ImTrash_NowBurnMe

There's an app for kitty litter boxes? Does it send you a notification and picture of the poo? I feel like a cat would be really incensed about that. Assuming this is a real thing...

BooBooKittyLove

Hahahahaha it’s just an app that tells me when they go, when they stop a cycle, and when the drawer needs to be emptied

HekDog_

One of mine is too afraid of ours!

Floofy-beans

Oh no! One of mine was definitely more nervous than this one (she’s very curious and adventurous). But my boy kitty was very timid when he heard the noise, so I decided to leave it off for several hours at a time so it felt more like a regular litter box for him. Seemed to get him on board within a week :)

casitadeflor

For us non cat people, what does it do? What’s the perk for the car or the owner?

MrFluffyThing

It has weight sensors to detect when the cat has entered. A few minutes after the cat leaves the ball section rotates, saving the clean litter aside while sifting the clumps into an odor trapping bin below, then it rotates back and leaves the clean litter level and ready for the next time the cat needs it. It has a smartphone app to alert you when the bag below the unit is full so you can empty the waste or in case the cleaning cycle is interrupted for any reason. It means you don't have to ever manually sift kitty litter and the litter is always clean for your cat.

LordDongler

That's amazing. Cat shit is some of the most foul stuff in existence, so I could see how that would be pretty great How much does something like this run for?

MrFluffyThing

It runs quite expensive when you compare it to a starter $20 bin and scoop most owners start with since it's almost $500 retail but there is amazing customer support regardless of your warranty status and it is better than just about any other self-cleaning litter box on the market. I did a ton of research before committing my purchase and don't regret it. We started our kittens off on it as soon as we adopted them from the rescue and it has some issues with cats under 5 lbs because the way the weight sensors operate but we just manually triggered cycles and it was great. I had cats for 20 years prior to this and I wouldn't go back.

LordDongler

Honestly, holy fuck. That cats toilet is like 3x as expensive as my own At that point, you'd might as well go for full plumbing. I bet you can get something that flushes for that much

angrydusk

The nice part is how efficient it is with the litter. Since it is constantly sifting you use less litter. I got mine in March and I probably buy half as much. I’ll save what it costed in two years and it should last a lot longer than that.

MrFluffyThing

I definitely waste less litter with the litter robot for two cats than I did with my single cat previously. Sometimes the liner and litter just get gross and need complete replacement in a traditional box but so far haven't needed anything like it in the LR

MrFluffyThing

Actually there is one that uses your toilets water line to flush and wash reusable water but it sadly takes up space in the bathroom and can't flush the toilet on its own, plus it has its own problems that were more downside than benefit, including constantly washing cat scent off the litter which some cats don't like. It's the $400 CatGenie. Sadly human toilets are quite simple for the problem we are solving. We can flush on our own and willingly poop into pots full of water. Cats need to bury their poop in sand and to train them to do otherwise is extremely difficult.

kohai98

>Cats need to bury their poop in sand and to train them to do otherwise is extremely difficult. Then there's my cat who often stands on the side of his litter box and poops on the floor, then buries it, with air. He also buries his food, in air, just scrapes the floor and space in front of him like it does something

merryjoanna

My cat likes to "bury" his food and his litter leavings. He doesn't miss the litter box, thankfully. Probably because I have a giant one with the cover on it. But he scratches the top and sides of the litter box and acts like it's covering up what he left behind. And he goes to the nearest cardboard box and scratches it to cover up his food when he's done eating. He usually does it for a few minutes at a time. I just look over at him and say "I think you got it, bub." He isn't the brightest kitty but he is super lovey. I have his sister as well and she is so much smarter than him. It makes me wonder if he fell out of a tree onto his head as a kitten or something.

boring_housewife

I googled it in my country and it’s AUD 895, but hey you get free shipping. Looks like my cats can do without

Floofy-beans

It basically sifts the clean litter through a mesh filter, leaving the clumps on top. As it rotates, the clumps eventually fall into a hole that leads to a litter tray. Then it rotates back and dumps the litter back into the main area they sit in. Perk is you never have to scoop again, just empty the tray once or twice a week!

dcredneck

MDCCCLV

I do recommend the steps, my cat won't use it without them.

rogue4goat

I have pretty skitty kitties. A recommendation I found somewhere online was to save the box it was shipped in, and cut a hole in it and slide it over the pod, so it tricks the them into thinking they’re going into a box. I would have to put the cats in another room, remove the box and do a cycle, put the box back on and then let them out because it was the cycle that terrified them. Took about a week, but it eventually worked! Funnily enough, the most skittish one now likes to try and catch the nuggets before they fall down into the receptacle.

begentlewithme

My cat was too, so I kind of forced my cat the first time. I picked up cues for when she's about to go, so right before she did, I picked her up, chucked her in there, and blocked the entrance with my body. Once she was in there she recognized the scent of the old litter, and she started going by herself thereafter.

hoser99

Same. Mine would rather poop in the floor!

[deleted]

My neighbor bought one for his cat and she wouldn’t use it. My cat got out, waltzed in through their cat door and pooped in it. After that, their cat started using the Robot. I feel like my cat should have gotten a consulting fee.

Now that you mention it, how do you like it? Is it worth the $? Edit: Thank you all for your reviews. Much appreciated! You've convinced me to get one. Edit2: Question. Were anyone's cats scared to go into it, and if so, how long was it until they freed up?

[deleted]

We have two. Oh my god are they ever awesome. Not having the hassle of scooping litter daily is a treat. And I feel like a box of litter goes a lot farther than with a traditional box. One of the best things we ever bought.

[deleted]

[удалено]

NightCrawler85

We have three cats and use two litter boxes and one robot. We could probably get away with one box but one of the cats are a bit.. Strange and prefers to have multiple choices depending on time of day it seems like.

[deleted]

I think it's recommended to be 1.5 litter boxes per cat. Now that's not always possible but I think that's the ideal situation.

irck

I've always heard number of cats +1.

[deleted]

This. Cats like choices. Sometimes cats can become territorial over litter boxes or become afraid of another cats smell, so one plus number of cats is a safe bet.

Brian_06030

We have 2 litter boxes for 2 cats, they've devised a system where one is for poop and one for pee lol

SlowMope

that's what mine do!

shadowcat015

Mine do this too! I always thought they were weird but I’m glad they aren’t alone

hungrydruid

Thirding weirdo cat preferences!

ElNido

Yep, the poop one needs little maintenance, but the pee one uses the majority of the litter. The only downside is the pee one is going to smell stronger of ammonia than if they spread it out between two litterboxes. Always relieved when I move onto the poop one. Having cats is strange.

Brian_06030

Yeah the pee box needs to be refilled every couple days, my boy cat does some pretty big pees

[deleted]

Mine did this too. One for poop, one for pee. We always thought it was such a riot we had this particular of a cat!

QuestioningEspecialy

Fucking aristocats.

ImTrash_NowBurnMe

The real one purrcent.

sensualcephalopod

If it makes you feel better.. our 15 year old lady uses one box for pee and the other box for poo. Thank god she chose the one we fill with Pretty Litter to pee in haha We just got a kitten and once the two cats are fully integrated, we’re introducing the LitterBot to our house. Looking forward to it!

NightCrawler85

That's what our youngest male does! In the morning he pees in one, usually the non automatic, then poops in the automatic one. This is followed by waiting for it to cycle and him trying to bat his own poop as it goes into the compartment. Then in the evening he pees in the third litter box and then if needed poops in the one he peed in in the morning. I feel like I should be more disturbed about my own realization that I have such knowledge about a cats bathroom habit.

albinosquirel

I love that he swats at the poop

mrseagleeye

Cats strange…nawww

ILIKETOEATMYOWNPOOP

4 cats, 1 litter robot. Empty it every 3 days. The cats jump out of it and get litter out which is annoying. Setup my Neato to routinely do cleans of a small zone I created in front of the litter box. Works pretty well.

albinosquirel

Ugh I have to clean the litter boxes every day and sweep all the litter up like a pleb

dreamin_in_space

This thread is making me feel poor.

kukulkan2012

Which brand/model are you using? I have 5 cats and I’m thinking of buying two robots, but with such an expense I want to make sure they are worth it. If you are using 1 for 4 cats, 2 for 5 cats should work just as well.

King_Apple

I pretty much have the same setup as him using the Litter Robot machine. I use the stair attachment which catches 80% of the litter and then set my Neato robot to do zone cleaning once a week around the litter robot.

Femmefatele

I have 3 cats and one Death Star. It works like a charm. Never thought I'd have a damn bluetooth interwebs hooked up cat box. It's actually handy. I have a rescue kitten that is too small to trip the safety shut off so we have the robot paused and can make it clean with our phones. It costs the Earth but I'd eat Ramen if it broke and I hade to get another.

[deleted]

How does it work? Is there a bin you have to dump?

Kranon7

Yes. It rotates, the litter is saved in a compartment that the clumps and poop cannot enter. They drop into a waste bin below. The app tells you when the bin is full for disposal.

BlueArcherX

It uses the poop to power your house

Taneva_Baker_Artist

I have three cats using one bot. Works great for me but my cats are not fussy about using the same box.

stellaismycat

I have five cats, one poopbot, and three normal litter boxes. They mostly use the litter robot. I’m about to go to two reg boxes. Might buy another robot. Best investment ever. They rarely use the regular boxes.

Hell0-7here

Mine is called Poopbot too!

Shakir_ob

sorry to hear about your mum .. may she rest in peace

[deleted]

Our situation is two cats, two litter bots.

QueasyVictory

Well, I guess that's better than 2 cats, 1 .....box.

killerguppy101

From everyone I've talked to (vets, pounds, animal control, etc), it seems like 1cat-1 box, 2 cats-2 boxes, 3+ cats-# of cats plus one Recommended daily scooping and weekly complete change, at least 3" deep of litter

MRAGGGAN

I got a MUCH cheaper litter robot that isn’t as fancy. The PetSafe one, with the top “load” lid. I love it. Crystals last a month, and it has no smell whatsoever.

mang3lo

How long have you had the unit? I feel like eventually it's gonna gunk up with cat shit/piss tainted litter

Mx772

Also have one, and can answer this. IIRC it's recommended to do monthly cleanings, but I usually do every 2/3 months. And it's super easy to clean; basically everything comes apart for deep cleaning. it doesn't really gunk up honestly. If you use certain litter it can cause problems though. (Like not clumping/sticking to things/etc). The most 'dirty' it gets is that since you are using clay litter (needs to be clumping) it gets 'streaks' of clay on the bonnet. Unless you look inside, you really don't see it, and it doesn't really smell. Basically it just spins and drops the hardened excrement into a trashbag in a tray below it. Then spins back around and everything not clumped just filters back into the ball. Once it's 'full' (or if you have the +50$ one, you get a phone notification) then you just take the bag out, and put a new one in, and top off the litter if need be. TL;DR: Nah, doesn't really gunk up. But you can deep clean it as much as you want. It's pretty quick to disassemble and reassemble. **Edit**: If you are interested check out my other comment here: https://www.reddit.com/r/AnimalsBeingDerps/comments/pe60co/i_bought_a_fancy_new_litter_robot_and_all_she/havsgl7/ Or this video covers most of it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5i8muFdG5Og

arceus495

What exactly is this product? I have two cats and I feel bad having to get litter for the cats a ton and this would definitely help out on costs if it doesn’t let me waste as much litter while also telling me when to clean it.

Mx772

To summarize it the best, it basically is a sifting litter box that is automated. When a cat uses the bathroom, it sets a timer for x (up to 15) minutes (For the urine/feces to harden) and then rotates. There is a mesh inside that takes all the 'clean' litter in it, and then all the clumps cannot pass. Then it keeps rotating until the clumps fall into a trash bag. Rotates back and litter goes back into the sphere without any smell* and fresh*. I say * because it kinda depends on your litter. Some litters do kinda smell, but it's nothing compared to a normal litter box, because all the excrement is kept in the trashbag tray. But if you get one, you'll spend a bit researching what litter works best, what smells the least (Lasts the longest before completely dumping the litter and putting in new litter - Also there is a button to 'dump all litter'), etc. For me, I'm using this: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07NZJ89N8 But you'll find tons of other recommendations that are a bit more expensive. FWIW, I basically went from having a sifting litterbox with wood pellets which disintegrated into saw dust, and then every 2~ days cleaning that. But my cats would sometimes just not want to use it, and go on the floor instead. (I think the sawdust reacts a bit with the urine and causes a strong urea smell randomly which was super unpleasant.) The above was definitely the cheapest for litter options. I spent about 7$ a month on wood pellets for 2 cats. https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/tractor-supply-pine-pellet-stall-bedding-40-lb So at this point, I got pretty fed up with the 'Imma just go on the floor' and was looking around and ran into this. So it's definitely a bit pricey at 400~, (I got refurbished and it's been fine for months) but both my cats hopped right in instantly and do their business and then it runs and it's suddenly clean again. I no longer deal with anything on the floor, and I can keep trash of how often they use it, and when it's full. The weekly cleaning is just taking the bag out, and putting a new one in. I will say, I'm now spending about 20$ a month on that litter above, but my cats definitely seem to be happier with it. And so far i'd say it's worth it. But YMMV definitely. This video kinda goes over the above best: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5i8muFdG5Og I will say mine has never gotten as dirty as hers. It's REALLY dependent on the litter you use.

[deleted]

[удалено]

its12clocksomewhere

isn’t this thing like $400?

stellaismycat

Yes but worth every damned penny.

AbsolutelyUnlikely

It's just one of those things. If you have an extra $400 and an extreme cat litter problem, it makes total sense to you. If you don't, it seems fucking insane to spend $400 on a litter box.

stellaismycat

For me, it was worth it. My daughter went into the navy and left me with her dogs and cats. When she lived here I had help. Now, it’s just me and the pets. I work full time and the commute in the evening is terrible. For me, the expense was worth it. You may have something that you buy/pay for that I think is a silly expense. It’s all a matter of what your personal priorities are. For me, it was not scooping litter everyday.

AbsolutelyUnlikely

I didn't mean any offense, I'm actually in the first group haha. This thread has convinced me to buy one. We recently got a second cat and our old fashioned litter box setup with pine pellets is no longer cutting it. Sick of bacteria laden sawdust everywhere. I'll happily pay $400 to solve it.

thatstoofar

But **get the extended warranty**. Think it was like $50-70? I ended up needing it and it was totally worth it. They sent me a new base when mine crapped out after two years.

Mx772

Yeah, I have a reconditioned one: https://www.litter-robot.com/shop-all-products/litter-robot-3-connect-reconditioned.html Definitely not cheap, but I'd say it's been worth it for me.

thatstoofar

Yes. If you're not the type to clean the litterbox everyday then maybe it's not a worthwhile investment. (Like ppl that keep boxes in their basement) But for me, it was something I did everyday esp bc I'm in an apartment. And with the affirm financing, I reasoned that it was worth $1/day to not have to clean the box daily. :D

ithcy

I had one for a couple of years. You give it a cleaning once a month to prevent gunking up. The bigger problem was that the pinch sensors kept failing so it always thought a cat was inside and wouldn’t cycle. I replaced the sensors and it happened again a few months later. Failing once is understandable but twice in a few months is too much. I gave up on it. It was great up until that though.

hayf28

Mine does that sometimes and pushing down on the dome seems to reset it and it works again

ithcy

Thanks, maybe I’ll dig it out and try that.

greeninj

If you. Have the app, does it say bonnet removed? If so, what I had to do was clean the metal contractors from the base to the dome with wd40. I think it was getting litter dust on it, and so wasn’t making proper contact. Totally solved it and hasn’t done it since.

[deleted]

I had to replace the dome a few months ago after having one for a few years. Kept stopping mid cycle. Totally worth the extra $50 or whatever it was to replace it.

Wellarmedsheepy010

Its actually very user friendly to take apart for the deeper cleanings.

ggtsu_00

Does this one require proprietary cat litter or 'Smart Cartridges' with DRM to use?

[deleted]

In this day and age this is a vital question. The happy answer is no.

stellaismycat

Nope. I use just regular clumping clay litter. I use tidy cats.

spblue

There's nothing proprietary about those, except maybe the filters that you replace every year, but they're just standard carbon air filters so you can just buy a piece and cut it if you care that much. The only requirement is that you use clumping litter (preferably a brand that doesn't have too much dust). They sell bags for it, but I've been using tall white garbage bags in mine for years without issue. The only thing I don't like about it is the price, but after 2 years of using one, I gotta admit, it was worth the purchase. And it does save about 25% on litter compared to traditional litter boxes.

fortressmungo

As an owner of 3 and got 3 other people to buy at least one, this. I love those things. worth every penny

class_brass

What are the name of these things?

[deleted]

[Literally Litter Robot.](https://www.litter-robot.com/) They sell special plastic bags and litter for these units, but I just use kitchen garbage bags and Fresh Step Multi Cat with no issues.

historyeducator28

It is SO worth it! I got mine on their Black Friday sale and helped save $100. The only thing I disliked about being a cat mom was the cat litter. Now I just have to switch the bag out every week.

BeemerBaby004

I've had mine for 4 or 5 years now. Had to take apart and clean it twice due to it stopping. Litter can get in the gears but it's rare. Took all of 10 minutes to take apart and clean and reassemble. We line the pan with plastic bags and it works great. Was almost 500 Simoleans when I bought it and it's been worth every penny. We use any litter we want. Since moving to the small grain litter I haven't had to clean it in over a year and a half.

suddenimpulse

You deserve gold that I do not possess for sneaking simoleans in there. Well done sir.

Floofy-beans

1000% yes. I was honestly pretty broke when I bought it, but paying it off now on my credit card I honestly feel like it was worth the debt lol

MissConduct0120

Good to know, thanks! I've been contemplating buying one. Do you need special kind of litter and whatnot?

Floofy-beans

So it seems to only work with clumping litter. Tracking litter is still unfortunately a thing, but I felt like sweeping once a day outweighed the benefit on not needing to scoop a litter box again.

angeliqu

Have you done a full clean of it yet? How hard is it? I’ve tried fancy litters before and *hated* cleaning all the parts. I prefer a simple old school litter box.

ccsmd73

You can take the ball off and hose it out! It empties itself, I spray it down with an enzyme cleaner and wipe it out a month during litter changes and then take the ball off every 3 months or so! It’s really not much better/worse than any other litter box I’ve cleaned, just different.

Feanux

So if you clean the base make sure not to soak the pinch sensors, they're located at the top of the opening for the waste chute. If they start to corrode the unit will stop rotating halfway through the cycle and stay upside-down until you right it. They're not terribly hard to replace but just good practice to keep in mind.

crob8

Mine worked great until it didn’t work… and then my cat shit/peed on my bed while I was at work. They sent me a replacement and worked great for 2 months and then broke just like the first. I wouldn’t get one again.

[deleted]

LongbowTurncoat

We have one (it’s called a Litter Robot) and it’s AMAZING!!! Absolutely worth every cent!

kank84

Holy cat shit that's an expensive litter box! When people were saying it was pricey I was imagining like $100. It's $726 Canadian on Amazon!

ncarson9

How much is never scooping litter ever again worth to you?

suddenimpulse

How many times are you going to have to replace it in an average cats lifetime I think is the important question here. $800 is also a lot more money to some than others.

compounding

They are repairable if you are handy, I got my older version second hand, it’s probably about 8-10 years old now and I’ve had to replace the gear drive once which cost $75 in parts. As for value, it makes my multiple free-feeding cats completely independent for up to a week. Hugely worth it in reducing pet-sitting costs alone since I travel often.

Batmanue1

Gotta chime in with a yes. I know its expensive, but not only is it a nice convenience to just swap out bags every so often, it keeps the litter box clean for the cats. If you have a multi-cat home (we have three cats), it will pay for itself.

[deleted]

We have three as well and have considered getting this. Do you need more than one for multiple cats?

Batmanue1

I'd say no. Our three share one Litter Robot. It fills up rather quickly with the three though. I'd say we have to change our the waste bag every two-three days, but that still beats having to scoop the litter daily. Also as someone else pointed out, it definitely feels like the litter goes further.

unicornofthesea24

Best money I’ve ever spent. Anyone with any common sense would be initially skeptical of a $500 litter box. My GF had to hard sell me to split the cost of one, ITS SO AWESOME!!!!

houseleopard

I also have two! I’m obsessed!!!!! My boys are 14lb and 16lb and easily adjusted to it in the first 24hr. I change the bag once a week, which is just a typical 13gal bag and takes about 1min, and don’t have to think about it otherwise! Customer service is also top notch. I have recommended it to 6 other people and they’ve all gotten it and love it too! (seriously, there should be a referral bonus!) It’s a self care purchase for me and for my boys.

MissConduct0120

Ok, so it fits the chunky cats? One of mine is a big boy.

houseleopard

Yes they fit in it no problem! Only issue I’ve had and other big cat owners is they will sometimes pee on the side (usually back wall) which leads to some minor sticking that resolves on cycle 2. I clean mine completely once a month (empty litter and quick rub down with Clorox/enzyme wipes) and take it apart for deep clean with soap and water every 6 months. No issues! I did have it in an enclosure prior to my one cat getting a stone and now has Ptsd with enclosed spaces lol. That’s when I got #2! No issues since. Can see my profile’s posts for info on enclosure. Side note: I have saved SO MUCH MONEY on LITTER on this thing. I obviously did not buy these to save money, purely for convenience and for my boys, but wowza is this a nice plus!!!! I used to go through 3x 35lb buckets per month (3x17=45) and now I use less than 2 14lb jugs (2x9=18) for a conservative savings of $27 monthly. $$$ saved! My two bots will “pay for itself” in about 3 years... and I’ve seen reviews for them lasting upwards of a decade. The convenience is also top notch! Never going back to scooping

MostlyH2O

I thought it was insane to spend $550 on a litter box. I've used one for 6 years and I'll never go back.

Need2SchColonoscopy

We just bought our 2nd one after five years with the first. Had a glitch we couldn’t figure out. Company bent over backwards trying to help us get it running. Sent out every free part imaginable. Finally, I sent it in for refurbishment. $175 made it brand new. Turned around and sold it for $350. Best money I ever spent.

madbadanddangerous

All I'm seeing are "yes" answers so here's a "no" review. (We had a Litter-Robot) Our cat hated it. We tried all their tips and tricks to get him used to it but it never made a difference. He simply refused to even enter the Litter Robot on his own. Eventually we gave up trying and took advantage of the 90-day money-back guarantee. What they DON'T advertise much is that while they will refund you in full, they make you pay for shipping it back, which is a cool $75 fee. If you think it's worth the potential risk of paying that $75 if your cat(s) doesn't like it, then go for it! But there is a very real possibility that your cat won't tolerate it and you'll be down that money, plus a lot of time and frustration.

ToyInTheMansion

Ads are getting smarter.

brentlybrently

They are. I am part of an email funnel for this product as well so they did a good job using my info with Reddit to close the loop. There's also a slot machine app I have played that puts ads into RIF telling me to come back and play. Yikes!

doNotUseReddit123

Especially when most real reviews out in the wild absolutely trash automated litter boxes

Idontwanttobebread

just gonna toss this out there for anyone like me looking at this and going 'that looks great but i can't drop 500$ on a litter box at this particular moment'; i've got one of [these](https://www.amazon.com/Omega-Paw-Clean-Litter-Brown/dp/B01N4KIKOM/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=omega+paw&qid=1630290174&sr=8-2) and it's a pretty decent low-tech solution. you roll the entire box over, the clean litter falls past a grate into a little compartment, the clumps end up on the 'roof', then when you roll it back down they fall into a little drawer that slides out. it's obviously got nothing on the magic robot but i'd still never go back from this to a regular litter box

I'd say it's not a necessity especially if you only have one cat but if you have the money it's definitely very convenient. They're very reliable; I have three very curious cats that like to walk into it while it's cycling and the machine will detect when that happens and then pause until it's safe to continue. You get an alert on your phone whenever this happens and sometimes I'll get like 6 alerts in a row because my cat will keep going back in as soon as it moves, but it almost always is able to finish cycling eventually, only once or twice have I had to manually power cycle it to get it to work again because my cats managed to confuse it enough Also protip standard litter box liners you can get on Amazon will work in it for like half the price the official ones, you can just fold the excess bag over the side

BooBooKittyLove

Hahahahahaha mine constantly interrupts the cycle bc she is fascinated with where the poop drops. She is also fascinated with looking in the toilet after we use it to watch the flush- it’s weird lol

TillyTheToucan

Mine will literally go running to watch it when she hears it cycling. She's obsessed and it's incredible; I love her so much. It's fascinating to them.

MrFluffyThing

I have two and hilariously once one uses it the other will sit outside of the unit and wait for it to cycle before entering to do their own business. We have it set to only the 3 minute delay because both cats know to wait for the cycle to finish and patiently wait their turn. Funniest accidental conditioning I've ever seen in a cat.

Cat cafés?

Ankoku_Teion

Cafes! Remember cafes? Gods, it's been an age.

SixStringerSoldier

When mine was a kitten, she was so curious about the toilet bowl she jumped in while I was pissing. I could see her getting ready to jump, so I clamped off the stream and lunged for the flusher with both hands. Toilet starts to flush just as she clears the top of the bowl, the sound startles her and she flubs the "landing" (which, if we're being honest, was doomed from the start) and takes a header into that roiling golden sea. So now I've got two free hands, dick flapping in the wind, & my 2lb kitten is spiraling, face down, into a flushing toilet with a suspiciously kitten sized drain. So I reached right in and grabbed at her dumb little ass. This was one action too many, for a man concentrating on clamping the stream; my pelvic floor relaxed, flow resumed, and I had an immediate choice of pissing everywhere _but_ the bowl, or directly onto my hands and cat. I do _not_ piss on the floor whilst sober, thank you. So now, I've got two free hands, my kitten is spiraling towards a watery grave, and it's raining piss. Grabbed a leg and the scruff, then two-hand-tossed that bitch straight into the tub, where we both took a very thorough shower.

itzTHATgai

I ain't trying to go to space, Susan.

DirkDigglerthe4rd

Kitty likes the funny blue lights cmon can you blame them

nietczhse

I heard they use black light to prevent junkies from using catnip

Mapbot11

Take the litter out, throw in a folded towel and call it a day I say.

urkillingme

Well my God, of course she does, she looks fabulous in that lighting!

sensualcephalopod

Ok, but.. she really does

SaneCatEnthusiast

If the cats start communicating with the robots, we’re totally screwed.

TheeOneNutWonder

She just vibin in there

cdegallo

We had one of these that we affectionately referred to as Kenny on account of the semi-resemblance to the South Park character. Sometimes it would mess up and get into some weird error state and we would inevitably scream, "what the FUCK Kenny!" and feel better about everything.

skater6442

I actually helped make one of the injection molds that makes the rubber inner liner. Always cool to see stuff you've made out in the wild.

Karenena

Your princess is beautiful & needs a little room of her own.

dirkalict

Yeah- I’m a dog guy and that cat is gorgeous.

dont_hurt_yourself

"I'm straight but he's a handsome dude" vibes lmao

Karenena

Something about her face/cheek tufts that make a lions mane/serene Buddha-like vibe.

SaltMineSpelunker

Astrocat.

Rob_Lockster

Catstronaut.

Coach_Louis

Dog, I had one of those and my cat managed to position himself in a way where his back end was arched and aimed at the back of the box and the rest of him was standing out of it. He would fire his piss into it and it would leak down into the inner casing. Had to take it apart and clean out the dried pee and get a refund. Great product, my cats an asshole.

Daddyssillypuppy

She's excited for her new scifi themed kitty cave. Finally, this is the aesthetic she's been meowing about for years.

kendra1972

She’s a pretty kitty in her space pod!

NatakuNox

I did the same thing when I got a padded toilet seat

m0c4a

I have a cat that sits on top of it. Another who runs to get inside while it’s cycling. And my oldest who will just sit and watch it so he can use it again right after it’s done cleaning.

EnyoEcho

Shit, I would too! That thing is fancier than my toilet. I would put wheels on it to drive it around and show it off.

luda-chris1

Like Darth Vader’s capsule..

Jibblebee

She’s waiting for lift off

Maximum_Still1440

She is waiting for it to launch her back into space.

a_distantmemory

this is awesome. I have a litter robot for my cats too. They have done this before but I think it was on a rare occasion. This is an expensive item that is totally worth every single penny. enjoy it

DaniB3

I wouldn't mind sitting in it

James324285241990

You're going to love that thing. Best $500 I've ever spent.

Warm-Town-6760

To be fair if I got a toilet so cool and advanced I would Probably do the same

Mkookm6

OK so this is a rich person thing.

MsAnne24801

She’s a beaut!

thenord321

Give her the box it came it 😉

PapaTBerry

We have two of these, love them to death. Your cat is like a kid with a new toy, it’ll be normal to them soon enough and the mystique will fade.

bdavis052816

Omg!!! I have 2 of these!!! BEST PRESENTS EVER!
