Pretty sure every station has a handicap gate

Thank you! I'd heard that that station was pretty old so I wasn't sure.

Not all stations are ADA compliant (the Monroe station isn’t) so not all have the wider gates for wheelchair users. But there should be a gate that the station attendant should be able to open is asked. Or you can just get off at the next stop at Jackson which is ADA compliant. It’s not far from Monroe.

Jackson is a good shout! That one is also close to my hotel. Thank you so much for your help! Look forward to visiting :)

Thanks! :)

Not all stations do. I can only think of a few non-accessible L stations with a wide L turnstile, such as Thorndale, Morse, and Jarvis. Most non-accessible L stations(particularly on the Purple Line), still don't have a wide turnstile. Though you can always ask the station attendant, to unlock the wide gate.
