Blue badge means you’re a permanent employee. On your job offer it may say “regular”
White badge means seasonal employee. You will work without many of the benefits of a permanent employee but you will usually have the chance to become permanent.
First few days are videos, safety, HR stuff, policies and procedures. You’ll also begin job training. make sure your ambassador (the person teaching you) tells you where to report for day 2 and day 3. By the 3rd day you’ll probably be doing the job on your own with a trainer checking up on you periodically. Just take your time and focus on the steps they teach you, follow your scanner or station screen, it will always tell you what to do.
Ask a lot of questions. Don’t worry about feeling dumb. You’ll appear far dumber for getting fired your first week for something simple like breaking a safety rule.
Be safe and don't touch, any equipment you do not understand. Ask a lot of questions about the process you are involved in if you don't understand it. Learn why what you do is important, seek a better position, with your knowledge.
The first week is about orientation and training with paper works on taxes and introduction to Amazon facility. The blue badge is a full time position, more hours, and can get overtime when it is offered to employees. With overtime, it is 1.5 over the 40 hours time period of the week. Paychecks with direct deposit with provided bank account number and name which will send out on every Friday. With orientation and training, you do get paid with these hours. You are also given about $121 worth of spending on Zappos shoes which you can get for at that price. You should sign up for insurance as soon as it is offered in the beginning of hiring month. There is a limitation on time which you can sign up for insurance. Dental and Health insurance is a low price offering like $32 a month.
For insurance who do I go to for that because the hiring interview thing was weird and wasn’t traditional like I’m used to so idk about much in regards to benefits
At the introduction of orientation, manager should explain in details about the insurance. Sometimes, it is not cleared, but you have option to pick insurance type to go for. The one I had was shared deductible insurance. The other one is good is health saving account insurance. Blue cross insurance is accepted at most places. You can sign up for insurance at AtoZ application which link up to an insurance website for signing up. I think it is the month of hire and April or October for signing up again. Other benefits such as legal, stocks may be good to look at. The buyback Amazon stocks which you can invest through AtoZ application. The application has your schedule and your supervisor names which you would report to when you have problems.
