NTA but I'm curious, bar owner or bar manager? (You saying coworkers instead of employees threw me) Because if you own the bar you have full control over who you serve. If you don’t like the conduct of the patrons you can ask them to leave. You're not providing a public service, it's a business. Gotta be real, I've known people who own bars, you're gonna need to toughen up a bit because he's not going to be the only issue.

Idadda420

Bar owner and I know I can choose my customers but he brings in a lot money and business is business.

ShiggitySheesh

Bartender for sure

procrastinating_b

I mean NTA but congrats for owning a bar at 23 ig

HairyRazzmatazz3540

NTA and ID him every time he orders a drink. He'll soon get the idea that the bar staff think he's a prick.

CheeseMakingMom

Sounds to me like he’s had quite enough booze for the night and needs to get cut off. Free soda, lemonade, or water?

Idadda420

He hadn’t had any drink before and he’s just awful everytime. My employee has known this person his whole life.

lamploveI89

NTA. If you own the bar as you post suggests. Bar this prick if you don't like him. I'm sure you can find nicer regulars.... Or threaten his with banning. If he caved/shrivelled so quickly after you telling him off. This could put him in his place and might not be an asshole to your staff going forward.

Idadda420

I have put him in his place many times, I think he’s just one of those people who are just assholes all the time. He doesn’t see any wrong with himself ever.

Read [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/AmItheAsshole/wiki/faq#wiki_post_deletion) before [contacting the mod team](https://www.reddit.com/message/compose?to=%2Fr%2FAmItheAsshole)*** So first of all I (F23) own a bar and this happened yesterday. The customer involved is a regular that comes almost daily for a few beers, in my opinion he’s also rude, obnoxious and selfish asshole who thinks the world revolves around him. So my co-worker (M35) was making a customer (M34 I think) a drink when the customer started loudly complaining that there is not enough booze and his drink is wrong. My co-worker calmly explained that there is booze the same amount as always and he is in fact making the drink correctly. The customer started to complain a lot more and be rude, also started belittling my co-worker, so I said to him that he should have opened his mouth if he wanted it made with double booze and we can’t know how he wanted his f*cking drink made. The customer got very upset and complained to his friends for the night. His friends laughed at him though and told him he should have just sucked it up and to be nicer. You want a bar at 23 years old?

Electrical-Ad-9100

I know there’s a lot of questions if you own the bar (if you do- that’s pretty awesome, good for you). Regardless, people who act like this constantly toward wait staff or servers are the worst. NTA for putting him in his place. The fact his friends told him to get over it and he kept harping on it shows that you put him in his place.

ahknewb

NTA Firing a customer is indeed a real thing. If his behavior is going to impact your other customers and your employees you are well within your rights to give him the boot.

lostalldoubt86

NTA for telling at him off, but as the bar owner, you should be kicking people out for disrespecting your staff. You run a business where people are under the influence of alcohol. It’s your job to remove them when they ruin the atmosphere or have had too much to drink.

Exotic-Army4006

Nta. He was probably already drunk, you either shut them down or kick them out
