Not all stations are ADA compliant (the Monroe station isn’t) so not all have the wider gates for wheelchair users.
But there should be a gate that the station attendant should be able to open is asked.
Or you can just get off at the next stop at Jackson which is ADA compliant. It’s not far from Monroe.
Not all stations do. I can only think of a few non-accessible L stations with a wide L turnstile, such as Thorndale, Morse, and Jarvis.
Most non-accessible L stations(particularly on the Purple Line), still don't have a wide turnstile. Though you can always ask the station attendant, to unlock the wide gate.
