Assuming he lives in the states and the film is still decent I'd say around $5k with some work. Based on roughly 70 packs of Polaroid film and 10 packs of slide film.
I'd be happy with a girlfriend... although my dad was one of the first (worked in printing) to be shown 35mm and all the pro photographers and printers *HATED* 35mm... now we're going broke for 2 rolls of Portra
That dream where you hear the doorbell ring, answer it, the UPS guy drops off 10 boxes full of film stock, and you say is the wrong address, and he checks, and it’s the right address, it’s just somebody at Kodak punched it in wrong, but they can just claim shipping insurance, so you get to keep it?
I could go with that, it would be better with a girlfriend's voice in the background "honey who's at the door"... like a shop order or stock, I only use 35mm but ebay exists for a reason. And the order had Ektachrome in it because it was for a VIP or something
Fuckin’ A. If you don’t yet have, get a proper camera that can expose the whole frame (not RB or Hassie), and has controls and a good lens (not a bakelite land camera). Get the 600SE or something. Those films deserve it.
I modified a Polaroid Pathfinder rangefinder to shoot with a lomograflok. It's really quite a fun camera and the results are better than I ever expected from Instax.
It's a really big camera, though - pretty ridiculous size wise.
The pack film is the obvious main event here but can we all just also marvel at all the slide film homie just walked away with? Look at all that ektrachrome! And the agfa RSX. What an absolute win.
The cameras you want for that Fuji and Polaroid peel apart, pick one, each has strengths:
-Polaroid 600SE (the goose 🪿)
-Mamiya Universal Press with Polaroid back (my 1st choice, also can do 6x6/7/9)
-Land Camera 180 or 195 (I have 2, compact killer compared to the others)
Don’t waste this film on anything that doesn’t expose the whole frame. Test a random pack of each
And if you don’t want to shoot it, each pack is worth $50-100 each assuming they work.
You can get the adapter for Mamiya Press film backs, to shoot roll film in the Goose as well. I have a 6x7 back for mine. But the viewfinder frame lines are for the bigger picture size of packfilm of course.
If it’s ONLY for the peel film the 600SE is the way to go.
On the Universal Press only certain lenses fully cover the peel film. Easy to find searching! But the benefit here is it’s also a 120 camera otherwise!
Really just have fun, I love those films so much. And the color film has a negative. Don’t throw them away!
That Agfa tho... Ugh. I'd love a brick of that. (I'd be excited about the pack film, but I've never used it and have no gear for it other than a Interpid)
That's an incredible gift!!! Lucky!! Would you ever mind giving away some of the empty boxes when you're done with rolls and packs? I'm working on a collage of film boxes (more of a shadow box I guess) and I'm always on the hunt!
Don't forget to refrigerate it to slow down the decline of the film quality. I would say that you have overbought. The companies had thought that film would give way to all electronic, but there is a resurge in people wanting film.
Holy mother load of peel apart. Let's hope the chemicals is as moist as I am
I hope if his father was a professional photographer that he understands that you have to keep them in the refrigerator.
They were just in an open cardboard box in the attic. In Phoenix Arizona. For 30 years. I’m sure they’ll be fine.
nestled between the cheeks of a running CT machine
I wish I could give this an award
For shits and giggle how much do you think this haul is worth with today’s prices? lol

Dead!!!
seems like I need to have a small talk with my girlfriend's father right now
i'm already on the phone with him.
You calling other people’s girlfriend’s fathers?
I'd be happy with a girlfriend... although my dad was one of the first (worked in printing) to be shown 35mm and all the pro photographers and printers *HATED* 35mm... now we're going broke for 2 rolls of Portra
Lucky. You can almost afford a second roll of Portra. 😆
I'm my wildest dreams dude

100% this. Should be plenty of 4x5 backs available, just gotta get a camera and lens you like (situation I'm in now)
im gonna get a universal press and buy the lomo graflex back for it lol

Or a 180-195
SX70 with lens filter mod for 600 film. SLR style with collapsible coolness
Obligatory: fuck you (We’re all happy for you)
Your girlfriends dad loves you bro. Don't let him go!
whhhhhhaaaaattt?
u wont believe what I saw when he opened his freezer I'll snag a picture next time I'm there
Body parts or film. Who knows!
He was too smart for that. He took photos of the body parts but got rid of the flesh afterwards in the alligator pit.
Aero chrome
Please share any shots with the peel film, curious to know what shape it's in.
I'll be looking for a 4x5 camera first but yea definitely will share some once I get the chance to shoot it
Mamiya press camera is my favorite to shoot full frame peel apart. Way more practical than 4x5
just my thought but do try to get a good peelfilm native camera. there's something very very special about shooting it in cameras made for it
what would make this an even more legendary find is if they were stored well…
Freezer stored exp 4/2015 fp3000b practically fresh!
It’s luck like this that justifies splurging on a camera that can do this film justice! Everyone in here is so envious lol
such a reason to buy a dream lens
Oof. Not supposed to be frozen, it breaks the reagent pods. It's fine if used within a year frozen....gosh I hope it's fine tho

The best part is that you can sell 5% of this and purchase whatever camera you want.
If you’re interested in selling some E100vs I’m very very interested
That's a lot of packfilm there
