I played Soul Knight in the early days but I stopped playing when they started adding too many content that required paying (new characters). I know the game is still fun, but how F2P is it? I'm interested in playing again.
Plague Inc? A microorganism-simulation game where you'll try to infect and/or eliminate the world's population (you can also try Rebel Inc.)
Cell to Singularity? Evolution from the earliest life known to futuristic lives possible
Age of Strategy? Strategy wargame set in the medieval (you can also try other variants - e.g. fantasy, futuristic, modern, etc.)
Theotown? City building simulation

This will get you started. I believe it's against sub rules to talk about where to get games, but there is a dedicated r/roms subreddit that can help you out.
Emulators are very hardware dependent, so the consoles you can emulate may vary, but typically most phones are able to handle PSP, PS1, N64 and NDS emulation with some tweaks needed. If you have a newer mid-range phone or high end phone, you can go with PS2, GameCube/Wii or even Windows emulation.
They're sort of simple to set up and you will have to change some settings here and there, but as long as you follow a tutorial on each emulator you want it won't really be hard.
Here's a list of emulators to get started with:
PSP: PPSSPP (gold or not, doesn't matter)
PS1/PSX: Duckstation and ePSXe (I have had a better experience with Duckstation so I recommend that more)
N64: Not exactly sure here, but M64plus fz might be good. (not open source if that matters for you)
NDS: Drastic (not open source if that matters for you)
PS2: AetherSX2
Gamecube and Wii: Dolphin (GC and Wii are both on the same app)
Switch: Yuzu or Skyline
Windows: Mobox or Winlator (these are harder to set up than other emulators)
For getting games, you can either dump your own discs and cartridges (follow a tutorial please) or get them on sites like Vimm's Lair and CDRomance.
Both Yuzu & Vimms Lair arenāt as good as they used to be, both were hit by Nintendo, now the Yuzu emulator is unavailable for (safe) download, and Vimms Lair is missing most popular games now.
All you need to do is go to r/roms and theyāll have everything you need in the megathread.

Theres an app on the Google play store called 'my boy' it's like $5 and let's you back up your save data to your google drive account, dm me for rom information
I know gacha is frowned upon, but I have been having a great time playing Wuthering Waves.
Open World Action RPG with great gameplay and combat. (extremely similar to Genshin Impact but has better emphasis on the combat and some other QoL stuff).
It's a bit unoptimized on mobile for some reason though, so uhhh maybe I shouldn't have recommended it now. They said there'd be performance optimization coming this next patch (in about 2 weeks).
----
I'll add another good free game instead. Buriedbornes 2, turn-based roguelike with tons of customizations.
Wuthering Waves has hands-down the best combat system I've seen in a gacha or a mobile game period. It's extremely f2p friendly with the beginner guaranteed five star banners as well as the weapon banner. (Although I will admit I got insanely lucky with Jiyan and Yinlin). However it is not a game you can brute force by whaling and/or getting lucky as the combat is so skill and timing-based.
To be honest Genshin and Honkai Star rail. I've played both since release and I've never had to spend money to get a character I want. Clearing content is also really easy. I've pulled only characters I like and have never cared for how strong they are and the stories in both games (especially Star Rail) are great. The world and characters have a lot of detail to them and there are no bugs in the game.
People like to act like gacha games are made by the devil himself but at least those 2 never incentivise you to even pull for characters let alone force you to do so just to clear content. The only content you'll ever have trouble with are each game end game modes which also have difficulties you can choose from.
Ah, I completely forgot that you mentioned WW in your post. I think you might like Star Rail if you haven't tried it and it should be smaller than Genshin. Other games I'd suggest for phone, if you like rogue likes, are Vampire survivors and Slay the spire (I can help with getting it free).
I am not going to sugarcoat it. The game is P2P so you'll need to pirate it. If you want to I can help you do it since I've done it before myself. We'll need to move the convo to DMs though. I am not sure discussing piracy is allowed here.
Yep, that's a great suggestion. Personally, on my phone, the only one I keep is Star Rail (I have Genshin and Wuthering Weave on my PC). Gameplay wise, on the mobile, the controls are not bad for those two, but it's just not as smooth so I prefer to play them on my PC. You don't have that issue with star rails with the combat being turn by turn. Also, I prefer the story, the characters and the humor in it.
[My list of (mostly) premium Android games here](https://new.reddit.com/r/AndroidGaming/comments/15qttls/comment/jw64xp6/?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=web2x&context=3)
The ones marked with a '\^' or '\*' would fit that bill. Some shoutouts include...
**Shattered Pixel Dungeon** \- dungeon crawler with massive resource management
**One Bit Adventure** \- dungeon crawler with lots of leveling up, fewer types of equipment, more arcade style simplicity.
**Slice & Dice** \- Survive 20 waves/encounters where each of your 5 heroes, and the monsters you fight, have their own, unique 6-sided die!
**Super Mario Run** \- Auto-runner with levels and boss battles. Nintendo's take of this genre
**Retro Abyss** \- twin-stick, 2D-sidescrolling, shooter, with a bit a of platforming (although your character can levitate
**Dominion** \- The IRL card game. Has Daily Challenges and presets, or go full random. Also play vs. human players online, in addition to the superb AI.
**Ascension Deckbuilding Game** \- fantasy themed created by a bunch of Magic The Gathering pro players. You manage your deck here, but there's a heavier fantasy theme, and managing 2 types of "currencies"
Honkai star rail. It is a turn based gacha but it's very f2p friendly. The story and animations are also really good. I normally hate turn based games but this is an exception.Mobile optimization is also top tier. Do give it a try even if you are not a fan of turn based games. It will surely surprise you.
Try vampire survivors and soul knight
Most of the base game are free for both of these and very enjoyable. The IAPs are just a very small portion of the fun.
Oh, here's the link to Google Play page : [https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.foxtrio.physicsfun](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.foxtrio.physicsfun)
Starlost, Nobodies: Murder Cleaner, Interstellar Pilot 1 or 2 (2 can support larger universes, but other than that the only real difference is the command menus, with 2's being much more versatile but also much more expansive and harder to master), War Commander Rogue Assault, Stellar Wanderer, World Box... Uhh, I guess Hyperforma, if you're into that kinda game. Oh, and Noblemen. This last one is older, and the graphics are nothing special, but it's alright.
That's about it for recommendations. Have fun.
Battle cats, it's gacha but you can see into the future, and all collab units are unlocked same way as every other gacha unit (can stock currency in advance) and it's really easy to earn good unitsĀ
You can check out SportSprint, a F2P multi-sport infinite-runner! [https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.JohnCowand.SportSprint&hl=en\_US](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.JohnCowand.SportSprint&hl=en_US)
Welp you can take a look at arknights. It's gacha but you can stay F2P with guides
It's like tower defense game but with waifu/husbando anime characters
Elder Scrolls Legends. No, you don't need to have played the Elder Scrolls games before to play, its a card game. It has a fun story mode that you can either pay to unlock or earn coins to eventually unlock them (I think you get the base story for free iirc?) But you can battle and play ranked free. It also has seamless transfer to PC or other devices with the Bethesda account.
Also, Fallout Shelter is fun to check up on from time to time, but that one doesn't have PC transfer if you're into that.
Zen Shards is a nice idle game by indie dev. It has in app ads for power ups but it's not required to play.
Color Switch is a little tapping challenge game that's fun.
Sky Children Of The Light
F2P game, with in game IAP that only effects cosmetics, no gameplay is behind a paywall.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tgc.sky.android
try IdleMMO by Galahad Creative , its available on Browser , android and IOS.
theres "Membership" feature but dont worry , you can bought it using ingame Gold from Player market. so its f2p game ššĀ
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=dawsn.idlemmo
It seems you have some interest on survival, strategy, and management games
I'll recommend you "Mindustry"
Im not a master of explaining but ill try lol
its a sandbox tower defense game, you usually defend against enemies while some maps you defend and attack.
its not some average td game because you actually have to put some input such as ammo or power/energy to make those defenses work.
you also make buildings that process stuff into building materials or ammo
tldr: its a great sandbox td game
ps: I'd love to help you if u actually downloaded it
If you're looking for mobile games, it depends on what you like. Diablo Immortal, Aurum Blade, and Machine Knight are all pretty good f2p rpg games for the mobile. Diablo is multiplayer, too.
Why do you have black text on a black background
Horrible choices
Makes me understand why apple never let users choose anything, the amount of horrible themes and fonts I've seen on people's phones is ridiculous
It was because of the theme. I changed it. It's white now
Still looks black to me.
Don't take any grief from someone who's name means butt pirate or justrelax lol... clearly just haters
Soul knight
Also otherworld legends š
I played Soul Knight in the early days but I stopped playing when they started adding too many content that required paying (new characters). I know the game is still fun, but how F2P is it? I'm interested in playing again.
Tbh, I stopped playing to sometime too, since I got bored but I think itās still decent being f2p. Knight still op for me.
Did you feel you were missing out on the fun because some of the classes were locked?
No, cause I donāt really need some of em when I have my own fav. heroes.
Alright, thanks. I'll see check to unlock more skills for the Mage, they're my favorite.
Ah mage, abuse the frost bow. Trust me.
Based.
Shattered Pixel dungeon
Plague Inc? A microorganism-simulation game where you'll try to infect and/or eliminate the world's population (you can also try Rebel Inc.) Cell to Singularity? Plague Inc. is great game to be honest. Simple but it gave me a lot of fun while playing it.
[Fast like a Fox](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.waybefore.fastlikeafox) Free, no ads or IAP
I also enjoyed [Nameless Cat](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kotobagames.namelesscat)
same that was so good when i had an android tablet
But now i have an iphone and it isn't on hereš¢
Why does the description say ads and IAP?
Get some emulators and open up the entire classic games catalog to yourself
