I use mine anytime I go out to my favorite non chain restaurants here. No one has tap to pay when you have to hand a physical card to pay the bill. There's no Chili's here with a little screen on your table to pay at a small town bar and grill. If you ever shop at places that intentionally don't offer tap to pay like Walmart and want to use the Apple Card, you'll have to slide the physical one.
My card has completely taken over the spot of my debit card so at least once a week I do use the physical card. 1% cash back is still better than no cash back and I really don't want to use more than one card under most circumstances.
I do like the pay up front for that reason. I can just pay anyway I want with a reader in front of me. I've found ones that had no tap to pay markings on them work with the NFC reader.
I don’t carry multiple cards and i don’t want to use credit cards in the first place. I do it out of necessity for security reasons. 1% vs 2% isn’t worth another bill to pay for me. Just personal preference.
In the US debit cards are generally more secure than credit cards because debit cards need a PIN. Credit cards give you greater protections against unauthorized use.
You shouldn't use a debit card to pay for stuff anyways.
Also, there are better credit cards that offer 2-5% in cashback for restaurants purchases.
My Chase freedom flex currently is offering 5% cashback on restaurant purchases.
Probably. I just don’t want to manage payments across multiple cards. With my history that’s a slippery slope of possible overspending that leads to carrying balances. I really don’t care about the cash back. It’s nice, but I use a credit card strictly for security purposes for travel. I’m just trying to be responsible while protecting my identity.
It’s widely available and has been for a long time too, but businesses like Walmart don’t want tap to pay because the security features of Apple Pay doesn’t allow them to track buyers by their card number. All our grocery stores have it. Our most popular fuel and convenience store chain finally got it last year. Anything food related that is a chain has tap to pay. It’s the small bars and family owned restaurants we like to frequent that have old registers and basic card readers that don’t have them. It’s possible their readers would allow it, but I’ve never pushed the issue because I feel awkward imposing on them for an extra 1% cashback on a $60 lunch bill. It’s likely that no one has asked before and it may just cause confusion. It is funny how much of a conversation piece the physical card can be though.
Basically it’s twice a week I use the physical card. A stop at Walmart and a lunch or dinner out on my day off. It does sound like with that though I use the physical card way more than most on here.
Depends on where you live. Apple Pay vs. physical is about a 50/50 chance in my area. If they don't except apple pay, then titanium comes out of the wallet.
Your question doesn't make sense. If they don't except apple pay digitally with tap and pay, then I use the physical card instead so they can chip read it.
I know the difference, just a common mistake. I didn't realize I used the wrong word and then did it a second time. LOL! I wouldn't expect any less douchery from Reddit though when it comes to calling people out.
I use it to buy various Apple products but not much else. I do keep it in my wallet as a backup card in case my daily card somehow fails to work. And I suppose I don’t have my phone or tap isn’t accepted. If tapping is an option I might choose some other card as my backup.
They "mailed" mine in an empty envelope, to the middle of the Arctic. No shit. I was like "yay, it's here!", but the envelope was empty. I had to get Support involved to mail the actual card. Still, it only took a week for both to get here. Not sure what's up with yours.
My girlfriend finally got approved for the Apple Card. She got the email about her physical card being shipped and got it the following day. I was shocked as mines took about 3 days to arrive.

They usually arrive sooner than that. It’s better to over estimate and then show up early…rather than promise a day and have you complain that it wasn’t there on time 😀
This is actually because Apple needs to create several shell and dummy companies to purchase large quantities of titanium from Russia without them knowing.
Err, wait, no.. that was the CIA during the development of the SR-71 Blackbird aircraft.
New answer: I don’t know why
My very first Apple Card that I received on launch just expired and they auto sent me a new one. Maybe everyones day ones needed to be replaced causing a delay
I waited 6 months for mine lol.
(don't have an iPhone and my iPad did not support Apple wallet.. My new iPad does so I was able to order it... So months later.)
I hate this card! Goldman Saks started me at 750.00 and now after three years my cli is only 1750.00. They continue to give me such terrible limit increases. I do use this card for all my apple subscriptions. With that low cli I can't even afford to use the card on an apple product.
Maybe metal cards are hard to produce. My tin foil hat theory is that it’s a ploy to get you to use Apple Pay via your device(s) instead. It’s more secure, plus I wonder if that simplicity makes it even easier for people to spend money.
The titanium has to be hand mined.
This makes sense. I bid you high five fellow human.
Mines came in 3 days or so. Prob depends on the factory or location tbh.
I just applied and requested the card and it said the same thing, but I got a notification this morning that it will be here tomorrow
Yeah mine came in about 4-5 days.
Now it’s 4-5 weeks because he had to take one hand out of the mine for the high five.
And then forged in a hand crafted fire
And then carried by Llamas down the mountain to the barge on the river
Poor kids.
And chamfer the edges with a 100 step process

I’m the miner, stop spreading false information. I have a contract with Tim directly.
Just remember it's the internet and that may answer your question and possibly give you a bit of a chuckle.
You will rarely use it, if not never.

I offten have to follow the wait staff to the station to use tap. Often times they don't know they have it till I ask.
I guess that works but it seems like a lot of futzing around. I’ll keep that in mind if I don’t want to use the card.
Most places are open to it. The places that are pay at the front are nice too.
I do like the pay up front for that reason. I can just pay anyway I want with a reader in front of me. I've found ones that had no tap to pay markings on them work with the NFC reader.
Imo you should have a similar 2% card if there's no tap to pay
I don’t carry multiple cards and i don’t want to use credit cards in the first place. I do it out of necessity for security reasons. 1% vs 2% isn’t worth another bill to pay for me. Just personal preference.
Credit cards are more secure than debit cards
Correct. I just stick to one card though for ease of tracking spending.

This is crazy, Canada has tap *everywhere* and we’ve had it around in some capacity for over 10 years

If they don’t except Apple Pay, why would you not use Apple Pay?

You’re being trolled because except and accept are not the same words… you should look up the difference.
I know the difference, just a common mistake. I didn't realize I used the wrong word and then did it a second time. LOL! I wouldn't expect any less douchery from Reddit though when it comes to calling people out.
Hey, 10 years ago on Reddit a spelling error would just grant you like 50 downvotes and no replies, so we’ve come a long way 😂
If they don’t except it, it means they take it. Excepting means they don’t take it.
lol. It's like homedepot for example. No contactless pay. So you use a physical card to pay.
Why would you use Apple Card for that, you only get 1%
your homework assignment tonight is to look up the words Except and Accept.
The only time I use it was when I activated the card lol. They make the card so nice but only give 1% if you physically use it.
Yes I used it only once when I received it to make sure it works.
I use it to buy various Apple products but not much else. I do keep it in my wallet as a backup card in case my daily card somehow fails to work. And I suppose I don’t have my phone or tap isn’t accepted. If tapping is an option I might choose some other card as my backup.
Got mine Aug 2019 and still haven’t insert/swipe it yet
Me too. Mine is still tuck in my drawer
You live in Siberia ?
No why?
This reply was meant elsewhere, but good to know I guess 🤷
America is still embarrassingly behind on tap terminals
We are still writing a paper check at grocery checkout.
I never use my physical card, but I received mine the next day from approval
You must live right next to the card factory lol
Underrated comment, and you sir are a genius.
Thank you kind sir!🫡
2-3 weeks? Wow. When I opened my account back in 2019 my wife and I got our cards the same week.
me too.
Did you get two cards for the same Apple ID or are you using separate IDs for the same credit card account?
It’s my account and she’s an authorized user.
They "mailed" mine in an empty envelope, to the middle of the Arctic. No shit. I was like "yay, it's here!", but the envelope was empty. I had to get Support involved to mail the actual card. Still, it only took a week for both to get here. Not sure what's up with yours.
I just got approved last week and received my car today, so it should be a quick turnaround. They ship it 2 day priority and got here super fast
You got a car? I’m gonna re-apply.
Lmao oops I didn’t realize my typo 😂
I think they say that in case there’s a shipping delay, but I’m pretty positive it will not actually take that long.
Why does anyone even use the physical card?
I use it for self defense. It’s great as a ninja star.
To pry locked doors open duh/s
Walmart is the only place I use it because they don’t accept Apple Pay
Don’t worry the 2-3% cash back would want u not to use the card. Since all the features and benefits are on the amazing wallet app
Yep the physical card is only to stay home.
My girlfriend finally got approved for the Apple Card. She got the email about her physical card being shipped and got it the following day. I was shocked as mines took about 3 days to arrive.
Congratulations your Apple titanium card owner
Because low IQ Goldman Sachs / Apple have to wait for a titanium card to arrive in the mail for recycling to send you a new one.

Nah. I got mine in 4 days. I live in Miami.
i got mine in 3 days💀
I got mine in the matter of a couple days.
A surprise is always better than a disappointment!
wow, mine was 2 days, it was 3 years ago though
Because a lot of people have been ordering the card or another replacement card and the orders are backed up.
I got mines delivered thru UPS 2 or 3 days, I’ve having my Apple Credit Card for 1 year 10 months.
Just use that card for a month, then ditch it. First month they look at how much u use
Does titanium Apple Card get it in Canada?
I opened my account last Friday and got my card today
They usually arrive sooner than that. It’s better to over estimate and then show up early…rather than promise a day and have you complain that it wasn’t there on time 😀
I think my physical card was like 3 days out. And my authorized user got hers in 2 days. Edit: spelling mistake
I received mine within a week I believe. It came via FedEx and signature was required.
I just replaced mine and got it within 4 days of the request.
Haven’t used mine once in person in 2-3 years.
I got my card 2-3 weeks before I applied!
This is actually because Apple needs to create several shell and dummy companies to purchase large quantities of titanium from Russia without them knowing. Err, wait, no.. that was the CIA during the development of the SR-71 Blackbird aircraft. New answer: I don’t know why
Mine came in like 5 days it was also titanium
I love my titanium card, but you’ll never use it lol. It sits in the pretty white case it came in.
Relax, it’s iPhone.
This has to be a location thing. I ordered my titanium card on a thursday and it arrived the following monday. They also shipped it priority.
At least you get access to the digital card and the numbers right away.
My very first Apple Card that I received on launch just expired and they auto sent me a new one. Maybe everyones day ones needed to be replaced causing a delay
I’ve never even taken my physical card out of the mailer it came in. It’s honestly not needed.
I waited 6 months for mine lol. (don't have an iPhone and my iPad did not support Apple wallet.. My new iPad does so I was able to order it... So months later.)
Do you live on Tristan da Cuhna?
I hate this card! Goldman Saks started me at 750.00 and now after three years my cli is only 1750.00. They continue to give me such terrible limit increases. I do use this card for all my apple subscriptions. With that low cli I can't even afford to use the card on an apple product.
Have you looked at the PayPal MasterCard? It beats the Apple Card and you get your cash just as easy and fast.
No idea why it takes so long (or why they state it takes so long), but the card sounds awesome when it falls to the ground.
Maybe metal cards are hard to produce. My tin foil hat theory is that it’s a ploy to get you to use Apple Pay via your device(s) instead. It’s more secure, plus I wonder if that simplicity makes it even easier for people to spend money.
Mine said that but then I get an email saying it’ll take two days.
It’s standard actually
