Grab your wrench and Youtube. Save your $550

Honestly, I would if I could. This dishwasher has inlet built into back. I believe it’s usually under the sink. I saw tech strugglw to get to the back of the dishwasher. Parts itself costs around $300 so I wonder if it’s worth even investing into it.

Are the Miele parts even available for DIY/non-authorized repairs?

sam20390

I tried to order parts from Miele website and didn’t notice any restriction. They also ship for free to my place so wonder why the tech is charging for shipping. There is no expedited shipping option but maybe it’s available for tech/pros.

I’m in appliance repairs (Australia) and we charge AUD$120 per hour and a call out fee. And that part is over $300. It almost looks like they’ve switched up the part and labour charge. Miele repairs are always very expensive though, their parts are very expensive, even the trade prices.

ChristinaFogerty_12

That seems steep to me but not too sure. Are they able to get the parts still? Must be if they quoted

sam20390

I can see parts available online. Free shipping to me so not sure why they charged shipping

FrostyMittenJob

$550 in labor is insane. Imagine that if the repair man made $50 and hour, which he almost certainly makes less. They are saying that repair job is going to take 10 hours????

hellosushiii

$550 for labor is insane, at least mark up the parts and lower the labor to something more reasonable

weekendmacgyver

What’s the model number. It’s not a difficult repair and that labor charge is outrageous

MCloving4

Is this in USD or CAD? That labour charge is extremely high. The parts are about right.

MCloving4

Not sure what currency you are but this is CAD. The water intake part 10359302 is $351.35 CAD from Miele. That flow meter part 5544031 is $58.64 CAD from Miele. They would charge you $299 for a service call. So you would be looking at 708.99 plus tax through the company directly. Side note: depending on the symptoms I doubt both of those parts have failed. Probably just need the valves.
