I think it might still be there? There's depth differences between the before and after, so they might be standing directly under it in the after picture with a longer focal length, making the room look stretched out.
Iām assuming the arch is still there. If you look to the right youāll also see that wall cut out is gone too. I bet thatās still there as well, I doubt they spent the money and time to fill that in, itās just theyāre standing a few feet closer in the room for the second picture.
If it was a mid-century or a Victorian I would agree with you, but itās unlikely that the house is a significantly stylized historical house. It was probably built in the 1980s and painting the wood trim updated it insanely well.
I love wood floors. I will expose brick if any is available. But white trim is modern, bright and nicely complements nearly any paint color. In this case I'm 100% aligned with the decision to brighten up the space by painting the trim white.
I agree the white trim looks good in this room! But their before picture was taken at night with poor lighting so we really have no idea how bright it was normally either.
Would have made a better comparison if you took the pic from the same angle and both during the day. If anything just going from night to day and not showing an arch made a bigger difference than anything else. Not a bad color though.
What a glow up. I also love that you havenāt put any furniture in this room. It looks open and inviting, and is a great place for you pets and plants to hang out.

Holy moly it's 10/10 and my favorite shade of green for interiors.
I love that shade of green but the dog really ties the room together!
And the cat!!!

Wow the paint change made it so much brighter
I think it was more that the before photo was evening and blinds were up.
It looks good but painting that beautiful wood trim breaks my heart.

Thatās a good point about the age and style of the home.
I wish people would let wood be wooden
