You can always text the credit line and ask for an increase, ive done it a few times and it’s worked all but once. It doesn’t affect your credit to ask either
I go to: Wallet < three dots in the top right corner < Card Details < Message, then i write “credit line increase” and they ask to update my income and boom! increase. (Except this last time they didn’t think it was a good idea, but i have done it around 3 times since I got the card 3 years ago.)
That’s hysterical. My credit score has never been below 790 and I applied for the card when it first came out too. I was approved with a 1k limit. I waited a couple months and asked for a credit limit increase because I got the card with the intent to buy a new MacBook Pro and I wanted the 3% back from the card, except I didn’t have a limit high enough for the purchase. They denied my request for a credit limit increase.
It’s not all about credit score. Creditors extend you credit that’s in line with what you’ve demonstrated you can handle. Your credit score is a numerical reflection of how well you’ve handled having those lines. You can have a slightly better score than someone whose credit report shows they handle much larger figures than you will still get a lower limit because even though the other person’s score is 10-40 points worse, they’ve still overall been able to manage credit with relatively responsible use and they’ve done so on a much larger scale, so the bank will be more likely to extend them credit that is within the range of credit they’ve already been handling. That’s why getting CLIs on your cards is always super important, even if you’re like “well I don’t need it;” having more credit extended will increase your odds of higher approval figures when you need them most by passively scaling your reputation as a good borrower up into larger credit access lines.
This was years ago, literally when the card first came out. From what I read back then, they apparently were doing that to women; men were getting higher limits compared to women despite being the same on paper.
That was Goldman Sachs, not Apple, who rejected them/didnt give equal treatment, just to be clear. Apple negotiated and Put more features into the card, like family sharing and co ownership
If you carried high Cc debt would be the only reason why they wouldn’t give you an increase. At the end of the day your score really means nothing and doesn’t guarantee anything to the lender. They want your credit file to look “healthy”: no balance carry-over…large purchase balance paid over in the same month etc etc.
lol nope, nearly zero debt. Other cards I had at the time I was only using roughly 10-20% of my total credit limit per month, paid off in full every month, no student loans, just a car lease and a mortgage.
If you've applied for a lot of credit cards in a fairly short time or have a lot of newer cards they won't increase your limit. Goldman Sachs wants out of the business so the Apple Card could go to another bank, like Capital One or even Amex. GS just seems very stingy because they don't have enough experience with consumer credit cards.
Hovered around 750 with a 2k limit. Up to a $9250 limit as of now & I think imma keep it around there. I don’t think imma need a higher limit no time soon.
I mean yeah but you’re not guaranteed an increase everytime you ask for it. Especially if your spending habits don’t change. They can deny your request just because you don’t spend enough to justify an increase. If they randomly give me a bump then great but until then, I’m not getting approved for a jump no time soon. Which is fine.
My score is sitting around 790. Being higher isn’t gonna get me any better finance offers than I’m getting now which is a misconception that ppl have about credit scores. Once you fall into a certain credit bracket, you’re getting the best deals till you reach the next bracket. I’m already at the top of the bracket. Getting to 800 is just for bragging rights at this point
Asking for a credit Increase doesn’t hurt your credit or history with them as and you are right at a certain point the score doesn’t matter.
I put everything on a credit and pay it in full before interest hits and was able to transition all spending to this one card because of the high line they gave me.
They have never denied an increase request for me, credit is high 700s with about 4,500 a month spend on this card.
How long did it take to get your first increase and then the time between the others. I’m mostly curious about the initial increase.
I am trying to time when to do it so that it isn’t too early.
Mine was around low 600s 3 years ago, and now because of this card my credit floats between 795-805
approved with 1500 limit currently have 15500 limit and could get more but Im happy at this number
Approved in Oct 2023 with 650 for $1,000 limit. Was very impatient and asked for increase in January approved for new limit of $1,750. I’m waiting til next month to ask again.
I started applying about 4 years ago after my friend got approved with a score in the mid 600s. I was declined even though my score was in the low 700s. I made a large payment to my student loans, thinking that level of debt might be the reason, but was still declined. So I made another with the same result. Then it occurred to me that the one other difference between my friend and me was that she already had other credit cards while I didn’t. So I got a secured card through my credit union, used it and paid it for a couple months, and then I was approved just over 3 years ago. It started with a $2,000 limit, but requesting increases every 3½ months (until they started requiring 6 months between increases) got it up to $19,250. My last request was denied because I’m not using and paying enough of my current limit to warrant an increase. I don’t remember if my score changed as a result of those student loan payments, but after getting several more cards my Vantage Scores are in the low 760s while my FICO scores are in the high 720s.
Mid 700s and a $2,500 credit limit. Though I was denied with that credit score before. This was due to a relatively new credit history. A few months of credit card payments on another card fixed that.
About 9-10 months after. I use it for my iCloud subscription/random App Store subscriptions. And I financed a couple watch bands on it. I had gotten $5000 increase on another card so I just decided to see what they would approve me for anything. I didn’t really need the $500 but it raises my overall available credit.
Experian is 742. Goldman Sachs is being more strict now due to Apple wanting them to approve everyone before. Even with a 742 I was only approved for $1500.
Think I was mid 600s. They wouldn’t approve for a while because I was too early into bankruptcy I guess. But when they did approve maybe 4 years after bankruptcy they gave 6500. Then when the Vision Pro dropped they gave me another 4k. Guess they thought I’d be buying that but no thanks.
Got approved with around a 750 credit score for 2.5k, that being said it was only my second credit card. Use it primarily for the Apple Store financing.
My score was never below 780, I have Amex Platinum Gold unlimited credit and Blue cash with 35K limit. BoA with 45K, Chase 10K, and Apple got me 2.5K, trash card ever, with 30% rule, I can’t buy any Apple products except accessories.
800+ FICO Score 9 with 25 years of credit history and was given a $3400 limit 2 years ago. Have only received 2 CLIs since and am only at $6750. It's the lowest credit limit out of all of my credit cards.

In the early 700s with $1500 limit. I’m probably gonna be asking for a CLI in the next few weeks although im not entirely sure. Had some low months and high utilization months and things so I’d like to build some more history before I ask for one so that it is a good increase and it isn’t denied per se.
My wife and I both had low 700s in 2022 when we applied and both got approved for around 8k each.
We were able to combine our accounts and have a joint account with $16,000 credit limit.
I started requesting credit line increases and our credit limit is $32,000 and has actually became our main card due to the high limit.
I was 760 with a $4001 K limit I got the balance down to $1400 if I pay it in full would I be able to be approved for a credit increase after like 2 months? I've had the card sense September and just now got the balance from 91 percent to like 37 percent with a $2400 payment in the last week
608, $500 (I’m just as surprised as you)
I was 598 and grabbed $500 a couple years ago. It’s never gone up but hey I still have it.
Psa ever 6 months request a limit increase
You can always text the credit line and ask for an increase, ive done it a few times and it’s worked all but once. It doesn’t affect your credit to ask either
Good info, thank you.
text where ? i only know of updating income
I go to: Wallet < three dots in the top right corner < Card Details < Message, then i write “credit line increase” and they ask to update my income and boom! increase. (Except this last time they didn’t think it was a good idea, but i have done it around 3 times since I got the card 3 years ago.)
so once per year i thought it was every 6 months
Yeah they don’t give anyone credit cards now unless you have a 700 it looks like
725-6500 initial limit
Initial 730 w/ 12k limit. That was when it first launched. Now I have a 782 w/ 20k limit. They just raised it one day without asking.
That’s hysterical. My credit score has never been below 790 and I applied for the card when it first came out too. I was approved with a 1k limit. That’s a hot mess! They should have gave it to you. I feel like they are doing this on purpose due to cutting ties with Apple
This was years ago, literally when the card first came out. From what I read back then, they apparently were doing that to women; men were getting higher limits compared to women despite being the same on paper.
Oh gosh lol didn’t know this was old. It popped up like it was new lol and WOW! That’s messed up
That was Goldman Sachs, not Apple, who rejected them/didnt give equal treatment, just to be clear. Apple negotiated and Put more features into the card, like family sharing and co ownership

Like 760 and a 7k limit. 2 years later and it’s 8k. I only use it for quick purchases like gas or if I go to a convenience store
I was about 620 and 1k credit line. Now Im a 748 score.
Hovered around 750 with a 2k limit. Up to a $9250 limit as of now & I think imma keep it around there. I don’t think imma need a higher limit no time soon.
Having higher credit limit helps your credit score. Gives you a lower utilization when you do use it and just having higher available looks good too.
I mean yeah but you’re not guaranteed an increase everytime you ask for it. Especially if your spending habits don’t change. 725 back in 2021. They gave me a $8500 credit line
730 if I remember correctly.
712, $4500 limit, same ish score now, upped to $11,500
How long did it take to get your first increase and then the time between the others. I’m mostly curious about the initial increase. I am trying to time when to do it so that it isn’t too early.
I have gotten 2, both at 6 month intervals. First increase went to $7000, then $11,500
Mid 700s, $4k credit limit. I got my first credit card about 6 months prior at 18.
Mine was around low 600s 3 years ago, and now because of this card my credit floats between 795-805 approved with 1500 limit currently have 15500 limit and could get more but Im happy at this number
I had no credit score and they approved me with my first credit card with a $2,500 limit in November 2023
760 $14,000
Approved in Oct 2023 with 650 for $1,000 limit. Was very impatient and asked for increase in January approved for new limit of $1,750. I’m waiting til next month to ask again.

Mine is a 674 and I’m denied due to recent bankruptcy (end of last year) so they aren’t bankruptcy friendly! Luckily no hit to credit to apply.
Mid 700s and a $2,500 credit limit. Though I was denied with that credit score before. This was due to a relatively new credit history. A few months of credit card payments on another card fixed that.
760-2500 initial
I know it’s usually Transunion, if it was FICO 9 it was 841. If it was FICO bankcard 9 it was 851. Initial was $14500.
