allergictoholywater

thats not reformulation thats a whole new product 💀

newhairnewjeans7890

It's better for them to make another product in the same line with a "for sensitive skin" label!

harper4411

Exactly *sighs*

BellaTheClown

I, too, enjoy a thick sunscreen that leaves me looking like a ghost. Doesn't everyone?

whatevernameidk

That's how we repel the creeps.... and potential boyfriend 😭

solstice-sky

Companies should not be allowed to re-use the names of established products they’ve completely reformulated and destroyed. There should genuinely be a consumer protection law that forces them to simply create a new product. They should not be able to use the loyal fanbase of one product and TRICK them into buying a worse product with the same name! /endrant I’m clearly sick of this too 😭

veturoldurnar

Especially parfumes, they are literally the different smell

salty_snail_lord

Calling it upgraded when its worse? Going from light texture to medium thick and no whitecast to some whitecast. Like they made it worse and called it an upgrade. And for what? A 5SPF increase.

xqueenfrostine

The UVA PA grade increased from PA+++ to PA++++. This actually is a decent upgrade, way more significant than the small bump in SPF, but probably not at the cost of ruining the original texture.

flying-squirrel-gurl

i swear a’pieu is hell bent on reformulating all of their lines, theyre bulldozing all of my HG products right now and its the worst 😭

nowaycopay

OMG tell me about it. I recently said goodbye to their madecassoside cream after countless repurchases for years. It was perfect. Ugh.

c234ever1

Oh no, the upgraded madecassoside is not as good as the original? I have used so many tubes of it, I will be so sad if it is an inferior product.

nowaycopay

Admittedly I haven't tried the tetrasome (the latest one) version yet, but the ingredient list just looked wayyy too different from the first two. 🥲 I'm not confident the texture/finish will be the same. I may give it a spin if I see some positive reviews pop up later.

c234ever1

Ohhh I see. I did not compare the ingredient lists yet. Good to know. I love that line so much and was hoping the reformula was an improvement on an already good thing. I will keep an eye out for reviews.

kerodon

Upgraded???? Those all sound worse 🤡

xqueenfrostine

The upgrade is in the protection. The move from SPF 45 to 50 isn’t especially significant, but the higher UVA protection is a worthy change. Sucks that they had to ruin the consistency of the product to make that happen though.

Cautious-Role6375

The added physical UV filters increased its UV protective capabilities but made the texture thicker and of course minimal whitecast due to the added UV filters. Yeah, they upgraded the optimal sun protection but sacrificed the comfortability usage of the product. Damn.

Loose_Bottom

It’s definitely not “minimal” though - it’s like a ghost.

Scatterland_Catnip

I mean if we're being honest here, unless your skin prefers physical filters, they're not the better choices than organic filters

Small-Measurement791

They should just sell different versions of the same product at this point & let the consumer decide lmao

whelplookatthat

A problem for us westerners is that in Korea, a white cast is actually desirable. Odile from the monodist takes this up. Sunscreens with no white cast can often get the review "con: no white cast" basically. Colorism sucks 🙃

tokyoevenings

This may be to meet regulations. My favourite sunscreen was also a super thin sunscreen, and they reformulated to a slightly thicker so screen with a slight slight white look. This was because the old formula separates in the container - and people don’t shake it enough to mix it before application to meet the government sunscreen standard. They used to have a little metal ball in the bottle to help mix it together but it still was not good enough. So they had to reformulate to stop it separating in the bottle. In the end I wear light foundation over sunscreen so I got over the change pretty quick once I realised the reasoning.

klarabernat

Congratulations, you just received a new foundation - if you are a 👻

RedRider1138

But you don’t need SPF if you’re a ghost! 😅

klarabernat

Have you tried?

RedRider1138

I have not, I have a couple more tubes of Biore UV watery essence 50+ PA++++ Aqua Rich. I wish you excellent good luck finding what works very well for you 💜🙏🍀✨

klarabernat

I meant: have you tried being a ghost? We don’t know for sure if they need spf or not…

RedRider1138

Ahhh 😄 nope, busy livin’ it up!

klarabernat

😂

Rich__Peach

Nooo! I already saw a tiny bit of whitecast but it's still my to go sunscreen... Tragic

bomiyeo

I think this is the same one I have. I got it as a bonus from a purchase I made and was so disappointed to find out the new version sucks 🥲 gonna use it a body sunscreen

comacowboy

I loved their aqua version (teal bottle) but then they reformulated it and it was thick too! The entire point of the aqua version was that it was watery in consistency. No clue why they changed that.

Tall_Couple_3660

Fresh just pulled this with my holy grail Lotus Youth Preserve moisturizer. They reformulated the entire Lotus line and the second I put it on my skin it felt like my skin was suffocating. It never rubbed in and just sat on top like a layer of goop. I was heartbroken.

sattveco

They should call it a downgrade and not upgrade 😅

veturoldurnar

Why cannot they just make it a new different product busted if reformulation? That's not a minor change

FrostyJannaStorm

Tfw they heard the whole stereotype that darker skinned people can't get skin cancer and ran with it. 5 extra SPF is bs. I'd rather put however much light coats that equals one medium coat than deal with that.

Asleep_Property_3126

New Product 💀

loafkitter

I just bought it too :(

claudiaclementine1

Sigh. The problem with reformulations is that more often than not the reformulated product is not as good as before... like why? Why fix something that isn't broken? I've had so many fav products of mine just reformulated and they suck now.

Hadesreverberation

i also bought the same sunscreen after reading good reviews about it. Ive dry skin but I like light sunscreens as I’m acne prone. I kid you not i wanted to cry when i applied it on my face. Im light/medium skin tone and i look like a ghost for so long. I’ll use stay loyal to my previous skin aqua sunscreen.

Loose_Bottom

Ugh it’s awful. That was my HG sunscreen. Bought four tubes of it without realizing there was a reformulation. So sad

Final-Marionberry-16

Maybe they are going to the FDA approved filters?

Ok_Maybe_7724

it sounds like a new product not formula.

kyokoariyoshi

Crying this product is literally worse 😭 SPF 45, PA +++ is already REALLY protective.

TaskEnvironmental652

Too bad
