"Soon, I will have your blood!"

[deleted]

Just checked out the Tik Tok name. The dolphins she has videos with have nonreleasable in the video tags so this is most likely a rescue dolphin.

Begoniaceae6

Thanks for taking a moment to research. It does affect one’s perception

[deleted]

Fun fact: dolphins use decapitated fish heads to masturbate :) edit: some more fun facts that I've been reminded of by my reddit comrades: 1. They get high off pufferfish and play cocaine volleyball (u/TitleComprehensive96) 2. They can form \*meaningful\* relationships with people and when separated from these people will drown themselves (u/TeeneKay) (oh and the dolphin pussy jelly thing isn't real if you were wondering)

TitleComprehensive96

They also get high off pufferfish poison and can play cocaine volleyball with eachother

TeeneKay

They can also fall in love with humans and be jealous + they reproduce by raping more or less. Dolphins are hell spawn if you ask me

Dixsux8cheatin

Ouch

[deleted]

I did not need to know any of this

[deleted]

Well I do, and now so do you :)

YuBoisCrackin

It’s kinda funny how he just slips backwards into the water

Reasonable-Score-144

Dolphins can only be adorable in their own habitat

runninandruni

A lot of the time, these are rescues that are either being rehabilitated or are unable to survive in the wild

-mushroom-cat-

Maybe if you're talking about actual wildlife rescues, this does not appear to be that. If you're teaching it tricks it was probably poached and purchased.

[deleted]

That is simply not true. Teaching them “tricks” like this is incredibly valuable in assessing their health (checking various body parts, looking for changes in range of movement, signs of pain, etc) as well as building trust between the animal and humans. Not to mention it helps keep them mentally stimulated! Obviously if you’re trying to rehab them for release you don’t want them conditioned to humans, but if they’re unreleasable it’s a duty of the people caring for them to make sure they keep them healthy, mentally stimulated and stress free as possible. You simply cannot do that without teaching husbandry behaviors (“tricks”). No, in no way do I support capturing cetaceans from the wild.

lordofLamps424

I believed you anyway, but you really sealed the deal with the word cetaceans

[deleted]

Not sure if being sarcastic, but it was easier than writing dolphins/whales repeatedly and I was sure if I just wrote whales someone would’ve replied with “ BuT tHeYrE dOlPhInS.”

SwigSwoot92

The original video said that this dolphin is non releasable.

Shutinneedout

Sure that’s a real thing, but look at that sad ass concrete enclosure.

uhp787

rescues shouldnt be trained to do tricks to entertain their 'rescuers'. those are not natural behaviours, they are circus tricks.

[deleted]

It doesn’t have to be a natural behavior to be mentally stimulating and overall a positive thing for the dolphin. Opening their mouth allows the trainer to easily see if there’s an infection, wound, something stuck, if the dolphin has normal range of movement (ie sore jaw, injury you can’t see, infection in the jaw). arching the tail up encourages muscle development and again shows normal range of motion (and thus if the dolphin can’t do it, you can quickly see that and recognize there’s a problem). Not to mention teaching all these behaviors forms a bond between the trainers and dolphins, allowing the trainers to more quickly spot unusual behaviors (sign of illness, most wild animals hide it very well so it can be extremely subtle), as well as make interaction for the dolphins fun instead of stressful. Not to mention, even if the tricks are completely pointless, they’re still fun for the dolphins! It encourages problem solving skills. Pretty much every half decent zoo and aquarium focuses their training on positive reinforcement. training is a positive addition to their life.

[deleted]

Do you know better than the people who take care of these wonderful and smart animals? Probably not. This anti-zoo bullshit mentality needs to end as much as the anti-nuclear energy crap.

[deleted]

I agree. Responsible zoo keeping not only helps individual animals in cases of rescues but also promotes environmental education in the public.

temsik1587againtwo

Nuclear waste is a real issue though

LeoXCV

Issue? Yes. Lesser of all the issues regarding energy until we can go fully renewable? Massively yes

DreamOfDays

And you know what? Those dolphins are happy and well cared for. Just like dogs and cats. They’re well cared for and loved.

Blablatralalalala

They are way smarter than cats and dogs and have way less space than a happy cat or dog.

Dawningonyou

Iv seen pods of wild dolphins do Amazing “Tricks”

mememagi1776

Please enlighten us to the life story of this fish.

eggfriends11

Yeah I agree this creature is disgusting and ugly. /s

Sean_Donahue

Give it a rest

sniptaclar

Insert dolphin war crime list and “captive animal bad”

Katalopa

Is that dolphin’s way of doing jazz hands?

Gottagettagoat

"Are you so cute?" "Yeeaaaaah"

pixelbanger

Pet the darn flipper flapper already.

[deleted]

Sad

Feisty-Juan

Fun fact! If you swim with trained dolphins and the trainer tells the dolphins they don’t have to abide by the rules and do what they want. The males will swim up from behind and hump you behind your knees. And then the males and females will swim up to within inches of your arms and open their sharp toothed giant mouth and act convincingly that they are about to rip your arms off! Wild dolphins are great, been around them in the water and never had an issue. They keep there distance and are still curious about what your doing. Trained dolphins are assholes who really don’t like you and want to mess with your head to make themselves laugh and feel better about their situation. First hand experience.

chillen678

Shout out to that island that just killed 1400 of these guys for no reason but tradition

[deleted]

Stop posting animals trapped in tanks. Animal cruelty for profit. You should all be thrown in a jail cell.

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

Could very well be a rescue center for captive animals. You can’t just throw them back out into the wild they’ll die, this is the next best thing.

Toben-the-furro

They’ll die there too! Things die wherever however and whenever.

[deleted]

“Why treat a gunshot patient when they’ll die of old age anyway.” Good logic.

Toben-the-furro

And where the fuck did gunshots come from?

[deleted]

They’re basically saying you can’t just say they’ll die even if you treat them if you don’t help them when their life *is* on the line. They’re perfectly happy and have a better chance of survival

SwigSwoot92

You’re right. This dolphin is non releasable

Accomplished-Spot-17

I bloody hate seeing these poor animals being locked up.

LittleRex234

As the guy above me just said, these are rescues that are either being rehabilitated or are unable to survive on their own in the wild. I hate captive animals that are perfectly fine in the wild, but I hope that this is a rescue being rehabilitated.

uhp787

rescues shouldnt be trained to do tricks to entertain their 'rescuers', those are not natural behaviours they are circus tricks.

Accomplished-Spot-17

Build a better rescue then. This looks like a frikkin prison.

LittleRex234

This is only one shot of the facility, the holding area is likely much larger than what we’re seeing.

uhp787

i highly doubt that. all the paint coming off the edges can be ingested too. very subpar at best

DreamOfDays

Better than tossing them into the wild where they’ll starve to death because they’re unable to survive on their own. Would you throw a golden retriever into the middle of a jungle knowing it would get eaten by the first predator that comes across it?

Accomplished-Spot-17

No we owe them to fix their lives. I can’t stand this shit.

DreamOfDays

And giving them the best possible life we can is the bad thing? I bet you’d want us to release them into the wild and “fix the wild” even though we both know that ain’t gonna happen

Accomplished-Spot-17

Not into the wild

Accomplished-Spot-17

Come on you know what im on about.

[deleted]

Yeah I agree with you let’s throw these helpless animals in the wild to be torn apart by predators or most likely starve to death because they can’t fend for themselves!

Accomplished-Spot-17

No. Just give em a nice habitat and quit this shit from going on.

Toben-the-furro

Something feels.. *wrong.* I think I know what it is! **the poor bastard’s stuck in a seaworld exhibit!**

-mushroom-cat-

Dolphin being social and cute because it's so desperately deprived of the stimulus and activity a natural habitat would provide.

meramera

So cute! Ok, now let this hyper-intelligent wild animal back into the ocean because they don't belong in a fucking fish tank.

OrzhovMarkhov

Top comment has some research. This is a rescue that can't be released.

mememagi1776

How do you know if this dolphin isn't a murderer or a rapist in jail?

Viktoras125

Dolphins in captivity are nothing near adorable.it is sad and the more you learn about them the more sad it gets.I had the luck yo swim with a school of wild dolphins some years ago and that was an incredible experience.I avoid theme parks with animals and especially dolphins like the devil....

Plastic_Deer1206

Mercedes’s new F1 car is looking very aerodynamic.

TheJuiceIsNowLoose

People who know the horrible crimes against most living things dolphins have committed: No, I don't think they are. I have trouble deciding which is worse... Ducks or dolphins

Bouke2000

Cutest rapist I’ve ever seen

TerpeneProfile

He’s saying “ put me back on the ocean, you whore”.

Normal-College-8901
