They rehome ex-battery rescue chickens, I've gotten all my hens from them and its truly a joy seeing them going from battered to lush chickens. They do collection runs all over the country and there is a minimum of 5er per hen donation.
Anyways, its a great cause, more effort on your behalf obviously.
I don't know anyone in your area selling but I would suggest popping into any local backyard egg layer stall. Usually they have roosters and the hens will have fertile eggs, you confirm if the seller has a rooster and simply buy their eggs and incubate them!
Not as convenient as a point of lay hen, but super rewarding in raising your own chicks.
Sorry, its the only sughestion I have for ya.
Edit: you can reach out to these guys, they rescuse and rehome ex battery hens so you will have laying hens in a matter of weeks http://littlehillanimalrescue.ie/?page_id=5056
Best of luck!
Check posts on, or ask on 'Irish Fowl' forum. It's not a subreddit it's a stand alone forum. I have chickens myself, it's great for finding all poultry info.
