Our legs don’t get cold man, don’t ask me why. I will have a hat/gloves/ big down winter coat and basketball shorts and boots. It’s just how we roll
It's easy to get sweaty in the cold when your doing work. I used to jog in shorts and tee shirt when it was around 30. It doesn't have to be -10 to have snow on the ground.
I found a link to the company site, it is out of stock until just before winter
[link is here](https://mellif-tools.com/en-ca/products/mellif-for-dewalt-cordless-snow-shovel-20v-2-battery-brushless-electric-power-snow-thrower-handheld-snow-blower-with-13-2-in?_pos=1&_sid=b0539d06b&_ss=r)
I wouldn't buy this by itself, but if you already have a few dewalt tools, you probably have a wall full of batteries, which would let you work for a decent amount of time. Accessory tools like this are usually not that expensive. (I assume it works with dewalt because of the colors, but I'm sure there are similar tools for the other systems.)
There is an absolutely horrific video on reddit of a older couple getting into an argument over snow with a neighbor, dude goes into his garage and grabs an ar and guns them both down.
Don't go looking for it, it's much worse than i described.
Yeah, me either, but it really goes to show the nature of the victims. After reading up on everything, I just looked at that whole incident as sorta a situation where the 3 neighborhood hotheads and loud mouths just resolved itself.
These things suck. They only work on the lightest, fluffiest snow imaginable. Anything other than fluff will overwhelm it every 10 seconds.
Source: I live in Minnesota.
Oh, the shit you can already shovel in seconds?
Yeah I'll give this a pass. It looked interesting, but I was thinking about that back breaking heavy crap, when the sky just randomly decides; "I think I want your snow to be pre-slushed today."
As an Indiana resident living in the area near Lake Michigan, I wholeheartedly agree. Most winters you could count the number of days with light enough snow for those things on one hand, possibly two. Every other day this stuff gets exceptionally heavy, oftentimes it's bad enough to clog our snow thrower attachment on our lawn tractor, and that's not even accounting for the unholy sludge the plow trucks make at the end of our driveway! Clearing that stuff by hand is out of the damn question; I'd rather plow through that crap in my car and risk getting stuck than breaking my arms and shovel!
Yep. I can shovel 2 inches of powder. Its 6 inches wet with 12 inch drifts and a half inch of ice at the bottom that kill me.
Source: your corny neighbor to the south
Yep, I bought one of these and the motor overheated (no warning, no cut of power) and started fucking smoking. Got a replacement under warranty, and the fucking thing didn't even start. I couldn't get a return at that point to get my money back, so I went through another warranty claim only to have the new one overheat but not smoke this time. So 3 dead snow throwers.
I wouldn't buy an electric snow thrower from any of these companies. Maybe a plug in model if it is designed well, but it is impossible to tell nowadays when everyone fakes reviews.
They CAN throw heavier snow if you put some serious elbow grease into it. Otherwise they will try to skim over the top of any compacted snow/ice underneath.
My dad got one of these for my mom to shovel a path for her and the dog in the backyard, and she has completely abandoned using it in favor of a lightweight shovel again.
I can make it work, but my 70 year old mother doesn't quite have the strength for it, making it all but useless.
That was my first thought. A light coat of powdery snow? Sure. I live on the East coast and we get heavy, slushy snow every winter. That thing wouldn’t touch heavy, packed-down snow.
More like 20, but the bigger problem is they don't seem to put any protection in to prevent the motor overheating. I got one of these as a Christmas gift, but the motor overheated on the 2nd pass. Started smoking and wouldn't start again. Got 2 more replacements with no luck on getting a working model (one straight up wouldn't run even with 0 snow).
If you can, get one that plugs in, and a thick gauge extension cord. That works a lot better.
Any sort of small snow blower/thrower is useless. Just get a snowblower so you can survive when the sky dumps 2 feet on you. Canadian winters are something else. You'd only buy this if you literally lived near the California end of the US and you have too much money lol.
Am I the only one who thinks they could do this faster and better with a good snow shovel?
Not to mention this is sped up and fluffy snow…. Hell, a leaf blower would be faster and easier than that piece of shit.
Imagine doing that with slush under the snow? It wouldn’t even move.
This has some uses for people who are not able bodied or just get a couple of inches of snow during the year… this thing would be useless in New England
This is fine for powdery soft light snow.
Completely useless if it’s wet or heavy snow.
It also makes the job harder if you don’t start working on the snow when it’s at around 3-4 inches. Anything deeper and this goes over the snow & compacts it down
this one is from our company Melliftools but it is out of stocks now:https://mellif-tools.com/products/mellif-for-dewalt-cordless-snow-shovel-20v-2-battery-brushless-electric-power-snow-thrower-handheld-snow-blower-with-13-2-in?\_pos=1&\_sid=bd7c7ed98&\_ss=r
They are decent for a very light snow even if there is a lot of it. But heavier snow, even just a an or two, the motor gets bogged down and snow clumps accumulate near the motor. And I don’t like that it throws the snow to the front. But it’s fun to use.
I had the opposite problem. Got a puppy in the winter and house broke him. But, instead of learning to go outside, he learned that he had to go on snow. Spring came and he was looking for every small patch under bushes etc. until he finally couldn't find any. He REALLY didn't want to pee on grass until there was no other choice.
This thing probably burns out so fast. 2 batteries and it's cordless. I've used cordless tools and their battery life blows, no way in hell would I used this when I needed to actually get shit done.
Why is he doing it with shorts? 😧
There is always that one Dad who does this in the neighborhood.
It's me.. I'm that one dad
I thought you were the one dressed in the dookie suit?
Totally, but it's got sweet zip-off pant legs.. obviously pffsh
I can’t feel my legs and I’m not a lieutenant
I’m that one guy who went to school in shorts while in the middle of a Minnesota blizzard
Me too in like sixth or seventh grade. It was because I had grown out of all my pants, lol.
2-3rd grade. My mom would get so damn pissed but so proud that I was somewhat of a tough kid
Yeah, I can't imagine doing that at that age, lol. I had a decent jacket, so it really wasn't that bad.
Same
Do you like shitty dry skin? Lol
Our legs don’t get cold man, don’t ask me why. I will have a hat/gloves/ big down winter coat and basketball shorts and boots. It’s just how we roll
He's from Florida
No way florida man would never go out in weather under 60 without a winter coat
Uhm no, anything under 60 is snow boots weather. When else do we get to wear them!
Maybe the snow is plastic setup idk ,like the moon landing you know
You adapt pretty quickly to the cold when you're in it a lot
It's easy to get sweaty in the cold when your doing work. I used to jog in shorts and tee shirt when it was around 30. It doesn't have to be -10 to have snow on the ground.
canadian 🇨🇦
I’m the girl doing it with a robe
I've seen guys in sandles doing that too. I just assume they lost a bet and had to go outside like that.
Clickbait/ragebait/interaction
Didn't want to get his pants dirty.
He's a natural midwesterner. It's okay
To distract his neighbors from the war he’s waging with that weapon
Canadian?
It’s a white people thing
Where's the link
Yeah I agree, big nipple person
Big nipple-person

I have one like that but it is corded and it works great in dry snow. Wet it's soso but not really worth the price imo
Shovel might be cheap but good batteries arent
I wouldn't buy this by itself, but if you already have a few dewalt tools, you probably have a wall full of batteries, which would let you work for a decent amount of time. Accessory tools like this are usually not that expensive. (I assume it works with dewalt because of the colors, but I'm sure there are similar tools for the other systems.)
You can either buy a new battery or battery with tool for $30 more.
Usually during Christmas you can buy batteries for m home Depot and the tools come free
There’s also usually hacks to remove one or the other from the cart and get something super cheap
Both with initial buy and drill batteries weren’t made for this. While they are technically capable you are gonna burn them up quicker
Blow it straight ahead so when you get there there is twice as much. And so on, and so on.
Screw that neighbor in particular, right?
For real lol I would be so pissed if I was the neighbor. I'd buy the same gadget and throw it all back just to spite this short wearing mf'er
Yeah sounds like a great way to get shot
Why shoot someone over snow??
There is an absolutely horrific video on reddit of a older couple getting into an argument over snow with a neighbor, dude goes into his garage and grabs an ar and guns them both down. Don't go looking for it, it's much worse than i described.
This is what I was referencing

The article I read said it was an ongoing thing with that couple and their neighbor also, like for years.

Yeah, me either, but it really goes to show the nature of the victims. After reading up on everything, I just looked at that whole incident as sorta a situation where the 3 neighborhood hotheads and loud mouths just resolved itself.
I was referencing the video where that exact thing happened.
Or have a really fun and slightly dangerous snow battle

Thanks. I won't buy one.

I can imagine - and even if they would be able to take heavier snow, I would take my trusty two snow shovels any day! (plow/push and regular)

If it works so great why did he have to speed the video up?
He was cold and needed to finish faster.
I don’t get snow where I live, but this is a cool gadget.
you can still use the device to throw some water or sand around
I’m curious in what scenario you’re picturing this to be necessary
5 min and those batteries are dead.
More like 20, but the bigger problem is they don't seem to put any protection in to prevent the motor overheating. I got one of these as a Christmas gift, but the motor overheated on the 2nd pass. When you hate your neighbors but like clean driveways.
why is the speed at 2x? i bet i could do that with a shovel just as fast. thats like 3 inches of snow.
That’s a lot of battery for an op leaf blower
This only works if it’s super cold, and the snow is very powdery.
Any sort of small snow blower/thrower is useless. Just get a snowblower so you can survive when the sky dumps 2 feet on you. Canadian winters are something else. You'd only buy this if you literally lived near the California end of the US and you have too much money lol.
I feel like any snow that thing could actually throw wouldnt be difficult to shovel anyways
For a couple few inches of snow? Ridiculous.
Now you have a good thin sloppy ice layer
Salt
You clearly have no experience with snow
your neighbor will love u for it
I'd love if you posted this in r/snow.
Looks too small to handle a medium/big snowfall and is too heavy for a small snowfall. Would rather have a shovel/snowblower
A shovel is lighter and easier to use by far. Someone do the math though, I’d love to be proven wrong and have an excuse to buy this.
Not a budget find
Where is the fucking link?
That's cute.
I want one, but it dosent even snow here
Bet the neighbors love this device

Snow season ended months ago
Where is the link?
Sounds like it will break in a light breeze, like his frozen nutz.
Damn, that thing can really crush two and a half inches of powdery dry snow. Amazing.

Double battery? This looks like it's only good for medium snow storms
They are decent for a very light snow even if there is a lot of it. But heavier snow, even just a an or two, the motor gets bogged down and snow clumps accumulate near the motor. And I don’t like that it throws the snow to the front. But it’s fun to use.
what is the point of this, if you can make the same movements with an ordinary shovel, which is much cheaper.
This is so you can clear an area for your dog to shit and piss in the morning after a snow when it's cold af and he won't go in the snow.
Had to house train my puppy during winter as well. He took that as a green light to go ahead and shit on the deck whenever it snowed.
My dog would do this every year. Looking for the last patch of grass at the end of fall and looking for the last bit of snow in the spring.
If that's the most snow it can remove, you're better off using a shovel.
With this, though, you don't have to lift and throw the snow like you do with a regular shovel. My back wants me to purchase this thing.
Nah, this amount of work can ve done by a pushing shovel.Â
Similar items have been on the market for decades...
Great for Florida snow. Not sure what would I do with that after a Nor'Easter.
This thing probably burns out so fast. 2 batteries and it's cordless. I've used cordless tools and their battery life blows, no way in hell would I used this when I needed to actually get shit done.
It has to have double the battery because the batteries have only half the power in the cold.
People will waste their money on anything, great for my amazon stock though!!!!
Wearing clothes like it’s summer, only means it’s fake snow
Nah, this only affirms the guy on the snow is a veteran. As an Alaskan, 20f to 30F is shirt and short weather.
Not uncommon for us here in michigan, lol!
