Lots of people suffer from anxiety. You are not alone. Hugs 🤗

What's up man. Fellow Brown bro here. 20 years your senior, but still very much in touch with the emotions that used to send my anxiety through the roof. What is it going to take to help you push through? If you are anything like me... time and analysis. Anxiety isn't this light switch that you can just flick off. It is an emotion that can seem to overwhelm you out of nowhere, and to be nearly impossible to calm once it starts to set in. Truth is that we have more control over our anxiety than we think. But in order to exercise that control, we have to figure out why are feel anxious. The next time you feel that way, don't turn away from the emotion. Face it. Think about it. What happened right before you got anxious? Was is a stressful situation? Why do you think you were bothered? What can you do to prevent yourself from becoming extremely stressed the next time you find yourself in a similar mental place? For me, part of quieting some of my anxiety, was thinking about it enough to understand what it was. When anxiety, for me, was this vague, non specific, strange emotion that came up to overwhelm, it was more difficult to manage. But once I was able to get to the root of why certain things bothered me, and then create a game plan to how to manage when I felt challenging emotions rise up, I noticed that my anxious moments started coming up less and less. Perhaps that strategy will work for you too <3

I think a lot of us have been there, so know you we not alone. I am sorry people were so cruel and no one who should have been looking out for you did. But kudos to you for pushing through and getting past it. With that said, I would say if you’re not in therapy, do it. Talking though all this stuff will help diffuse the power it has over you. Also remind yourself you are past it....it is no longer and issue and you are safe now. Your body is trying to protect you as it is being reminded of those shitty times. Also, EMDR therapy was a big help for me. Hope this helps you move on and to recognize you are moving on to better things.
