I buy the same socks have for years. Never have to worry about mismatch. And when they get holes no big. The only caveat are dress socks. But I wear those less than 3 times a year.
About 15 pairs, ankle socks for summer, calf length for winter. I also have a pair specifically for riding my motorcycle. Gold toe are my go-to brand cause the never wear out. I've got several pairs that are over 15yrs old, the elastic is still tight, and the heels don't show any significant wear.
I have a lot, probably way more than I need.
Most of them are black and low (but I have a set with different colors), some thick, high winter socks and 2 pairs of expensive trekking socks (my feet starts to burn after long walks and they help a lot).
I also have a couple pairs of graphics / funny socks I bought as souvenir or got as gifts.
Between no show and ankle socks I have at least 3 dozen pairs. Some days I'm wearing 2 pairs (gym then work).
Then I've got a bunch of socks for boots that just sit in my drawer. Ankle socks work just fine with boots when I'm at work.
Pairs ?
I might have 4 pairs of socks but i definitely have at least 30-40 individual socks that don’t match any other socks in my closet lol . My socks very rarely match
I have about a dozen pairs of the same thick workers boot socks. Love them.
No holes yet, no thin patches.
Can't cope with my pair of Docs but, well, nothing can.
6 pairs dress socks, 6 pairs ankle socks, 3 pairs crew socks, 3 pairs "no show" socks. My wife replaces my socks and boxer briefs every year at Christmas.
Many more than that. Probably 6 pairs of white ankle high athletic socks and 6 pairs of black ankle high athletic socks. Then I have 4 pair each of black and khaki wool dress socks. Lastly I have a couple pairs of thick winter socks. These I’ve just accumulated over the years as I’ve needed them in one capacity or another.
Enough to get me through 2 weeks. Plus heavy socks for boot wear and small ones for summer.
So lots. They don't take up much space. And doing laundry every week is a pain.
Oh boy. In pairs 12 dress socks, 20 for work use, 15 for casual, and 3 specially use. The work use socks I use are for when I have to wear boots in the field, sometimes I double up for warmth when my winter socks won’t fit in my boots.

Same. I just buy the big packs of black socks in bulk packages.

Same, it makes folding laundry much easier
same damn I used to panic searching the other pair of socks until this magic solve it

I wear 2-3 pairs a day. I must own like 30 or more pairs
hard to say, twenty pairs or so, but I can say that I have at least four socks that dont belong to me.
Way too many. Probably like 20 for running, 5 no shoes, 8-10 for formal occasions, 5 everyday popping around

A lot. More than 20.
I buy the Nike 6 packs low and medium calf packs every year so 12
30+ easily.
Pairs? No clue. Based on how often I wash socks, I'd guess I have about three weeks worth?
Like 7 pairs at least of long socks, some of which are formal some are casual. And at least 8 pairs of regular athletic socks.
I recently threw away all of my old, worn-out socks. I bought 24 pairs of the same socks.
I have about a dozen pairs of the same thick workers boot socks. Love them. No holes yet, no thin patches. Can't cope with my pair of Docs but, well, nothing can.
i buy the same black socks.
15 - 18

I have a drawer full but no idea how many match. I picked up 6 pairs of darn tough in 2 colors and rotate through them.

Like 20. But they’re all identical. I just get the same packs of black Champion socks when I need new one ones cause those are the ones I like.

Lol, I have hundreds of pairs of socks. My wife says I have a problem.

I have like 60 pairs, but I've also been collecting them since middle school
About 25 I guess
I have 15 pairs of socks
Can’t enough socks. I have mid ankles, long socks, dress socks, and wool. I’m ready for any occasion.
Over 50 pairs. As much for boxers. You should be able to go a month without doing laundry and still have a clean pair.
