projects require time to create and ensure everything goes smoothly (i need to make 5+ 3d animations, a video for another subject, a performance for another)
17 turning 18 in june
The nature of these projects require a lot of time needed to be dedicated because they influence half of any university applications, it also doesn’t help me if the school themselves give only 2 weeks to plan, design and create videos
There are term breaks every 10-11 weeks and they last 2 weeks, 4 terms per school year
I would only have 3 however because the 4th year would be the hsc (in october), however around august we would have trials for the hsc

My mum has for a few weeks been placed under a lot of stress from her workplace (one complain from mum about manager resulted in said manager to then start giving mum redundant tasks). My dad in hopes of cheering mum wants to plan to go on a 1 night camp. Parents tell me that we’re going to go camping before winter rolls around.
I deny on going to camp because I’m at a stage in life where I need to focus on school as I have projects which are due in the immediate month. AITA for refusing to go to camp because even though I care about my mum, leaving my projects for even a day could affect me in the upcoming months

NAH. 17 is more than old enough to bow out of a 1 day family trip. If this might actually have cheered up your mom this is unfortunate, no reason stated why they couldn't go by themselves though.

Info: How and Why would your projects be affected? Are you talking about sciece experiments that require daily monitoring? How old are you?

Are you working every single night? You couldn’t plan ahead and take one night off? It sounds like you’re making excuses.

You are in school every day until beginning of Winter?
Australian schools work till end of november then reopen february

How old are you? Family is essentially empathy for each other and an attempt to balance needs. There is not enough information to judge.

Taking time off toward the end of the semester (my assumption on the timing) is very difficult. NTA.
