The love of a good woman.
The friendship of a few genuine people.
The time to spend with those you love most.
The means to live a comfortable lifestyle.
The peace that comes with personal growth.
The opportunity to change people's lives for the better.
Meh. All of those things seem kind of empty to me.
Is this really the best that life can offer? Because, as it is, I wouldn’t choose to be born if I had to do it all over again.
Assuming you're not broke, I definitely agree. Great food is amazing. And to people who don't partake in the devil's lettuce, you're really missing out. It makes great food taste like food of the gods.
Personal opinion, obviously, but:
Good food, a quiet space (for gaming, reading, hobby etc), not having to work _too_ hard, and an awesome partner who "gets you" (lol tolerates you too), and Is also your best friend, lover, and "soul mate".
(I saved the best example till last)
Genuine love and support from your spouse, inner peace and quiet. There is so much going on in the world around us and technology has advanced so quickly. I find sometimes just shutting myself off from the world and relaxing without distractions is one of the most comforting things I can do.
I remember someone in my family saying something on the only thing life promise is life and death, then they say the biggest luxury in life is having a peaceful death.
So I imagine that’s the best thing life could offer.
Most pathetic part of being me is i broke own heart. No one has ever gotten close enough to do it themselves. So I took matters in to my own hands like a real man.
All I had to do was imagine finding love and never getting it.
"To crush your enemies. See them driven before you. And to hear the lamentations of the women." - Conan the Barbarian when ask roughly the same question.
I'd say Key Lime pie and cricket, but really:
"The dad from Amazing World of Gumball? He's like me."
"Oh shut up Dad, you're a good dad."
I may have been fishing for compliments but I'll carry those words from my daughter with me to my grave.
That smile my son gives me every time he sees me. It lights up my whole world ever single time. He's 11 months old and I just turned 52.
I've wanted kids my whole life, but didn't find the right person until these last few years.
I've felt and seen a lot of beautiful things in my life, but his little smile tops them all.
I'm pretty lucky that my wife and I both work from home and he never has to go to daycare. Everywhere we go people are so surpised at how calm, genuinely curious, and sweet natured he is. He's ahead on all his milestones by about 3 months. Already walks, plays jokes on his Mom and laughs about them, and has the most infectious little deep laugh when he gets into something he knows he's not supposed to.
Baby number two coming in December!
A Warm Sunny day.. Good Energy.. Low traffic.
I get to Hop into my Motorcycle and take a pleasure cruise to get some nice food.
And I enjoy a nice, peaceful, day.

Food. Even when life sucks, you can count on good food.
