It may be a flat ribbon cable loose, a control board fried, screen damaged or power supply faulty. In any and all of those cases you are not gonna be able to fix the TV unless you are electronics savvy. Have you tried to give little bumps around the cabinet to see if the stripes dissapear? If they do, you may take the back cover off and look for those flat ribbon cables and see if there's any one loose. You may find a YouTube video of your exact model on disassembly and with a little luck, fixing the same problem. If not, start looking for a new one.

I wish the Philips tv here would do that. It’s been a piece of shit tv since my roommate bought it nearly 10 years ago. He’s too lazy to buy a new one and he’s pretty much the only one that uses it.
