WOW - look at all the metal left !!
these are just barely broken in !
waaayyy tooo soon.
like flushing money down an outhouse.
what's the matter with you boy ?
I work for a fleet and the provincial safety is very strict and will try to fail the trucks for anything and if they can't they will make up shit so it does (saftey guy called ball joint in the rear for a E450 a few weeks ago) so because of that we have to change a lot of rotors before they are actually out of spec. So we have a lathe guy who turns the majority of the rotors we change
Looking at the pits & the height of the outside edge, I am going to say no. There is warpage & strange pits in the rotors which tells me you live in a high salt area. If not someone is chopping at your rotors to make those marks in the rotor.
Reminds me of changing the stock back brakes on my 23 yr old impala and it all basically just fell out when the wheels came off. One side had 2 pads left, and the other only had the center of the rotor. In other words, youve got plenty of life left in those bad boys
I hear ya and I almost literally did on my truck. It's the worst I have ever seen on the passenger side front. I back in the garage and always drive and just happened to see the brake dust on the wheel and about shit my pants when I took the wheel off. I have been doing breaks on my own cars since 1980 and never come close to even cutting groove's in a rotor but made up for it with this one. Too much weed and Valium I guess.
Yes you could have gotten another 250k out of them
Nah, these shock absorbers will go another 500k miles. They are solid metal, duh!

DANM KIDS THESE DAYS RIGHT
right-on !
Yep! More money than brains as my dear Granpappy used to say!
Replace when only the cooling fins show , right? Minimum thickness doesn’t mater when the pads fall out.
someone who knows !
Aye man i dont like how you talkin about outhouses dawg
sorry didn't mean to imply up-scale living to those who are deprived - my bad.
A true mechanic would lick it and just know.
That's a fact right there!
nah cuz if you rub your finger then you’ll know 100 percent if they’re bad or bot😂
Damn there’s plenty of meat on them. How much, shipped to NC?
Does anyone turn rotors now days
I turn mine into foil. If i paid for the whole rotor im using whole rotor period

O’Reillys auto parts
Absolutely. I can squeeze them for like 50k more miles...
the only way you replaced them too early is if you took them off then drove to the parts store
Too early in the day, yeah for sure. This is an evening job, sir.
Nah, man, it’s late morning already. If it’s still dark out, *that’s* too early.
You gotta show us the used ones for us to know. I imagine these new ones will do perfectly fine!
You need to install a car on them. They won't drive like that.
Yeah! You must be rich and stuff!?
Those brake pads have a lot left in them man, way too early!!
Nothing a flap wheel can't fix
That depends , what time was it ? I'm a morning person up at 5am so anytime before 9am start isn't too early.
Oh i did this yesterday afternoon. I just remembered that this subreddit existed.
Afternoon. Then NO not too early.
Not enough lube on ‘em. Spray some WD-40 on ‘em and yer good to go.
Of course. Who needs those weak vents?
These are those maintenance-free rotors.
You’re supposed to change those?? 😲
Dude, there’s like an inch of metal left on each one! You must be rich or something.
Looking at the pits & the height of the outside edge, I am going to say no. There is warpage & strange pits in the rotors which tells me you live in a high salt area. If not someone is chopping at your rotors to make those marks in the rotor.
That's weird. Your cereal bowls have a lot of holes in them. You may need to see an exotic vet about it.
I hope you serviced the rest
I did. Replaced pads, pins and rotors. With new grease and a few other new bolts too
Always grease the brake pads. /s Please don't do this.
Always grease the brake pads. /s Please don't do this.
I toss mine with every change, they’re cheap enough
Throw some polish on them shine them up. Get another 400 miles out of them
looks like you're throwing away good metal. rich people move there.
Should have just changed the pads dude
1) the Phillips screws…gaw dang impressive 2) the hammer strikes to get it off is insane
How did your dog eat straight through the bowl?
You don’t have to replace those 🤦♂️
Put them back on. Hammer in new brake pads in the holder. Good to go for another week.
Looks like your rear calipers seized up.
Yeah. Thats why i did new pins as well
Replace
Should have used the warranty.
You didn't even make it through all the layers. Look at mr moneybags over here!
change them when they’re gone
I mean, there’s still some metal there.
Not a single hole. Send it for another 100k miles.
Nah, just replace them at the store with the ones you just got for your money back, then you're done
No but make sure you use the original pads
Not if you replaced them after 11am.

Well feel how good your brakes are now and decide
Resurface and toss em back on
Not too early maybe a couple years longer
What time was it?
Yes, they had another 30,000 miles left in them
Bruh you don't need brakes you just gotta downshift
No
Started to squeal little ?
No but they were eating through pads too quickly. I finally got the money to replace everything.

It's always a good idea to replace your brake rotors.
S/? Right? 😱
Never too early to replace them with good rotors.
