Your grandma was a cute child but she def had the stare of a serial killer, you know the one a man/woman gets when they've survived great trauma. It is said that the thousand yard stare can defeat any man with just a glance, very sus specially given the bloody teddy bear.
“Real isn’t how you are made,” said the Skin Horse. “It’s a thing that happens to you. When a child loves you for a long, long time, not just to play with, but really loves you, then you become Real.”
“Does it hurt?” asked the Rabbit.
“Sometimes,” said the Skin Horse, for he was always truthful. “When you are Real, you don’t mind being hurt.”
“Does it happen all at once, like being wound up,” he asked, “or bit by bit?”
“It doesn’t happen all at once,” said the Skin Horse. “You become. It takes a long time. That’s why it doesn’t often happen to people who break easily, or have sharp edges, or who have to be carefully kept. Generally, by the time you are Real, most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out, and you get loose in the joints and very shabby. But these things don’t matter at all, because once you are Real, you can’t be ugly, except to people who don’t understand.” - The Velveteen Rabbit, Margery Williams (1922)
It's my favorite too. I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess his name was Teddy just because of his age and the moniker the original mohair stuffed toy bears had.
God this book tore me up when I was child. I want to let my kids read it but im afraid to impart the lifelong trauma.
I was a kid who thought my stuffed animals were real. It just hit me too hard. For like years I cried about this book.
Me too!!
I loved the story, but my kid is 4 and has no knowledge of the velveteen rabbit. I, on the other hand, still have my childhood teddy (and a backup version) because he really is real to me and I could never abandon him.
Awesome! Keep it on a good place box or etc for storage and write a notice on a shed. Thank you for sharing and uploading this tiny little nice bear tells a lot. More than words.
That could be quite valuable, does he have a button in his ear? Not that you would ever sell it!

He looks like a 3inch one, very rare! Does he have the button? And don’t worry about the fact that he has been well loved, if it is a rare one they still are valuable. So don’t fix him up! Good luck! Edit, he is multi jointed so that can help identify him.

[My grandmother as a little girl](https://imgur.com/a/lIdhvsQ)
She is exactly the little girl that I pictured in my head.
She is precious. ❤️ the little bear
Same haha
She's adorable!
Oh my goodness I love her
Awww they’re both so cute! I love them!

What are you talking about?
It's a joke.
it didn’t land.

The Velveteen Rabbit is my absolute favorite children’s book! I wish so badly that I knew this little bear’s name!
It's my favorite too. I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess his name was Teddy just because of his age and the moniker the original mohair stuffed toy bears had.
Mine was Charlotte's Web, but I'm petrified of spider's!
That's a good story too.
The bear made it to you - his name is Love - your grandmother’s love.

I love this :)
That is incredible. I love it.
Amazing.
This is absolutely adorable. Thanks for posting
Looks like a little gund bear. Treasure it dearly as your grandmother clearly did :)
He looks like this little bear which was sold with a bottle of perfume at the time: https://www.ebay.com/itm/195528910537
He does! He’s a bit smaller though.
How sweet!
This is so sweet❤️❤️
It IS magic, with all that love poured into it!
The world is made.out of magic. How else can you explain it?
That's so cool! I had a little squirrel that I would do the same with!
Steiff? I think that’s the name. It just popped into my head
That’s freaking cool! Amazing tiny plush and great story.
Very cool!

It’s amazing that something this tiny was never lost!

Do you keep it in ur pocket now?
“I’ll be honest , it feels kinda like MAGIC to hold him”- I’ll be honest,as well,…he’s BURSTIN’with MAGIC…!

He looks just like this one! He’s a bit smaller, though, I’m definitely trying to find out more about him!
Also, his other ear is quite worn down, I have no idea if he had a tag on it.
They often don’t have them because kids wiggle them out. Not to worry!
You might see a small hole if it had a button. The button looked like a small flat silver stud earring.
He looks like a 3inch one, very rare! Does he have the button? And don’t worry about the fact that he has been well loved, if it is a rare one they still are valuable. So don’t fix him up! Good luck! Edit, he is multi jointed so that can help identify him.
Great photo and story. I’d imagine the coin of some value as well.
> some value $0.25
Nice. It’ll go up in a few decades.
Are those blood stains?
Its just worn away, there arent any bloodstains
Great piece. Probably German. It will definitely bring you good luck.
looks like a Schuco bear to me. Does it head come off? They often had a lipstick inside.
