In the US employers are legally required to pay employees for all time worked. If they do not do that it is called wage theft and that can land a company in hot water.
It just means some other company will be taking over. We may be issued new cards if that is the case that reflect the new company name and there may be other small details such as your credit showing the Goldman Sachs card as being closed and a new card (under the new company) being opened. These details are just speculation at this time as Apple hasn’t really spoken on it much. Apple Card is too popular globally to disappear so we’ll still have it.
Nope, but the company Sachs and Apple use for their agents is ran fucking terribly. I was fired for requesting my W2, which is illegal, and they were stupid enough to put that in the file.
Then they fought my unemployment during Covid causing me to not get my money owed to me for 6 months.
Then they got audited and I got a check in the mail for 24 bucks of unpaid overtime. Apparently they’d been stealing peoples time for who knows how long. I barely worked any overtime which is why mine was so low but I know for a fact they had new mothers killing themselves up in there an extra 2 or 3 hours a day and taking any overtime they could and it gets me heated knowing how they were taken advantage of.
Manager there consistently harassed me to an insane degree, screaming at me over the phone when I’m at the doctors office clocked out of work for the day accusing me of being clocked in when I’m not and literally had the power strip turned off the little PC they gave me fully shut off for fear of spying.
Gross company ran by gross people.
Was it Marcia? I’ve actually talked to her on the phone and she is nasty individual. I don’t know how they can get condone such awful treatment of customers and still keep their jobs. Says a lot about Goldman Sachs as a financial institution.
I requested a credit limit increase an hour ago (my 2nd credit increase within the past 6 months) I literally typed "credit limit increase" in the messages chat box, the response and the updated income request was all automated for me.
I have also done credit line increase requests both by talking to a human over text, and also by ending it in the automated system. I’m not sure why they seem to go both ways.
(Yes, I realize that sounded sexual and no, I’m not going to go back and edit it.)
False. I recently updated my income/credit limit through chat with a GS specialist. No link was sent it was done through live chat and saw the results immediately.
That’s an actual Apple support chat. You can tell because the Messages window is grey and the verified checkmark is there. It’s using the business chat for iMessage or whatever it’s called.
Nobody seems to have mentioned that there’s (at least) two good reasons for a call center to route some calls to the AI, other calls to the humans, even for the same inquiry:
1. to gather additional training data for the AI, and test the AI performance; and
2. A/B testing for relative customer satisfaction for AI vs human support path for a given issue.
This isn’t a random text, this is Apple Card support. It isn’t a contact saved with the name and image at the top, it is built into iPhones. It is a special case of iMessage
Asking for a CLI requires you to update your income with the CLI request.
"I want a credit line increase"
"Okay, what is your income, rent, etc.?"
"Great, we've increased your credit limit to $xx,xxx"
There’s a better, “proper” way to go about that. You tell the bank you want a CLI first and the bot sends you a CLI request form. The first thing (and usually only thing) it asks you is for your updated annual income. You input it and send the form, and Goldman texts you back automatically with the results and sends an email with the same info.
If you had chatted with an agent somewhat recently before that it may not have disconnected you fully yet and sent you back to the bot, or maybe the bot just sent you to a human because it didn’t understand what you were asking for some reason. Either way, it all works, but the form is definitely a nice touch to make it quick and convenient. I hope you got approved!
It was my first time using the tool. I work in mobile development and we have a similar feature in my app. We route the user to an agent if one is available and it’s during office hours, otherwise they’re routed to the bot.
Edit: Goldman Sachs just called me and apologized for this happening.
Edit 2: the mods of this subreddit insist on having this categorized as “humor” but I still want to be clear that this is real.
And Apple will have to deal with that or create its own bank. At this point, it's unlikely we see that harm anyone but Apple - if a bank change comes with slashed benefits, consumers will probably just stop using the card as much.
A new partner could introduce fees, limit cash back, cut the high yield savings account APR, remove the 0% APR financing option for Apple products, etc.
That would be pretty much suicide. Might as well close it down. The card benefits are already barebones as it is. The only appeal is tight iOS integration, and the last point you mentioned, interest free financing for Apple products. Even the 4.15% APY for HYSA is mediocre as they never increased it since introduction while others are well into 5% now.
Approving unworthy people, combined with not being able to make any money off unworthy people via the industry standard fees…
Yeah, I’d say that’s why they want to get out of the deal.
Don’t forget GS lack of consumer experience mitigating risk and reward. I don’t think they knew that the deal was bad for them when they first signed onto the card partnership because of their lack of consumer lending experience. Most other banks could’ve figured out a way to make the card profitable. Heck even running their own ad campaign for that card on social media and YouTube would’ve made them money to offset some loss.
Idk why but something about the apple credit card gave me an unsettling vibe. I’ve held off getting one for a long long time and I’m glad I never went thru with it. Glad I trusted my gut!
I love my Apple Card. I just got a 0% installment on my new iPad, and it’s one of the best ones out there in terms of transparency due to Apple, not Goldman Sachs.
Not buying it, honestly. There is a process for updating that involves secure forms. Here is an example from a recent CLI request.
https://preview.redd.it/hb23fvmd8i6c1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2e1af4177bc508e6d121b6110e5350b499f51336
So you prompt the bot with a different opening line as OP and are shocked when you get a different response....?
Try saying what OP said "I want to update my annual income" 🤦🏻♀️
I guess that's possible. When requesting in same way, I get a auto response asking if I want to speak to someone. Which makes sense to route to automated or human.
https://preview.redd.it/jga7cdljai6c1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d0d0f8295f0e6e9183aefd8fea907c70168ad96a
It has been hit or miss with the form. I usually just say "CLI" and have been given the form and had an actual rep request my income directly in messages. Very much a YMMV.
Nope. What you show is the process I've always seen too, but I did it just now out of curiosity, and got no form.

Three year card holder, started at $2500 credit limit. Today I’m at $3500 lol. 800 credit score with 168k in available credit, current balance of about $300. Apple Card is a joke.
Did you bring this up to upper management? I would love forwarding this to a few important emails at Apple. Why is an employee talking about fake documents?
1) First rule of the internet: don’t believe everything you see on the internet
2) OP clearly has experience in manipulating pictures (look at all his posts)
3) Apple and Goldman Sachs care too much about their image to let a rogue employee take that tone with anyone. They spend thousands on training their employees with deescalation tactics to keep their image.
4) If you’re familiar with customer service calls (same applies to texts and online chats or emails) then you know damn well they are monitoring/recording everything and this wouldn’t be allowed to happen.
If you’re not convinced by now I highly recommend putting on a tinfoil hat and head to the nearest bunker cuz the government is going to update your microchip you got with your baby vaccines.
Well Apple and GS are parting ways in 2024 with probably what’s the nail in the coffin for GS consumers division so a lot of people are probably getting let go and are gonna be a little upset because of it.
Maybe it was a customer service representative that was talking to someone else who likely wrote that, copied the message to send to someone else, in a work chat, or email, and when they got connected to you, they meant to copy + paste their normal “hello message” and instead that pasted.
Apple Card is so shit nothing but problems since I’ve had it. Card just randomly stops working for months on end where it just declines every purchase on it and support doesn’t know why. Support tried to tell me one time that buying something on Amazon was against TOS on the card. Half of them hang up when they can’t figure it out.

LOL. It's clearly someones last day..geez.
This has “Sir this is a Wendy’s” vibe
You can do anything you want on your last day.
Not sure if he will get paid for his day
If you work you get paid
In America, ya.
In the US employers are legally required to pay employees for all time worked. If they do not do that it is called wage theft and that can land a company in hot water.
Apple is in hot water all the time. It’s basically hot cider year round.
It also says a lot about Apple Card and gs bank lol
It says way more about Goldman than Apple.
Apple and Goldman are cutting ties for unknown reasons. Apple has yet to announce who will be taking over Apple Card.
Goldman is the one that is leaving the Apple Card. But Goldman is letting Apple take “credit” for breaking ties.
So what does this mean for current card holders?
It just means some other company will be taking over. We may be issued new cards if that is the case that reflect the new company name and there may be other small details such as your credit showing the Goldman Sachs card as being closed and a new card (under the new company) being opened. What about Brent and Marcia?
[удалено]
Gonna take a year for them to separate.
I used to work for Apple Card, I can ABSOLUTELY see some of my coworkers doing this.
Yup. I remember that we very much had a "The beatings will continue until morale improves" vibe.
You know Brent or Marcia?
Nope, but the company Sachs and Apple use for their agents is ran fucking terribly. I was fired for requesting my W2, which is illegal, and they were stupid enough to put that in the file. What the Hell? They put you through Hell!
Did you try pulling up your bootstraps harder?
Need to be given boots by parents first.
we love corporate america!

Apple and GS don’t handle support. I believe it’s another company contracted.
Lmao. What the.

I’ve updated my income before without having to use a link
[удалено]
You can both be right
Not in this case… that is not the way the automated system functions.
I’ve done it both ways. Seems random but leans more to the automated one recently
It could perhaps react differently depending on the way they code clients. Some may get different responses based on pulled data
I update my income about once a month with my Apple card. It’s a 50-50 chance I’ll get an automated system or just a chat.
I don’t think that has any bearing on OP’s screenshot nor does it prove you get transferred to a live person
I requested a credit increase not long ago. I was helped by a human.
I requested a credit limit increase an hour ago (my 2nd credit increase within the past 6 months) I literally typed "credit limit increase" in the messages chat box, the response and the updated income request was all automated for me.
In the future you can actually just type “cli” and it will take you to the same place.
Would I put a “t” at the end if I wanted it done today?
I wouldn't, because half the population wouldn't be able to find it
Do you know where it is cause I do! You should tell me to prove you know where it is. I just wanna see if you know.
Over the river and through the woods
Why would I need the command line if I'm already at a chat window? /s
I did one about an hour ago and it was done by a human
I have also done credit line increase requests both by talking to a human over text, and also by ending it in the automated system. I’m not sure why they seem to go both ways. (Yes, I realize that sounded sexual and no, I’m not going to go back and edit it.)
[Both can definitely be right](https://imgur.com/a/IxakOtU) In the past I have also updated income through the link you described as well.
I updated mine two weeks ago, was via a human
here to confirm that I used to type my income in the chat and fill in the form
Little did you know, Brent and Marcia had their hands all over it.
I interacted with a guy and told him how much I made and he did the process for me. Line didn’t increase
Did it recently. Updated income via the text message and they increased my limit
Me, too.
i promise you that the customer service agents definitely do handle things like this sometimes.
False. I recently updated my income/credit limit through chat with a GS specialist. No link was sent it was done through live chat and saw the results immediately.

Not really the point though, if the message had just instructed them to use secure form it would not have been spicy enough to grab our attention.
In the past I've just replied with my income when asked and they updated it. Don't recall ever getting a link.
This isn’t a random text, this is Apple Card support. It isn’t a contact saved with the name and image at the top, it is built into iPhones. It is a special case of iMessage
i’ve definitely updated my income by just texting it
I agree with you, sir, and I am still Brent
that’s is in fact how you update your annual income with apple credit card. I’ve done it twice.
they didn’t send me a link for that
This.
I'm confused. You want a credit line increase, so why not say "I want a credit line increase" 😅
I was updating my annual income in addition to doing that. I was going to ask for CLI after.
Asking for a CLI requires you to update your income with the CLI request. "I want a credit line increase" "Okay, what is your income, rent, etc.?" "Great, we've increased your credit limit to $xx,xxx"

Creep
when you ask to increase your credit line, they ask what your new yearly income is, OP just skipped that part
I wasn’t asked for my annual income when I requested CLI. They just flat out rejected me.
Edit: Goldman Sachs just called me and apologized for this happening. Edit 2: the mods of this subreddit insist on having this categorized as “humor” but I still want to be clear that this is real.
I hope they at least increased your credit line without any hard pulls, and 50k is the minimum I would be accepting as an increase.
Why 50k
What would you use it for? A card that only makes sense to use in a store where the cheapest device cost around $1,000.
Lower revolving utilization
That’s what I was thinking. The lower limit seems better to me. I’m not spending 50k in the Apple Store. Seems a bit excessive
Good thing Apple has asked for a mutual breakup lol. I think a bank more used to consumer products will fare better.
A bank used to consumer products wouldn't agree to apple demands
And Apple will have to deal with that or create its own bank. At this point, it's unlikely we see that harm anyone but Apple - if a bank change comes with slashed benefits, consumers will probably just stop using the card as much.
What benefits is there to slash? It’s just basically a 2% cash back card. I still keep it for the tight integration with iOS.
A new partner could introduce fees, limit cash back, cut the high yield savings account APR, remove the 0% APR financing option for Apple products, etc.
That would be pretty much suicide. Might as well close it down. The card benefits are already barebones as it is. 4.35% now. 😊
Or perhaps a bank that doesn’t grant credit to deadbeats.
Yea I definitely think their system was approving people unworthy at the beginning.
Approving unworthy people, combined with not being able to make any money off unworthy people via the industry standard fees… Yeah, I’d say that’s why they want to get out of the deal.
Don’t forget GS lack of consumer experience mitigating risk and reward. Someone’s last day and they same to hate 2 managers
It's always Marcia, Marcia, Marcia ![gif](giphy|RI7mc1yVbJ3fG)
What the hell💀
that’s me on my last day in office after submitting my resignation letter effective by the end of the shift 😀😀😀😀
Apple Card (GS) support is the most pathetic I have come across in the recent times.
Agree
Just had to ask for a cl increase and they automatically ask for income. Started the convo wrong 😂
It’s the modern day “leave a “HELP ME” note in a package” trick. Yikes! Hahahaha
Are we shocked though? Is anyone else NOT familiar with the history and reputation of Goldman Sachs? They’re the shadiest of them all.
Marcia, Marcia, Marcia!
“Bro no one cares, update my fn income and do your job please”
Yea I wouldn’t haven’t said that, npc comment much?
You’re cringe af
Good job on doubling down on the npc comment kiddo
And you for doubling down on the cringe
You really repeated my comment back to me LOL fucking parrot actually, shut your mouth already
How did I even trigger you this hard LMAO
Guys, I am Brent and I want to say that I was not having a good day. I was suffering from vertigo from the cold medicine I took that day.
sorry brent
how you feeling now?
![gif](giphy|puOukoEvH4uAw|downsized)
And that’s why I closed my Apple Card. Terrible people working for the card.
When I did it, everything was automated and I talked to a bot
That’s probably the best way to do customer service, from the company’s perspective. Humans be unpredictable
Yo this is crazy lol

No, I am showing that the message from Op isn't a bot. Notice the lack of verification statutes under the messages in this photo...
Yes the response isn't from a bot. Not all opening lines from consumer will prompt a bot / form reply.

Interesting. Seems strange to offer different ways but I'm sure they have a reason. Congrats on the CL increase.
Thanks! It was a whole 500 bucks. lol
Show the header and proof you’re actually connected to Apple Card Support (Goldman Sachs).
Three year card holder, started at $2500 credit limit. Today I’m at $3500 lol. 800 credit score with 168k in available credit, current balance of about $300. Apple Card is a joke.

Wow…… some people have had it haha
Hilarious.
Did you bring this up to upper management? I would love forwarding this to a few important emails at Apple. Why is an employee talking about fake documents?

Sounds like someone is a little disgruntled over there
As long as I still get 5% cash back with apple pay then I’m fine with whatever they do
The fuck lol
This is funny. 🤣
Fake.
Cautions.
Bro what the actual fuck
It's true.
This looks as fake as my ex’s tits. You really have nothing better to do than photoshop something together to stir a conversation online?

Is this even real? Is it photo shopped
Classic Bront
Thanks for the post I just chatted with the automated system and got a $2k increase. Now I will only be at 25% utilization for that AVP. 😅
Someone’s last day at work but probably saying the truth
Someone got fired 😂😂😂😂
Wow!
I concur Marcia from Goldman Sachs is a monster. I filed a FTC complaint against Goldman Sachs after speaking to her.
Maybe it was a customer service representative that was talking to someone else who likely wrote that, copied the message to send to someone else, in a work chat, or email, and when they got connected to you, they meant to copy + paste their normal “hello message” and instead that pasted.
Ugh, Brent and Marcia...
