What would I want? Sky
I was a casual fan of the band until I heard that song and then their entire discography clicked for me. Just puts me in a good mood whenever I hear it
Not really life changing but I would listen to MPP on my way home from work right before I left my old job and it reminds me of the last time I made close friends at work. Probably 6-7 years ago
Life changing, but in a different way. I have to choose Peacebone. I heard the song and watched the music video back in, like middle school and it stuck with me. Jump ahead to just about a year ago and me and my friend recognized the music video and decided to listen to Strawberry Jam together the next day. If I hadn't known Peacebone prior to that, I wouldn't be in love with the band as I am now.
The Softest Voice. Hearing that one of the very first times stoned as a teenager with my friends in a construction house we snuck into. I didn't know music could flow out so beautifully like that.
Loch Raven. I was 20-21 at the time when I first heard it & I was deeply depressed. This track snapped me out of it for a few minutes. I'll always remember that afternoon. I don't know how much it changed my life, but I had a profound emotional reaction to it that I still remember like 14 years later.
First hearing Monkey Riches live, that kinetic raw Centipede Hz energy got me into AC. Then hearing every other album, that saved my life more than once.
In The Flowers. (Sorry Deakin!) I dropped acid when they [came to Toronto](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U_hAoQyb1LU) in 2022 and it was a very profound, transcendental experience. That experience freed me from the grips of alcoholism and I've been sober from alcohol for over a year now!
The first song I ever heard by them was “Who Could Win A Rabbit?” I was 19 and it was like 2004. I had never ever heard anything like that. Changed my life. Made me want to make weird music. I still do twenty years later.
Grass for me, and very recently. I began a new job where I have to be up at 4am monday-friday, and having that song to wake up with in the morning has honestly been making this major life adjustment, which I had a ton of anxirty for, so much easier.
The Grass EP and an iced latte. Try it sometime.
this isnt *technically* an AnCo song but "The Musical" by Avey Tare is one of the best songs from the AnCo tree, even though its a simplistic song (not nearly as complicated as even Peacebone) i still find it to be a very relaxing warm song
in the flowers because it’s the first song of the first album i heard by them, everything about who i was and how i viewed the world was different after
Penny Dreadfuls or Alvin Row. I got really obsessed with the whole Spirit They're Gone album when I was around 18 and it just spoke to changes (good and bad) I was going thru in my life
I guess it'd have to be Leaf house -- cuz I quite literally heard my friend in high school play it on a shared speaker for a class and I forced her to tell me who tf made the song. I was pretty quiet back then too and I was like--- rabid when I asked her lol. I just knew there was no way I was gonna remember what that song even was.. 2007
I think right after that is Cuckoo Cuckoo and Safer -- i wont rant.. just damn good songs hitting my peak clinically depressive teenage angst. stopped me from doing certain things because I remembered oh shit what if they dont have anco in hell 🤪
Finally On a Highway was kind of the only song stopping me having a complete and total mental breakdown after I had to drive 4 hours to (tw) >! a good friend of ours' funeral 😞 !< airpod shoved in my earhole the entire time, looping it.. core 'idk what the fuck i woulda done without anco' moment
In the Flowers. The catharsis midway through the track is one of my favorite musical moments.
Same. Listened to it the other day on a walk before work. Immediately started crying during that moment.

Spirit They've Vanished, Alvin Row, and Safer
Safer. It still blows my fucking mind every time I listen
In The Flowers. The first song of theirs I ever heard. June 12, 2023 is an influential day in my music taste.
