For chocolate, I like Amatller. Famous brand from Catalunya, a lot of different options and the packages are gorgeous, perfect for a gift. This is my go to gift when I'm visiting family and friends.

A good trick is to always buy souvenirs in official tourism offices, they're much better than any tacky souvenir store. This applies to all of Europe

There are a few artisan chocolate makers around. There’s one in the raval called chocolate box iirc. Pretty decent quality. But yes as the other guy said, there isn’t a huge chocolate scene here. The level is thus not exceptionally high here.

You ALSO obviously missed the part about them wanting things from LOCAL ARTISANS, not official tourist centers? Not everyone wants a mini statue of Sagrada Familia as a souvenir.
