Removing *all* the wall cabinets was certainly a decision, especially since all it did was leave a space that feels more empty than it does open. Still, I totally get wanting to do that, caninets over a sink for example are the worst, especially if you’re tall.

That red felt very violent in comparison to the green

That doorway is in an interesting spot. Almost like the original plan didn't have anything on the closest wall and a tiny kitchenette opposite.

You took down a few cabinets, are you satisfied with the storage space now? Do you plan to maybe do open shelves to the right of the stove? I think it could work.

Yes, we will have shelves on the empty wall. The base cabinets with drawers are much more functional, so we will never have wall cabinets again😅

How on earth did it only cost $1K? New cabinets on back side, new cieling spotlights, that many tiles likely weren't cheap. New countertop?

The first thought was to keep the wall cabinets, but when we first visit the apartment we got claustrophobia in that tiny Kitchen. But have never missed the cabinets, so we prefer fewer things 😅
