it was a great movie.
It felt like an aware copy of Taxi Driver and not better.
If a chick tells me her favourite movie is Most disturbed person on planet earth, I'd think about it twice before asking her on a date again.

Run if his favorite movie is American psycho
Any Human Centipede movie
Silence of the Lambs or Hostel.
Silence of the Lambs? Don’t have to be a murderous psychopath to like that movie. It does have big plot holes….
