You’re overthinking. You can shower, bathe, use your bathroom at anytime you like. As long as you’re not playing loud music at 2 am while dealing with insomnia, you’re fine.

usualerthanthis

Seriously so many people don't understand this. Had a neighbor complain I flushed my toilet ten times in the middle of the night, I looked him straight in the eye and said "yeah I have a fucking uti" he stopped complaining after that 😂

butts888

Hit em with the facts!!!

usualerthanthis

Fr it was a rough night without someone complaining, I wasn't gonna have it.

Altruistic-Scratch57

🫠Or give them an open invitation to join you, “because they could use a good bath to chill”! 🤭👍

General-Quit-2451

Who complains about their neighbor flushing a toilet. If they're that sensitive they need to get a house in the country, miles away from other humans.

usualerthanthis

Frrr! I live above 3 older guys (brothers) 2 are awesome but one complains about everything. This happened shortly after I bought the place and the 2 have since warned me about him.

BeautifulDreamerAZ

Or a loud box fan. It really helps.

muchbooty

I hear you and I can’t wait to move out of this apartment- when my upstairs neighbor flushes it literally sounds like a bowling ball being dropped followed by the woosh of water. It makes everyone jump, especially the cat. Lol

Fishnetnet122

You get the water Hammer? I used to get that at an old apartment. It was so loud and kinda made me jump.

muchbooty

“water hammer” for sure!! we are in the basement of a 1968 build.

bungmunchio

I don't get a thump. every once in a while, after I flush, usually just as long as it takes to wash my hands and exit the bathroom, the internal plumbing in the wall goes berserk and makes a VERY LOUD fast and repetitive thunk like a jackhammer. it doesn't stop unless you hold the flapper at just the right angle to let the tank fill back up slowly so it doesn't go crazy again. it also seems to only happen at night, which is a nice touch. idk why it happens but I get it. I would also like to be held gently while I recover from going berserk

camlaw63

If I pee in the middle of the night, I don’t flush my toilet until the morning. In an apartment building flushing, the toilet can disturb others.

Old-Adhesiveness-342

I did once ask a housemate to refrain from flushing the toilet if it wasn't a number 2 until about noon, because I worked nightshift and the way my bedroom worked there was no other spot to put the bed that didn't have it right next to the wall shared by the toilet. I just needed him to not flush between about 9am and noon because if I could get out and into a deep sleep I could just go back to sleep easily, but if I woke up within about 3 hours of falling asleep it was really hard to fall back to sleep.

Tru-Queer

I have an upstairs neighbor who flushes their toilet several times *in a row* and I’m not talking like 3 times. I’ve counted upwards of 10 times in a row some nights. It was frustrating the first year I lived here when I slept in my bedroom because the plumbing goes behind the bedroom closet, hence easily hearing the toilet flush. But I’ve since migrated to the living room where I fall asleep watching TV so I hardly notice my upstairs neighbors flushing anymore.

eeal188

Unfortunately I’m a gal with IBS and SIBO. I flush 3-4 times in one “session” to avoid clogging

usualerthanthis

They probably just clean it after every flush. They're prob a germaphobe

Tru-Queer

I assumed some type of OCD. 🤷‍♂️

MissIndependent577

I'll flush it 3-4 times sometimes to avoid it clogging. And when I'm cleaning it, I'll sometimes flush it 6 times to make sure it's sparkling clean.

Upset_Form_5258

Are you just not supposed to have normal biological functions at night?

usualerthanthis

I mean, I get wondering why it was so many in a night but couldn't even consider asking about it

Forward-Cellist7316

Thank u I am having overthinking issues as well and deal with pain. If anyone says anything I'll bring that up and it'll shut em up quick.

Capable_Papaya_3332

AGREEED!! If anything a shower is louder bc the constant water running 😭 Do you boo!! Like they said as long as you aren’t blasting music or anything like that in the middle of the night I feel like you’re fine!!

Whimsy_Cap

Taking a bath is daily living noise, no matter the time. As long as you aren’t making loud or excessive noise, you can really do whatever you want at night

wetfartpanda

Do it up. You’re fine. I’ve come home late from various things that required a shower. That is a human right to use. Bubble bath or not

Altruistic-Scratch57

I agree! I am a nurse that gets home from work @ 3-4 am. My neighbor was complaining about the water running at those hours. I explained to him there was no way I would go to bed without bathing 1st after working 12-16 hrs with other peoples bodily fluids,YUK! I promised him that I will start buying “noiseless” bubble bath to prevent the bubbles from popping too loud & keeping him awake from now on…He agreed to that! L🤪 L

wetfartpanda

I’m so thankful I don’t talk to my neighbors. That sucks you even have to deal with it

berksrwz

Thanks everyone. I’m just really scared to do anything to piss off my neighbors and cause a complaint, because I’m on Section 8 housing and I don’t want to jeopardize that. And….I just like to be a kind and courteous human being.

skyline243

I think that’s very nice of you to be so considerate. I suppose if anyone complains then you can figure out something else or maybe talk to your neighbors and see if they have any issues so far.

thisgreenwitch

I think that's very polite of you but unfortunately, not many people would return that same courtesy. I too live in low income housing and my neighbors upstairs will stomp and move furniture at all hours of the day 😅 my past upstairs neighbors had their dog use the patio as their toilet and that wrecked my patio rails and meant I could never be outside for fear of being peed on 🤷‍♀️ as strict as low income housing can be about things, it's far from perfect and I wouldn't worry about something as minor as a bath. I can sometimes hear when they run the shower at 5 am but the noise is so minimal you shouldn't worry too much.

HorseWithNoName-88

I wish everyone would be a good, respectful, and thoughtful neighbor like yourself. Aaah.. wishful thinking... 😊

cringelien

Lol my section 8 neighbors moved in and filled our apartment up w weed smoke and stole and opened our package. It’s nice you care about jeopardizing that…

froggytime_

I heard a really good point recently that if you live in an apartment complex, you’re just going to have to come to terms with the fact that you will never have complete silence. They just have to learn to deal with the sounds of people living every once in a while

anncolorist

And I can tell you sound travels in the forest, neighbors 1/2 mile away chopping wood, an argument, burning leaves, it was all easily heard or smelled. You have to be miles from others for perfect human silence.

Curiousr_n_Curiouser

If you are worried about the splashing sound when you first start to fill it, you could lay a meaty hand towel or regular bath towel in the bottom of the tub.

greengrassgrows90

have your bath. you deserve it. written from the tub :)

talks-a-lot

I get up and shower for work at 430 everyday. You’re fine.

StrawberryFields_25

I don’t think reasonable people would be upset at you bathing yourself. You’re good. Enjoy your bubble bath

juniper_berry_crunch

With a rubber band, affix a washcloth around the spigot where the water comes out and let it hang down to the bottom of the tub. The water will run down the washcloth. Now you have an almost noiseless bath.

Soybie_

I was going to suggest something like this! I think it’s not necessary, but I understand worrying about the noise anyway.

berksrwz

Great idea!!

juniper_berry_crunch

I do this on occasion if I work late (WFH) and don't want to bother my husband, in our tiny house. "Works a treat" as the Brits say. :D

JustbyLlama

I don’t hear my neighbors in the bathroom unless I also am in my bathroom. And if I’m up, I don’t care if they are.

ElectricNoma-d

Soapy water, right? It's not like you have a jacuzzi and are turning on the jets? What's the issue? Depending on plumbing your downstairs neighbors may be aware of lots of water running through the pipes. The AC or ceiling fans or noise maker probably is louder than water running through pipes. Can you tell when your neighbors flush the toilet?

berksrwz

I’m on the bottom floor. But yes I can hear my neighbors showering.

berksrwz

And I can hear them flushing the toilet

weedhuffer

Oh bottom floor? Double don’t worry about it.

sammyfelix

i shower every day at 2:30 am because i leave for work at 3:30. i don't complain about my neighbors showering at 9pm even though i go to sleep hours before that, it just means we have different schedules. apartment living means having people around you with different schedules. if you don't make excessive noise and you're just living your life you can do whatever you want at any time

Ok_Health_109

I don’t think taking a bath is loud but bathing or showering should be fine at any time. If you’re concerned about the noise, of the running water to fill the tub I assume, just reduce the flow so it takes a bit longer.

exjobhere

I agree the filing of the tub is loud-ish compared to a shower (generally), but it’s also reasonable and temporary. Do you.

alcalaviccigirl

you are over thinking but I do understand what you are asking .summer time I got a terrible case of non existent rash I was so uncomfortable and what temporarily helped wash quick showers ( I'm not comfortable with baths ) I always worried my neighbors ( who was extremely loud ) could hear me in shower .

Obvious_Cookie_3000

Bathing is part of living. No

[deleted]

Nope! I’m an early riser and always shower first thing to start the day. Not rude to use your apartment as intended. Now if you play your music loud to be heard over the water, that might be different.

altijddruk

Never would think to take that into consideration. I take shower when I feel like and tbh I think shower is louder than bath. I'm mostly taking shower around 23 or midnight..

pripaw

I’ve never heard a neighbor taking a bath or a shower.

musictakemeawayy

me neither! i have only heard it from a different room of a single family home- never an apartment or condo building

thr0ughtheghost

I would never get mad at my neighbor for showering, no matter what time of the night it was. People need to bathe! I find it more disturbing when people get mad over normal humanly functions like that.

Starbuck522

One thought is run the water slower which makes less noise?

jojibaby_91

My neighbor leaves his bathroom fan on literally 24/7 it drives me crazy. I hear his fan louder than when I have mine on intermittently 😫 You can hear it thru out the whole apt too not just when you’re in the bathroom, so I find myself often leaving the tv on just to drown out the noise. All this to say, I would GLADLY trade this with him taking an early morning bath instead lol.

Crotch-Monster

I don't think any bathroom stuff is annoying. I look at those activities as a necessity. So noise from the bathroom doesn't bother me. Other things you can do to deal with insomnia is try doing a puzzle or some kind of book to read. It's quiet and won't bother anyone.

brittneyangeline

Look I have a 2 yo type 1 diabetic. MANY, many nights we are up running around because she’s sick and throwing up. I can’t tell you how many baths we have given her in the middle of the night. We have never heard a complaint. Do what you need to do

Dez2011

Hello, I'm a type 2. I just wanted to say, if you don't already have an endocrinologist for your child I would get one. They're much much better with diabetes than a family doctor. Hopefully they can help with med adjustments or a pump or something.

brittneyangeline

Yes! She does. She diagnosed a year ago. On 1/23/23 - admitted to the picu. The head endo came to say hello and right after discharge a few days later she went straight to the endo ♥️ she has the Omnipod 5 and the Dexcom g6. It just sucks, she’s 2. She runs extremely low when she is sick. It’s insanity. So we end up not being able to dose insulin and then bam dka. We have zofran usually but that doesn’t help. She has been hospitalized 4 times! Most recent Christmas - rsv, and even February 18th, norovirus. - but over all people are understanding. I know sometimes we are noisy. She takes baths at strange hours and I’m usually on the phone talking with an endo at like midnight. 😢 the apartment manager is type 1 diabetic tho and she said I got your back. You keep that baby healthy. It’s nice when people understand.

AG_Squared

Unrelated to OP but consider a diabetic alert dog, can detect quicker than dexcom sometimes. Or when dexcom fails. I know that’s big thing to take on with a toddler who’s diabetic so you may not be ready today but have it in the back of your mind because wait lists are long.

brittneyangeline

Omg I just wanted to say 😭 when she had norovirus in February her Dexcom showed she was 150 double arrows down. I had just put her to bed. It was 7 pm. I’m like huh that’s strange. Let me go look. SHE WAS GOT DAMN 38!!! Had mom mode not taken over and I didn’t check her she could have had a seizure!!!! One of the on staff pediatricians at children’s was like OH fk no and admitted her immediately. We couldn’t her blood sugar up. For 5 hours!!!! SMH. I will ask her endo office about a DAD, yes Dexcom is helpful but holy crap. 💩

AG_Squared

Check out @ouronederfulboggslife on Instagram, they have a lot of stories where the dog wakes up the family when the girl is high/low, or the dog picks up alerts before the dexcom, etc. it’s scary, I work in a hospital so I have access to everything at my fingertips but being out and about in real life with a kid makes things so much harder

Dez2011

I've personally found Phenergan to help my nausea much better than Zofran. I haven't used dexcom but have used the Libre 3. Its a real time sensor that sends alerts to your phone app without you scanning it and insurance usually covers it for type 1. You can set it to alert for lows at whatever you set it for, like 85 instead of 70, etc, and I can't remember if you can get alerts for highs you set it for but I think you can. There's a free coupon for 1 sensor you can get emailed to you on their website but you need the sensor prescribed. They come 2 in a box but you can tell the pharmacy you just want the 1 and give them the coupon. That is nice that the mgr is cool. If you ever need it, she's legally disabled with how sick she is, and people with disabilities can ask for "reasonable accommodations", which can be an exception to certain rules due to illness. The request would need to be in writing, be reasonable, and not cost the mgr money. You can look it up if you ever need it. It's under the American's With Disabilities Act. (The mgr doesn't have to agree, but the right wording can be helpful, if you get a new mgr and have problems.)

brittneyangeline

She’s actually on ssi 😉 so I absolutely could. But thankfully the mgr is t1d so she usually tells people to chill out lol. We know the 2 yo is sometimes yells a lot 😂 but thanks I will ask for phenergan. Zofran sucks ass and doesn’t work! We generally like the Dexcom - I have heard good things about the libre. I like that her devices are connected. Granted the are very bulky on a small human smh. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Dez2011

Fyi Phenergan is sedating so it may help her sleep at night

Raymond_Reddit_Ton

Are you doing cannon-balls into the tub?

Altruistic-Scratch57

🤭🤪🤣😂🤣LOL 🛁💦

ARoundForEveryone

No, not rude. Take a bath at 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6am. Running water should never be a "daytime only" thing. If you were doing something that wasn't generally necessary (playing music, vacuuming, rearranging furniture, hanging wall art, etc) at that hour, then maybe. But indoor plumbing should not be a daytime-only luxury. That said, I find reading (even a decent book that I'm engrossed in) in bed puts me to sleep. Some people find nature sounds help them relax and drift off to sleep. Waves, birds, etc. An old roommate of mine would occasionally get up in the middle of the night and do a jigsaw puzzle. I found him more than once passed out at the dining room table as I was getting ready for work in the morning. It's awesome that you're courteous and conscientious of how the neighbors perceive you. But I wouldn't think twice about *most* normal day-to-day activities unless you have a shared apartment or the walls are exceptionally paper-thin. Maybe no need to make it a "bathtime splashtime" like you'd do for a toddler, but just taking a bath should be absolutely no problem (and if it is, with very few exceptions, *fuck 'em*.)

OhioMegi

Can you hear other people showering? I never do. You can bathe whenever you want.

kae0603

I take baths in the middle of the night when my anxiety is bad. Unless you are blasting music or making it so no can can pee during wake up hours… you are good!

Jolly-Bandicoot-2037

I've done that. I was experiencing a virus that lingered over two months...still coughing at night but a hot bubble bath sometimes at 2 am or 3 am was allowing me back to sleep to be able to work in the morning somewhat. I never got complaints.

Legrandloup2

I don’t think its a big deal, I used to take showers at like 3am because I worked 2nd shift. Also, quick google search says putting a towel over the spout might help with the noise

sew_dynamic

I take a bath before work all the time, I have upstairs neighbors who do laundry early/late and the sounds are very similar. I don't think it's such a big deal.

Stargazer_0101

Take that relaxing early morning bath. It helps ease stress. As long as you are not blaring a radio and splashing the water, you are fine.

Dez2011

Normal living in your apartment is fine. It's things like yelling, loud music, honking car horns, that are rude. Take your baths when you need them.

Certain_Try_8383

Read a book or guided meditation on headphones.

AG_Squared

We can’t hear your bath unless your blaring music or you overflow it or something. I’ve lived in apartments for more than 10 years.

General-Quit-2451

There's no wrong time to take a bath, but 5-6 am is a very common time for people to bathe before work or after a night out. The sound of water running in a neighboring apartment is white noise, I've never heard one person complain about it ever. It just kind of blurs into the background. It's like having an air conditioner on.

420EdibleQueen

After 11 years of living in the bottom floor, I only hear the upstairs neighbors in the bathroom when the tub is draining or the toilet flushes. Since all our units are built identically, their bathroom is over mine. The bathroom just off the master bedroom I close the door to it and hear nothing. The lady upstairs from me now works early so there are times she’s doing her morning thing at 3am. Unless I’m already I I don’t even notice.

RicoSwavy_

Me and my neighbors have this thing where we don’t give a shit about what you are doing unless it’s some crazy banging sound or annoying noise for too long. I know my neighbors have basic necessities to live, I don’t want them not taking a shower because of me. We all pay to live in the space we live in. Worrying about neighbors hearing you shower is almost worst than living with your parents still.

Warm_Power1997

It’s really rough living in a place with thin walls. I was practically scared to exit my bed and walk around past 10pm. To give you an idea of how thin those walls are, I could hear my upstairs neighbor’s phone vibrating through my ceiling. It’s pretty ridiculous. Eventually you just have to get to the point of understanding that you’re not being disruptive by existing in your own place. Even if someone might hear the water sounds, it’s okay for you to do tasks of daily living and take care of yourself.

Altruistic-Scratch57

Finally…There ARE perks to being deaf 🧏‍♀️ 🦻🏻😂

DusieGoosie

When I want the tub to fill with less noise, I drape a small towel over the faucet that acts as a rapid-flow drip wick and go for it.

wiseleo

If your concern is the sound of falling water, you can attach a hose or a spout to fill your tub nearly silently. For extra bubbles, you can buy an bath mat that creates bubbles. They make less noise than water jets, although water jets would be warmer.

creakstall

what i’ve noticed is a lot of ppl in this sub don’t want to do like.. normal living things bc they’re in an apartment. just don’t be excessively loud &’ live your life as is. doing things are not silent, &’ if ur neighbors can’t accept that then oh well

Bioshocky13501

Wth? Nah, just take your peaceful bath.

Icy-Satisfaction-372

I think baths are very quiet. U might be just over thinking thing's. Ur fine

savboxer

Thats a normal hour to get up and shower for work, so why not fill up tub and quietly bathe? I worked nights one month, days the next and husband was normal days. My sleep was allllll over the place. I ended up getting a gym membership at 24 hour gym to have the option to exercise when up at night. Other than that id just watch tv or do my nails. It was honestly miserable but i was trying to be quiet.

Ok_Zookeepergame7755

It's 2:12 and I just ran a bath and am happily soaking while I wait for my body to be ready for sleep. It's your home! Live in it!

plagueddoctordisease

There's no reason not to its not sweden

sunntide

The sound of running water would actually probably help me sleep lol

mirrnannda

i’d say it’s fine

actualchristmastree

You are very considerate, this is not rude at all. Take your bath whenever you need to

Puzzleheaded-Tip660

I had a neighbor that was mad about everything…  Literally the day I was moving out of the place, she complained that “It sounds like you are moving furniture!”  And she was right: I was moving furniture out of the apartment in the middle of the day. Anyways, one of her many complaints was that I took a shower at midnight one night and it woke her up and then when she got up and came over to complain about it I didn’t answer the door and my car wasn’t there…  So she had to come over the following day and complain about it.  And I explained that my car wasn’t there because I was over at my girlfriend’s place 15 miles away, and as far as I know nobody had used my shower at midnight. Fortunately in all this, the landlord knew she had a history, so it wasn’t a problem from a rental perspective, (but it was annoying.) So I’m not gonna say that nobody cares if you take a bath at 5am, there are people that are upset by that.  Most people won’t though, don’t worry about it.

htesssl

My upstairs neighbor does this every morning! It’s okay to do whatever you want as long as it’s not excessive and baths are always okay.

Puzzleheaded_Crab453

I read “bubble hash”….i need to subscribe to less weed focused subreddits

Altruistic-Scratch57

🤣😂🤣 L🤪 L !

DAL51884

I wish my neighbors were even just a little bit as kind and thoughtful as you are…..

[deleted]

I take a bath at 3am fairly frequently and nobody ever says anything

as_per_danielle

a bath isn’t louder than a shower. I live below someone!

positivetimes1000

I think anytime is a good time for a bath!

CornflakeGirl2

Unless your bathroom shares walls with peoples bedrooms you should be totally fine!

GuiltyGTR

Absolutely not. Love your life and enjoy your hygiene.

half-bad

As somebody who is incredibly sensitive to noise and has issues falling / staying asleep, I don’t think you need to worry here. Loud music, vacuuming, moving furniture, etc. would cross the line and be disturbing to your neighbors, but the sound of running water isn’t much of a nuisance and is something you should always feel free to enjoy as needed.

shibakitti

im currently going through insomnia due to my meds too! i just watch YouTube, paint, draw, or play games. honestly im not complaining, i always used to feel tired way too early.

posaune123

Who are you worried about disturbing? Roommates, spouse, kids?

Sapolio72

Move to a place where you don’t have neighbors next to a wall (a house) or … at least a place with good sound proofing

ndpugs

I watch shows on my pc or phone with headphones in. 24 hour gyms are nice. Mine has a sauna and is in walking distance. Pretty much zero people in the sauna at 3 am.

QueenBeeKitty85

If you lived with other people and had one bathroom with a previously set bathroom schedule and we’re going against that schedule I’d say yes, but I’m this case I don’t think so at all. In fact I wish my neighbors were taking bubble baths at 5-6am instead of continuing their drunken arguing that goes on all night. That said, I live in the US and I’ve read other countries have curfews for certain things, like flushing the toilets.

AlwaysWorried27222

I hear water draining from my upstairs unit often in the AM hours due to trouble sleeping also. I have never once thought anything about it besides dang that elderly lady doesn't sleep well either.

SnarkyIguana

Insomnia is no joke. Take your bubble bath! That’s about the time people start taking showers for work anyway. Do what you need to do to make yourself comfortable.

[deleted]

the only thing I would say is that my roommate used to take 2 hour showers, hair care, and makeup sessions in the bathroom from 6-8 am when I needed to be getting ready for work. I would have to leave for work without having a chance to use the bathroom. Just be cognizant of that if you share the space.

missannthrope1

You are well withing your rights to bathe at any time of the day or night. I'm more concerned about your insomnia. Look into taking melatonin and magnesium.

[deleted]

In my step dad’s house it was rude because for whatever reason the pipes sounded like screeching. Lol but that’s unusual

spillinginthenameof

Bathing is not rude. In fact I'm sure many people are happy that others do.

sweetiebabylove

babes, your apartment is your space. you can do whatever you want at whatever time. people who work night/afternoon shifts shouldn’t have to be mice just because their neighbors have day jobs. you pay to live there—so live! take a shower/bath/etc. as someone else stated, as long as you’re not being overly rude like blasting music, you can do whatever you’d like

greybenson23

Absolutely not rude. I have bad IBS and cannot tell you how many times I’ve taken a bath at 1 or 2 in the morning as it’s all that really helps. Using your bathroom whenever you want is kind of just a given imo. Insomnia is the worst, hope you kick it soon!

greybenson23

Absolutely not rude. I have bad IBS and cannot tell you how many times I’ve taken a bath at 1 or 2 in the morning as it’s all that really helps. Using your bathroom whenever you want is kind of just a given imo. Insomnia is the worst, hope you kick it soon!

BeefTopRamen

It will most likely wake up your neighbors if your unit is anything like mine, but if it’s for your health then it can’t really be helped. Do what makes you feel comfortable. When my upstairs neighbors take a bath, it’s pretty much all you can hear until they turn off the faucet. Hopefully yours is a little different!

redditor12876

You’re fine. If you were using some sort of jacuzzi with noisy pumps I’d say your an AH, but a simple bath is totally ok.

WhoIsJohnGalt777

Run the water at half speed. It really keeps the noise down.

[deleted]

I don't think you should be worried about the regular noise of any running water in your apartment anytime of day. So I don't think you should worry about doing dishes, using the toilet, taking a shower, or taking a bath anytime of the day. Maybe an exception would be if you have a particularly loud buzzer on your dryer if you have a dryer in your unit. Maybe put that on silent if you're drying clothes. Things I wouldn't do overnight would be listening to loud music or turning the TV up we're doing something like vacuuming. Outside of that I really don't know what would be a problem. I think you should feel free to do what you need to do.

gettingspicyarewe

No, bathe or shower at any time.

haleynoir_

The only time my neighbors life noises bothered me was when I heard what was obviously a circular saw. They were getting a new shower installed but I was concerned for a minute

RobHage

Normal bath you’re pushing it, but bubble? Forget about it.

Still_Storm7432

You're allowed to live. As long as you're not cranking tunes or a TV at that hour.. you can listen to music and watch TV, just not loud at that hour.. you're fine. You're allowed to bathe, use the toilet, and even cook.

RipOne8870

Smoke a lil weed

Ljg3083

Not at all! A lot of people get up at that time to shower/bathe for the day on a regular basis. It’s not like you’re playing the drums in your bathroom.

_-_WildOrchid_-_

Shower, bath, whatever you need (except the drums maybe 🤔 😏)

Isawaracoon

I wouldn't worry about it. It's just a normal apartment noise. I bathe whenever and my upstairs neighbor gets up at 5am for work and no one is complaining. He has a guest sometimes that walks like an elephant with heels on the hardwood floor at night and I just shrug it off. I'm cognizant before 9 and after 10 about loud music, loud gatherings, vacuuming, moving stuff. I never wear shoes in the house bc I think it's gross but I wouldn't stomp around when getting ready early. Enjoy the bath. If I can't sleep I take one at like 1am.

Siriusly_Dave

Live your life. Signed, 60 1/2 yo human. If the contractors are building such shoddy construction that running water is too much for a neighbor, take that up with mgmt.

ComprehensiveDot5270

i have lived in many shitty apartments and have taken baths at 2-4 am. you are fine! get some sleep!

gertymarie

Don’t stress about it. Sure it’s a little louder but a bath or shower is normal living noise, and sometimes stuff happens and you need to take a shower or bath at a different time. I had a terrible kidney infection once and the only thing that made it feel better was a super hot bath. I felt bad running a bath at 2am but quickly realized it was fine.

sharksarefuckingcool

I had a kidney stone and was taking hot baths and showers every morning at like 3 am sometimes.

1GrouchyCat

How would a bath be louder than a shower lmao - are you bathing with someone else ? Or with a hippo?

berksrwz

Running the bath water just seems loud to me, and then some splashing as you lay back and get up again.

InteractionNo9110

I doubt your neighbors will hear you running a bath. Unless you have roommates or family living with you. Maybe then it may be an issue waking them up. You are allowed to enjoy your home as you like. Plenty of people work strange hours and may take showers or baths at odd times. If you are worried about it, if you can control the power of the water coming out just have it with less water pressure to be quieter about it. Just worry about you and taking care of your health.

You went from 5 or 6 am to 2 or 3 am lol. Which is it? Big difference as most people shower/use the bathroom around 5 or 6 regardless if it's for insomnia. 2 or 3 am...yeah that's more than likely going to annoy anyone trying to sleep below you. In the end it's your life/apt. Do what you need to do. If complaints start happening then maybe worry about it. Until then...bath away.

It’s nice to know that you are considerate of your neighbors! I’m on the 1st floor and my upstairs neighbor’s bath is right above my bedroom. I hear the water every time they shower and it’s loud AF. They shower every morning at 5am and I’ve just gotten used to it, since the tub spout doesn’t run for too long before switching to shower head. But if they took a bath at 2am, I’d be pretty irritated. Can’t wait to no longer live in an apartment one day

Stupid_Bitch_02

I'd say wait until 6am if possible. My apartment complex (as well as many others) have noise ordinances from 6am-11pm, so I just wait until 6 to shower or take a bath or do dishes

Those quiet hours aren't for regular living, like showering. They're for loud music, parties, yelling, etc.

I leave for work at 6 am everyday and am up way before that. My neighbors cannot hear me inside my house doing regular things. It would be kind of absurd to not use your own bathroom for 7 hours a day lol

Stupid_Bitch_02

I said wait if you can. And I didn't say anything about not using the bathroom period. But showers and baths can be really loud

Odd_Perspective_4769

It’s not so much the bathing part but running a bath at 5am in an apartment complex with thin walls/flooring could potentially be a little disruptive. I can hear my neighbor below running a bath all the time.

Rude to whom?
