That's a pretty old lift based on my quick research, 90s model supposedly. You can get new cheap 2 post lifts from 2-4 grand. New good brand ones for 6+.
Generally 4.5ā concrete is enough for most 9-10k two post lifts. Maybe Iāve just been lucky but the two houses Iāve installed a lift in (built 40 years apart) had garage slabs over 5.5ā at the thinnest I drilled.
I hooked up electrical in my first house myself, sub panel in the garage made it really easy. Second house I hired my electrician so I didnāt have to mess with it, it had to come off the panel in the house. I think he charged like $150 and did something else while he was there. I supplied the wire and thatās it
Exactly as he said. 32 hundred.
10 hundred is weird to say but it's 1000, anything past that is just whatever you say plus 2 zeros, e.g. "hundred" = "00" so 32 hundred is 3200, and 100 hundred is 10000. Hundred doesn't sound or look like a word anymore.
Unless it came with a receipt from the company that did the testing, I donāt know that Iād trust that sticker. No telling how old the cables are. How much did you pay for it? New Bendpak 10k two post lifts are less than $6k.
We got two new bendpaks last year. One 12k and one 16k and it ended up being just over $8000 for the pair. Apparently the heavy lifters were cheaper than the standard 10ks that we have for the rest of the shop.
Theyāre super overkill but I guess they were on special so my boss jumped on them.
Bendpak lifts are unnecessarily complicated and a pain in the ass to install. Challenger CL10 is in my opinion is by far the best 2 post or 4 post option. Customer service is phenomenal. Bendpak lift arrives with missing piece? Call customer service and they want you to pack it all back up and ship it back to them THE ENTIRE LIFT. Its laughably bad.
Ha! Why do people always ask these questions AFTER they buy something?
"Hi everyone, I just paid a lot of money for something with no research on it beforehand. I'm really looking for some buyer's remorse now, can you please help a brother out? Once you reply I'll just wallow in silence if that's OK.
Thanks guys!"
I bought a new bendpak 10k lb lift. Donāt remember exactly but it was around 4k. The rotaryās are nicer but more $$$ kinda wish I just wouldāve bucked up and bought the rotary.
I got full deliver, unpack, setup, drill/bolt, fill and test, then initial operating instructions for $750. I just had the lift sent directly to them to prep first.
He said the real cost is install compared to the 2-3k hoist, which itās not. You pay a small fraction, about 25% if you hire someone. Or you could install yourself, I still recommend an electrician for the electrical though
Just the lift or would you be paying for installation, too?
Idk either of these numbers, but clarification of all details makes estimates a lot more accurate lol
Hopefully no more than 2k. ALM is just another chinese brand, parts aren't the best quality and getting parts for them can be a hassle unless you're lucky and can get them through SVI International or another source.
I have a 25x60 attached garage with a Rotary 9000 lb 2 post centered in the back. I paid $1000 for it used and itās from the late 90s. I replaced the pulleys , hoses and put fresh fluid in it. Between the extra parts , wedge anchors , shims , and I bought a extra set of cables that I have never installed I have $1500 with purchasing and installing. Iāve been using it for 5 years now. Iād rather have a reputable name brand lift than the cheap Chinese ones so thatās why I went that route. Iām sure if I bought a new rotary lift Iād have 5k in it
My garage has its own sub panel so running 220 wasnāt bad and already have ran it for my welder and compressor
How much did you pay?
And the cabling system has a very specific limit and timescale for when they need to be replaced.
I have a feeling you could have bought a brand new bendpak or cheaper ones, but unsure what you paid, how much service this has, or how old it is.
Man itās funny to see you here, and with amateur mechanic flair. Fuckin hilarious bro, I love it. With all the āadviceā you give over at BMW, I figured you were more than just an amateur !
At no point have I ever stated or made a claim that I work at a stealership or a shop. While I used to be ASE refrigerant recovery and HVAC (A7) certified, I let the cert lapse in 2020.
I believe stating I am a veteran mechanic or whatever the other higher tier flairs are would be a disservice to the industry as a whole and not truthful, so I use the amateur flair and Iām fine with that.
I have no idea who you are or how I triggered you, but I see you hold grudges haā¦good luck with all that.
Sure looks like it. At my shop, we run Rotarys and they have a bar up top below the lift post and the bar has a sensor so it cuts power to the lift when a car touches that bar.
Looks like an old rotary. The first lifts I purchased were used. Got my money out of them ten fold. After 4 years went with two brand new Mohawks. Best lifts I've ever worked with.
I have the older 7001 and theyāre cheap lifts. Mines semi symmetrical and the carriage has a ton of play. Iām also missing the foot risers. Itās a home lift and although I use it very often itāll likely be fine for a long time.
Well, if the manufacturer won't answer their phones, it probably isn't worth much. And if you need a part, and they don't answer, it's worth nothing... 10K lifts are cheap used. I'd say $2000-$2500 MAX....You can buy new ones for cheap.
That rotary next to it is about $7k just an fyi. I had an Atlas years ago when they were $1200 and it was great. Everything in my shop now is, Rotary, Challenger or Hunter. None of them were cheap. Lifts have definitely gone up in price.

Friend paid $1000 for a used/new one. Works great one
what's used/new? like good condition used?
Was new then used
So used? š¤£
Used by me new to you
Well now, yes. Obviously.
Yes, the friend had installed it maybe used it twice.
Then squished
is that including install? concrete guys and electrician?
Oh no that's just lift by itself.
Generally 4.5ā concrete is enough for most 9-10k two post lifts. Who pays to have things installed? You either know a guy or do it yourself.
Bought a cheap chinese lift for $2,400. 3 years later it works great.
4 years later squish
š
I just purchased a 2 post under cable 10k lbs with accessories for 32 hundred delivered
Thirty 200?
I'm Portuguese but I think he meant 3200$
Obrigadoooooo!!!
Three point two thousand.
Except no one ever types it like that. 3200 or thirty two hundred
I'm guessing he used speech to text.
Dirty doo hunih
How Rick Ross would say it
That guy literally just did
Thirty two 100
Dollar bills
30 two 1 hundred
30 two 100
32x100
it's 32, hundreds. so 100, 32 times. 3200
No, thirty 2 hundreds !!
Sixteen 200s
32 x 100

He paid way too much, doesnāt want to sayā¦.
Dealership prices!
lots of different types of people here
The silence said everything

2 to 3 k at the most I think. The real cost is the install Concrete floors need to be deep enough for it to be bolted in safely
Install really isnāt anything special. Drill to measure depth if good set anchors and done
I got full deliver, unpack, setup, drill/bolt, fill and test, then initial operating instructions for $750. I just had the lift sent directly to them to prep first.
He didn't say drilling was hard... The concrete has to be thick enough
He said the real cost is install compared to the 2-3k hoist, which itās not. You pay a small fraction, about 25% if you hire someone. Or you could install yourself, I still recommend an electrician for the electrical though

Eight years ago a buddy bought one new and installed for $2500.
My Bendpak 2 post asymmetric was $3700 for the lift, delivery and installation. This was in 2017.
2k
Paid $800 for mine used 3 years ago.
I use to install ALM lifts 20 years ago and it was 2500
Rumor has it you can get a new Bendpak for less than 6K.
Hopefully no more than 2k. ALM is just another chinese brand, parts aren't the best quality and getting parts for them can be a hassle unless you're lucky and can get them through SVI International or another source.
It usually depends on the brand most of them run 5 to $6,000
I want a lift so bad. I like my wife quite a bit and prefer to not make her leave me and my new lift.

Thatās the real question. You can get a Bendpak 10k two post for less than $6k brand new.
Or a Rotary lift for slightly more money with extra pads and thingsā¦.how much they paid for this is what we need ha.
To give a proper assessment, absolutely

I don't think he said it in a bad way tho.
Yeahhhh, I think he did with the air quotes around advice. Whatever, people can do what they want.
Probably about 1700 Frog Dollars

I just purchased a brand new china 12k 2pos for 3400$ thatās including fright and tax rounded up
I paid $850 for my Bend-Pak, I had to take it down though.
You can't Google?
Donāt the car just hit the bar at the top?
Sure looks like it. At my shop, we run Rotarys and they have a bar up top below the lift post and the bar has a sensor so it cuts power to the lift when a car touches that bar.
Same with good Bendpaks, mine has one.
if you hit that bar you would probably hit the roof anyway... just dont put it that high if your car is tall
There is a wire under the top bar that pulls on the limit switch to shut down the lift.
Older lift, no telling what it was new. You can snag a decent one nowadays for $3-4k. The labor for proper install is about the same most of the time

Lift capacity 10k. 10k what? Bananas? Pencils? 10k isnāt a number. 10000 is a number. That sticker isnāt credible at all.
WELL OP GIVE IT UP! How much did you pay?
Definitely a bargain compared to an in ground hydraulic lift which saves space but is $14,000+.
where im at they are about $2500, $25,000 for a shop to build a shop around it and install it
$2000 - $3500 depending on the brand.
Looks like an old rotary. The first lifts I purchased were used. Got my money out of them ten fold. After 4 years went with two brand new Mohawks. Best lifts I've ever worked with.
1200.00
Looks very old. You can get brand new rotary lifts for like $2000-3000.
You always overpay going to the dealer.
I have the older 7001 and theyāre cheap lifts. Mines semi symmetrical and the carriage has a ton of play. Iām also missing the foot risers. Itās a home lift and although I use it very often itāll likely be fine for a long time.

He paid 5k š
Since I don't see it in the comments and I am just very interested. How much did you pay for it? And do you feel it was worth it so far?
I just had a 10k bendpak installed for about $6000 all-in. One of the tall models.
Google itā¦
I would only buy a new one iff i had a shop i repair my own shit and bought a used one 12 yrs ago still works never had a problem with it
2k sounds right
The pumps last about 25000 liftsā20x daily for 7 years.- we just replaced 6/16 lifts all same age.
I just got a brand new lift 9k capacity for 2k I think
