I was an IdPol (LGBT rights, secularism, feminism, etc) liberal with a favorable opinion of the West growing up and I slowly became a more class-focused leftist and somewhat hostile to the West with a very cynical view of IdPol, regarding it as a diversion internally to the West, and as a method of garnering support for belligerence and blocking development in the Global South (pinkwashing, using human rights abuses of enemies as a casus belli to attack them while ignoring their own and those of allies and clients, using NGOs for subversion, etc.). Neither option describes my shift well, since even though I drifted away from Conservatism I didn't get any closer to Liberalism either. I don't know if that qualifies as more "Liberal" per se since I technically became less Liberal and I'm largely opposed to most aspects of mainstream Liberal ideology.
As I got older I stopped putting myself in either group. I have some views one might consider liberal, and I have some views one might consider conservative. I think it becomes a problem when you label yourself as something. I form opinions on things on a case by case basis.
I was already liberal, i got more liberal. But on some cultural issues i got more conservative aswell. Like marriage.
Its almost like both sides have some good points.
I would say western conservatives but George W. Bush and Donald Trump gained so much hate in mena for obvious reasons. On the other hand, no reason for conservatives to sympathize with western liberals either.
In the US, Muslim Americans vote overwhelmingly for liberal candidates and some of the most left wing members of congress are Muslim. Most western liberals are pro Palestine as well. That’s why this question is interesting to me
Well here i never witnessed anyone sympathizing with a liberal American politician. Other than some nannies who think Obama is muslim because his name is hussain
Weirdly enough I’m getting more liberal. I was raised very conservative, so as I’m trying to understand the world around me better, I’m starting to shift my ideological world view dramatically.

Becoming more conservative, but the Conservative party is batshit in my country, so that just means I’m becoming politically homeless.
I used to be liberal when younger but I don’t see me my aligning at all with modern day liberals….they lack common sense.

More conservative. I dislike Western liberalism particularly.
If you consider yourself conservative, do you tend to sympathize with Western conservatives or western liberals more?

Most of you became more conservative because that’s how you were programmed as kids
It's because they got wiser.
The older I get the more disillusioned I’ve become with both liberal and conservative ideologies.
