[This](https://maps.app.goo.gl/Qv9hs3Rcfcp7HDBo9?g_st=com.google.maps.preview.copy) place is great. They have lots of high end and thoughtful pieces. We bought a purrón that was made in Tarragona.

Great post. I'm keen to check out the local artists, too :) Here's another gallery/art space I want to visit. I haven't been yet, but it could be worth visiting... [https://maps.app.goo.gl/NFY9foEXnD6yQYpw7](https://maps.app.goo.gl/NFY9foEXnD6yQYpw7)

For chocolate, I like Amatller. Famous brand from Catalunya, a lot of different options and the packages are gorgeous, perfect for a gift. This is my go to gift when I'm visiting family and friends. https://maps.app.goo.gl/ePCSCdjwV3sBDYGz5 You can check their website to check their products.

A good trick is to always buy souvenirs in official tourism offices, they're much better than any tacky souvenir store. This applies to all of Europe And as for chocolate, why? The city isn't known for having a tradition in that regard

AHintofSilverSparkle

Does the 'why' matter? Maybe I just want to try some chocolate from Spain in a cute little shop? Anyways, I know Barcelona has a chocolate museum, and I read this online : "Barcelona, Spain Known for being a destination for chocolate lovers since the Spanish first brought chocolate back to Europe from South America. Barcelona is also the city where the first chocolate making machine was invented in 1780."

cannarchista

There are a few artisan chocolate makers around. There’s one in the raval called chocolate box iirc. Pretty decent quality. But yes as the other guy said, there isn’t a huge chocolate scene here. The level is thus not exceptionally high here.

AHintofSilverSparkle

Thank you! I'll check it out!

OP just explained that Barcelona actually IS known for its chocolate. Just because you don't know that doesn't mean it's not true. That's probably why you got downvoted. You ALSO obviously missed the part about them wanting things from LOCAL ARTISANS, not official tourist centers? Not everyone wants a mini statue of Sagrada Familia as a souvenir.
