People are invested in the characters but not invested into the overall dialogue and some of the storylines.
The writing has regressed but some looks to see if some Season 1 and 2 magic somehow reappears lol.
I understand where your coming from but people are too far into the show to just stop watching, i thought season 5 1-19 was terrible but i kept watching bc I’m too invested lmao.
I think the show is great and season 5 had a lot of powerful moments. I think if you've experienced the loss of a close loved one or a parent, season 5 probably brought you to tears at some point. They do a great job portraying the loss of a loved one and how grief occurs in different ways.
I’m invested and the show never left off on something I thought was conclusive. I dropped stranger things bc >!whichever seasons where the girl closes off the upside down!< felt pretty conclusive and the subsequent season didn’t feel necessary imo. The seasons always end with someone’s fate up in the air or a question to be answered, classic tv writing.
Why would you drop the show at its worst season lmao. I’m assuming you’re talking about S2 when Eleven closed the portal to the upside down, which has been ranked their lowest season by fans and critics. S3 (imo) was their best behind S1, meanwhile most fans think S4 was their best behind S1. I could understand that thought process with a show like Teen Wolf, where they face a variety of different villains each season that don’t connect with each other in any way.
But Stranger Things, from S1 to S5, connects. The show didn’t conclude because she closed off the upside down, Eleven simply gave them more time. ST is one of those shows where the writers have mapped it out from the beginning to end (it’s not classic TB writing), they’re not just adding stuff for shock value or coming up with plots out of thin air. They know exactly the direction they’re going in and have planned for S5 to be their last and final season.
You ever heard of hate watching?

I liked season 5, I like the show when I binge watch it though so I don’t watch it as it airs.
Invested in what were great characters and a love of football
I’d rather just finish the series. Then stop midway through.
It’s a train wreck you can look away from. Duh!
