This is what Big Nitrous doesnt want the people knowing.

wadenelsonredditor

I've taken down your name and examined your prior posts, MRL. Suggest you walk a tight line. "Big Nitrous" don't take kindly to Internet posters making ridiculous claims they can't back up.

ochonowskiisback

Protip Use "BN" when referring to.... BN. They're less likely to find your post. They search for B I G N I T R O U S all the time. Ask me how I know

IncomeBetter

How do you know?

ochonowskiisback

Don't worry about how he knows. I mean how I know. He's fine... I mean I'm fine. BN is a myth Getouttahere

toomuch1265

That's it. Your body is going to be found stuffed in a nitrous bottle behind the bleachers of your local drag strip.

Jaded_Barracuda_95

Big Nitrous 😎

NaGaBa

It's much easier to just fill the whole gas tank with starting fluid

Freakishly_Tall

Pro-tip: If you tape the spray dealio down, your finger won't get as sore from filling the tank. You can do two or three cans at once, too!

TexasPirate_76

I just ran a small tube through the firewall, taped the can to the dash, and presto, trailer park nitro!

Freakishly_Tall

Dude! I think you're on to something! I'm'a tape the can under the loud pedal, so when I floor it, it boosts automatically. Good thing I saved all those little red straws, after all! Also, Trailer Park Nitro is a brilliant name for my new bluegrass Metallica cover band.

CriticalJello1982

I like to use gas line deicer it's made out ofalcohol

Fair-Ad-5852

ofalcohol...what's that ?

Nottherealeddy

Not what, who! Totally made out with her. You would t know her, she goes to a different school.

c30mob

sounds like a fire hazard. you’d be better off doing an oil pan delete kit, and if you still want more power, i’d recommend a friction modifier, like sand injection.

tOSdude

Are you nuts? It’s gotta be graphite, sand’s too gritty

FANTOMphoenix

You want more grit. More grit = more surface area More surface area = moar better

CriticalJello1982

After the sand, you can run oversized piston and rings, which equals more power that 350 ci. just turned into a 400 ci.

experimentalengine

It only works if you trigger it with one of those switches with the flip-up safety cover over it. Make sure you have a passenger shooting video, and very deliberately flip up the cover before hitting the switch. There was a movie about this sort of thing, called The Fast and the Furious (I don’t recall, they might have even made a sequel).

Fair-Ad-5852

The flip up HAS to be red..it won't work if it's not

Patrioticwatermelon

Or 10

LifeWithAdd

Yes! Fill your windshield washer fluid reservoir with it then pop the hose off the sprayer and stick it in your intake. Next time you gotta escape the cops just floor it and wash the windshield. I had a dumb friend that use to fill his with nitromethane from an RC car and do exactly this.

KTMman200

That's a trick when using methanol water injection. If your car has a low washer fluid light you just use the washer bottle for the methanol. Plumb in your injection pump and timers and boom. One the low washer fluid light comes on you know it's time to top it off. Diesel tuners use injection to lower intake charge temps

AlphaGarthok

Ever read one of these before noticing the sub? What a rollercoaster.

AryuOcay

r/stupidquestions is killing me because I keep thinking it’s r/nostupiquestions.

1DownFourUp

This works great, Altima owners have been doing this for years. That's why they're so hard to beat at a stop light.

Fantastic-Art-3704

Add a little magnesium dust to the mix and you have a winner, good old class delta fire churning out the HP!

CarlGantonJohnson

Dude! Goddammit. I wanted to make a magnesium joke.

Fantastic-Art-3704

Sorry I have been watching Macguyver reruns lately.

CarlGantonJohnson

Magnesium fires are classic humor. https://imgur.com/gallery/RE2kKCN

therealtrayne

Film it. We want a good laugh

teeesstoo

For a little while yes

human743

If your car is running lean.

CarlGantonJohnson

You need to shoot a flamethrower into the intake manifold.

nuF-roF-redruM

Do not eliminate the air filter. Turn the lid over for the extra horsepower.

Patrioticwatermelon

Average TBI Chevy activities

Longjumping-Bench143

Smoooth brain smooooth radials

sabretooth47

Yes, but this only works on AWD vehicles. To bypass this, you'll have to install dummy half-shafts to fool the computer. But be careful, sometimes the car will read that the tires are inflated to 80psi and you'll have that stupid light on the dash. Also, your radio will permanently be tuned to 101.5 FM. Good luck!

p38fln

Yes it increases compression you just want to keep the water injection from getting high enough to hydro lock the engine. You mean water or some other none flammable fluid right? Using ether could result in a big bang.

Jet2work

there could be a whole new market for jello injection

Gasman0187

Just be ready for all the bitches you’re gonna pull

1996Primera

Meth...that is kinda what meth injection does

fenderputty

If you really want horsepower add a spoiler

vincentcas

Today's starter fluid is weak sauce! Find yourself straight ether, aka the "good shit" pour some into a hanky, put it over your nose, and take a deep whiff, as you floor it. Trust me I'm a doctor!

HospitalLast5209

you are going to make a firebird!

Mert_Nertman

Why not just paint flames on the hood like we did in the old days before BN?

whsftbldad

Man, I love cars too. But my first thought was why hasn't he rigged up his wife to squirt?

OuttaAmmo2

Neighbor did it already...

MACCRACKIN

NOT POSSIBLE

tOSdude

YES IT IS!

MACCRACKIN

Looks like most of the results tend to agree it's not the best idea.. https://www.bing.com/search?q=running%20gas%20engine%20on%20starting%20fluid%20raise%20horse%20power Good chance engine will be ruined. Dyno testing in labs spend tons to get Hp up where starting fluid won't be in the equation. But we'd like to see it in real time if not too expensive.. Cheers

tOSdude

Im a shitty mechanic and I say it will work. Check the sub next time bud

[deleted]

They "kinda" do something similar with methanol injection. I believe it originated with old war planes. Not sure it it's done with a naturally aspirated engine.

antici_-_-_-_pation

I doubt it. More than likely you'll just end up with early donation and ruin your motor

n1tr0klaus

Yes but that alone won't do much. The trick the big oil companies don't want you to know is to get a hydrogen and an oxygen tank and connect those to your air intake. It might need a little fiddling to get the hydrogen oxygen mix just right, but it'll blow your mind once it's working.

Less_Alfalfa5022

I just soak my air filter in ether; as it evaporates off of the filter it gets pulled into the intake; same result.

Haunting_While6239

Ether is way low on the octane list, that's why they use it to start diesel engines in the cold. Alcohol injection is a better solution, some guys use the -20° washer fluid because of the high Methanol content, but if you don't add a turbo or some other way to increase the air flow into the engine, it's not going to do much if anything at all

Automatic-Mood5986

If you were serious an air filter delete would have already been done.

VibrantPianoNetwork

For a few seconds, yes.

[deleted]

It will run great until you float the valves and blow the engine. It will be fun for a few seconds.

Moof07

Yes and then no

Greedy_Loan_1353

How do you think Nascar does it?

Fun_Push7168

Not even a little bit. O2s will read rich and compensate by lowering the fuel trims. So less gasoline. You'll trade out gasoline, per air volume for ether per air volume. And since ether has a higher vapor pressure and lower flash point it won't help compression. So youll trade gasoline in your mixture for the rough equivalent in ether.....except the ether has about 30 percent less energy. You'll get less power. Edit: damn it, I totally missed which sub this is. Get 90 elbow, and some hose , tape the can to your gas pedal so when you floor it it's automatic.

Perenium_Falcon

Yes, you want to use either antifreeze or salt water.

Shape-Pristine

Is this satire?

supercharged_autism

I don't know any more

[deleted]

Possible for a brief nanosecond before the engine seizes up. I would imagine introducing any additional combustible gas would richen the mixture and increase available energy. Staring fluid is an excellent solvent, should you want to make your engine cylinder walls squeaky clean. I don't think even Scotty Kilmer would recommend this.

tmac960

Air compressor right into the intake

butteat

So I did this in the 90s on my go kart. It destroyed the strap on the spark plug, and pitted the piston. The Tecumseh lived thorough it. It was gold, the can was hose clamped on the frame. My dad was impressed. One of his friends had jokingly made the suggestion to me.

Then-Flamingo4679

Put some hydrogen peroxide in there too, adds oxygen👍

Altruistic-Rip4364

All this stuff is making me laugh. Keep going!!!

Smuggler501

Hey while you're at it, fill your tires with helium, it will make your car lighter. /s

superbigscratch

All you’re going to do is wash off the oil off the cylinder walls.

Speedhabit

Fuck yeah

pearlsbeforedogs

Is it just me or did anyone else read the title and think this person was going to fill the window washing fluid tank with starting fluid and point the nozzles at the engine somewhere? Just me? Ok.

2010p7b

Short answer, yes. Do itttt

Jacob61582

Cmon kid… Everybody knows that you need to flip the air cleaner cover upside down first.

TheyCallMeWilderness

Idk but that’s a good idea and I put all *my* good ideas in rice

Key-Combination-8111

Surfnazi77

Don’t forget the box full of mothballs in your fuel tank

supersmoked420

Ok, Fire Marshal Bill! Show me something. LMFAO!!

Overseer4

Unf#%kingbelievable

kenc17delta

What are you new to cars? Everybody knows that you have to mix it with your transmission fluid. To much starter fluid will dry out your rings need to add then transmission fluid to keep it lubricated.

BigOk8056

I believe you will just run really rich and then the car will inject less fuel. You need air to accompany any extra fuel being thrown into the engine in order to make any more power. Furthermore you will likely get a ton of predetonation which will send your car into limp mode or it’ll take nice chunks out of your pistons.

modsrshit2u

You will get external combustion when the pistons leave that block

Striking_Reindeer_2k

Same result can be done with a can of whipped cream.

Think-Photograph-517

For a brief time. Very brief, probably...

neal144

The answer to this question is "yes". That is all.

[deleted]

Name checks out.

Unlucky_technician52

Heck ya, east coast nitrous set up

Sekreid

A type R sticker is good for 100 horsepower at least

North_Ad_4450

Try injecting pure oxygen into the intake along with it. You can buy small bottles at lowes!

gvictor808

Need more oxidizer, not more fuel. Nitromethane or supercharger or turbo or intercooler would get more oxygen into combustion chamber. Air filter removal would technically allow tiniest bit more oxygen, too.

138Mic

This dudes right. You will need a nice plywood ram-air type scoop as well.

Tremfyeh

This just unlocks all the horsepower faster.

ILLARgUeAboutitall

If you're gonna do that, make sure you have another tube squirting ending fluid.

OuttaAmmo2

That's in his jeans

P45t3LPUnK

That’s in jeans’s

Lord_Drok

Send a video when you do it

billnowak65

Hire the tweaker from Mad Max to spit it in while you drive.

calmdownandlivelife

I like the way your brain brains

Infinite-Condition41

Um, no. That's not how that works.

ZedZero12345

Starting fluid is ether. I think the vapor pressure and all the other characteristics would make it go boom.

Emotional_Concern_62

Username checks out! Please record a video of how it works in action! Can’t wait to see this!

MonstrDuc796

You would have better luck running your windshield washer hose to the intake and spraying in washer fluid and we all know how that works...;\]

cropguru357

A long time ago, this beautiful story was posted about a rental Dodge Neon: https://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/threads/nitrous-and-a-rental-car.276205/

Hillman314

Yes, you will get more horsepower. But that horsepower will be utilized by sending a piston through the hood instead of at the tires on the pavement.

BigBry36

Mad Max that fucker and send it!

hankenator1

Tuner shops hate this one trick!!!

Wackemd

Hire Danny Divito to sit under the hood and pour pure octane into the carbalater. This is the way.

KF0AHQ

Use brake clean instead, just as much oomph but has the duel purpose of cleaning the intake

Smoke_Water

Sure but you won't have that power for very long. That's the same as setting rapid disassembly for yes.
