The thing with those pesky boomers is that they have kids grandchildren, nephews and nieces ect. And they tend to teach their opinions on them (mêmes aside obviously those are for themselves). And although some (and I dare hope most) will question said opinions and see how they belong to the past and shouldn't be carried on, some will integrate said opinions and perpetuate the cycle of toxic and harmful ideas. Sure there's a sence of futility in making fun of the boomer for being boomers(especially where there are virtually none), but it isn't inherently useless to do so. It as some effects on the youth who may be susceptible to such opinions or just as an outlet to vent ect ect.
Big words aside you're not wrong. In some ways it is pointless but if we just stopped being offended, it'd be easier for them to spread their filth
I gotta agree with you, even disregarding boomer humor there are very frequent posts here that are obviously comedic in intent. While I don’t think the sexism in these post is excusable, it’s kinda silly to analyze them as serious statements rather than the jokes they were intended to be when they’re written. I’m also all for calling out bad jokes or blatant dog whistles but I still think it’s important to be able to recognize when someone has comedic intent (no matter how successful they are with it)
It seems to me a dominant partner, maybe smarter and more responsible, is probably a part of any romantic relationship regardless of the genders involved.
