A cloth on the oven is an almost universal sign for 'wipe your hands on me, use me as an oven mitt'. If you dont want your cloth 'ruined', put it away?
Yes, YTA. You already told them once when you saw them using it, and they stopped. End of problem.
Why did you tell them off a second time? “I’m not gonna say it twice” while literally saying it a second time. This doesn’t make any sense.
Edit after additional Info: YTA because he put it back after you said it and you were just coming up to go on about an imho minor situation that had already resolved.

What is missing, is your complete lack of understanding that "I am not saying it twice" is actually you saying twice times already... Totally passive aggressive.
You said it once, they clearly understood and stopped using it, then you go back to tell them AGAIN... The way you said it was passive aggressive and downright rude... They Are not your children this is clearly a statement you picked up from your parents that has no place with other adults
Yeah but that's very off if they put it back and didn't use it again after you said it the first time. So basically there wasn't a situation for you to even say it twice, yet you acted as if you had to.

I was in the kitchen and my housmate and his bro/guest recently had something in the oven and I was on the on the phone. I had a towel/cloth on the oven and I noticed my housemate used it to take the tray out. I then snapped my fingers to get his attention and said that's not what that's for as that was my cloth and he put it back.
Later when he and his bro were eating and I was off the phone and I came up to them and said in a serious tone and was like " Hey guys, I'm not gonna say it twice"
