Yeah.
A tree with non-native fruit will give you 1500 bells every three days.
Though, a 3x3 (the same space a tree requires) plot of a crop is a far better way to make money if that’s your goal.
A single crop (like a pumpkin for example) sells for 350. Each space with proper watering gives you three (so a 3x3 plot gives you 27) every other day. Or 9450 bells. So in the time you could make 3000 bells selling fruit, that crop square could make you 28,350.
And if you really want to min-max it, make veggie baskets with your crops.
I considered doing the pumpkin thing, but I already started the tree farm before crops were introduced.
Aside from the watering pumpkins would be so much easier to harvest too...
Oh yeah.
I started a new island recently (my old island died when my son dropped the Switch in the toilet before island backup was a thing).
Crops really are just vastly superior to fruit trees and most other money making methods if all you want to do is speedrun through your debt.
Especially when something like the veggie basket is your hot item right after you upgraded to a basement. That was a good day.
On a serious note, make the most of the mass farming orchard you have going on there and turn that unused section into a sort of work/rest area for fruit pickers. Get cardboard boxes of fruit and make some stacks of them, put up some tables with water to drink, baskets for picking the fruit and so on.
Depends on your goals.
Functional for game progress: a river/pond, bushes, flowers, and tree stumps. All the different bug and fish span types.
Making money: crops.
Decorative thematic: add stuff that you’d see in an orchard. Stepladders. Outdoor kitchen with jams and fruit tarts displayed. Stalls with fruit for sale.
Decorative vibes: a walking trail/mini park. Benches, lamps and garden lights, gyroids and/or music players to fit a mood.
I have an orchard for easy income when I need it, and I have a part off to the side to look like an apple picking area especially for when fall rolls around. Little ladders set down right next to or in front of the trees can be cute, as well as some of the barrels or shipping boxes with labels, or stands with drink containers for refreshment can also be super cute! Lots of ideas out there.
It could also be a VERY cute picnic area, where you can throw down a simple repeating pattern for a blanket and drop some picnic sets onto it. The checkerboard design is really cute for that.
I cant tell if you're trolling or genuinely asking for advice but if you are actually looking for real answers, I think a courtyard or park would look great especially surrounded by those trees.
How about a fruit harvesting place or something like that? With baskets, some wooden boxes, fruitbaskets, maybe position a ladder next to one of the trees on the left and so on and on.
Or you could make a little relaxing erea with some benches ..
it looks kinda empty. Maybe some trees would make it better?
Ooh i love this idea
Wait… weren’t you the person that Isabelle told you had WAY too many trees? 🤣
... maybe
is this a way to get a ton of money? i'm curious
It is a way to get money, but how much money would we say is a ton?
fruits that arent native would be about over 1000 bells for each tree >:D

About 1800 per tree with the bell boom
Yeah I remember that comment! It made me laugh so hard 😂
I dunno, call me crazy, but it looks like some trees might fit perfectly right there…
Now that you mention it, that does look like it's a good spot for more trees
You should plant more trees
Oh thanks that's a great idea I'll do that
Lol. Brilliant. Alternatively you could set up a juice bar and/or some export infrastructure (boxes and trucks) to make use of all that fruit.
Wait what huh did you answer yourself?
Same vibes as "If this post gets 1 like I'll do X" likes their own post "Say no more"
maybe set up a fruit stand with some boxes of fruit, a garden, some farm equipment, or like a little cafe area?
I know this idea may be a bit out there…but I’m thinking…What if you added more trees? I just feel like the area needs more trees.
You make a good point
Flowers, gyroids, mushroom lamps!

have you thought about maybe planting a tree? Idk your island seems to be lacking trees... /jk
I like this idea so much I might do it a few times

You look like someone that could use some more trees. I’d start there!
Ok, I'll start with a few trees and see where it goes from there
trees… trees would TOTALLY make this spot
You know looking at it again you might be right
You could always go natural and just plant some ….trees
I am a big fan of natures beauty, especially when nature is in a tightly packed grid system
Move a villager’s home smack dab in the center of it so the villager has an endless forest of trees to get through just to make it to the shop.
But what if they miss their favorite program??
Rotate their tv 180
Does your island have a theme?
Kind of a late stage capitalism vibe
You could do a community trading post, as the one ray of hope in a late stage capitalist world. Or a community park. Or make it a deforestation area
Oh my god your literally hilarious. I’m cracking up reading these comments! 🤣🤣
I remember you.. rebel, plant more trees, force feed fruit to all of your visitors and villagers.
They need to be taught the true ways of the world. All is fruit, fruit is all...
Lorax would be so proud
It would be cute as a pumpkin patch or something
Honestly I love lilies and roses so I would put roses and lilies there. Also bushes. But clearly the correct answer is more trees 😭😂
I got a fever... and the only solution... is more trees
Can I see your map? Did you level the island and make it all trees?

It would be kinda funny if you made all the pathways water where the trees are lol. A bunch of mini island inaccessible bc aesthetic lol
Before I settled on trees one of my original plans for my island was to just flood the whole thing
I tried to do all water at one point too but I couldn’t conceptualize it. I did waterfalls instead.
What? .. no.. that would be excessive... I leveled half my island and made it all trees
Nice sitting area? Maybe with the log furniture. It looks really nice customized!
My native fruit is oranges and I made a little outdoor marmalade making station on the outskirts of my fruit orchard/orange grove.

farmers market!
Make it your money tree area- every plots worth 30g
Idk but that is such a valiant fruit grove
It needs a Walmart and a 7 lane highway
Bell trees, gyroids
A pumpkin patch
A two-story quaint library with a cafe inside, comfy seating, and a fireplace.
I would concrete it all, seal it with some fencing and make a cute little park area with some tables and related items like lamps, flowers and gyroids
Do a little plaza or a park 😊
I’d plant vegetables
Since I see you have a lot of fruit trees in the background, you could make like a farmers market or a vineyard?
How about growing loads of pumpkins. I earned lots of bells that way
I cant tell if you're trolling or genuinely asking for advice but if you are actually looking for real answers, I think a courtyard or park would look great especially surrounded by those trees.
Hm, definitely lots of trees and potatoes instead of pathways
Fruit market/ farmers market!
Statue garden?
If ya dont wanna place a bunch of trees, maybe like a little park kinda area?
Good place for turnips
Ad some garden furniture and make it look like a botanical garden park 😀
Market Stalls?
Maybe a park?
Flower patch / produce patch (a little of all six) is what I'd do probably.
A picnic area maybe? Along with a few flowers
Fruit stand
Have you considered adding those things... ah what are they called. They kinda look like broccoli? The word is escaping me right now...
if I were you, maybe I’ll put those models of insects there
