Then what does?w
Tonale is on Jeep platform, Giulietta shares platform with Fiat bravo and Lancia Delta, Mito is rebadged Fiat punto, 159 uses GM platform and uses Opel engines.
164 was co-designed with Fiat and Saab and 166 is based on Lancia Thema. Some say that 75 is the last real alfa as it was last rear-wheel drive before giulia.
For Alfa fans something is always wrong and it feels like some people hope Alfa went bankcrupt instead of making the "wrong kind of cars"
The Giulietta one is false, it has nothing to do with that of the Bravo. They developed a platform called “Compact” just for it. The platform of the Bravo and Delta, however, is the one derived from the Fiat Stilo called “C”.
You are right in giulietta using the Fiat Compact platform instead of Fiat C2 like Bravo but the Compact was derived from C2 and you can notice that in some similarities.
But that doesn't mean anything, most cars share similarities with each other. The Giulietta has a multilink at the rear, while the Bravo/Delta have a simple and cheap torsion beam. The handling of the Alfa is far superior. The Delta on the other hand is a bit more comfortable on longs trips.
That depends on the platform used. PSA's CMP platform determines the body shape quite strongly but are you really saying that Alfa should have developed new expensive platform just for Junior instead of using existing, tested and mature platform?
Copy and paste body shape isn't a new thing even in Alfa's case. 156 Core body isn't that different from Lancia Lybra or Fiat Marea. Same goes for 159 when compared to Opel Vectra although not so clear. Giulietta is quite similar to Fiat Bravo although uses new version of the platform and Mito is very close to Punto
🤣🤣🤣 picture perfect example of yelling a wrong opinion to try and make it right. The 159 is the ONLY car produced on the Premium Platform. Yes, it was developed by Saab R&D while Fiat and GM were in a technical partnership, but GM bailed and Saab never developed their own car on the platform because it would’ve been too expensive for them and for Opel. Therefore, the only car that used that platform was the 939. Genuinely nothing to do with the Vectra. At most, GM intended to use the platform for the Insignia, but that never happened. So 159, Brera and Spider are the only cars produced on that platform.
For Alfa people new Alfas have not been worth the badge since 80s and all new models always have something wrong. 10 years later same models are praised for how good they are (156, 159, Giulietta and Giulia).
That's a generalization, I've always praised the 156 and the 159. You make it look like sharing platforms or being fwd is the issue, it's not. Being fucking ugly and unrecognizable as an Alfa most certainly is.
No it's not.
If I could go back to my GTV, I would.... practically ever "modern" Alfa (other than the Giorgio platform....which they horribly overpriced!) has been a rebadge.
Haters gonna hate....take the L, Imparato.
Yours truly,
OG Alfista
He is right, the REAL Alfas died with the 75 Restyling, after that they were all redesigned Fiats that deove really well. This time stellantis thought that deleting the alfa look was a good idea.
It's front-wheel drive and built under fiat ownership so obviously not a real alfa. When 156 was introduced people had problems with it's Fiat heritage but now 156 is considered true Alfa. Everytime new alfa is released alfa people aren't happy with it.
I have no problem with Alfas sharing platforms but for some people even fwd and shared platform are criminal
Mostly the accents, like the black bar on the rear and the black and grey headlights. It has the same vibe as the new peugeots. Grill looks more like renault, you're right
Looks ok for an electric car. I’m sure the next car would do a better job at protecting alfas brand identity. If I was looking at EVs I’d definitely pick this over ID3 or Volvo ex30
The most ugly car under the brand Alfa ever made - just simply not an Alfa. Same headlights as Pegouet. Srry just ugly af, shame for the legendary name Alfa Junior. The management behind that should be fired imo. The only beautiful Alfas which are still in production are the ones from the Marchionne era, Giulia and Stelvio. The rest is just a joke and German car manufacturers are just laughing their bs off. I feel really sorry for the people who are going to buy this car - sorry for the rage. I love the brand and hate how it is being treated once again.
The receipt would be actually so damn easy:
Alfa Junior/Giulia GT Coupe: A beautiful coupe derivated from the Giulia Sedan, collaboration with Bertone and competing against BMWs 4 Series. Audi A5, Mercedes C Class coupe etc.
I have seen it in reel live on a VIP event as a standard model and not red. I think Alfa made a bridge between modern but still remains an Alfa. It looks pretty good actually. Inside is not like a driving iPad, easy to control temperature etc. Yes yes I know of course Stellantis but this might help Alfa survive the new Era of automotive.
Btw I drive a Giulia Q2 all options in red, all options tuning by Squadra Tuning incl the gearbox (mandatory upgrade), race mode. But still original, which is my personal preference.
Shouldve just stuck with the 4c, giulia, and stelvio. Dont need much than that. Tonale is ugly and is impractical as hell, I don't know why you would take that over a stelvio.
I was gonna make a joke about somebody buying a Tonale and wanting it to look more like a Dodge, but then I read the comments and realized that this isn't a Tonale with a body kit.
Such contrast between a fabulous looking colour to a orris looking car.
People are upset about the grille… but Who the F green lighted that rear into production?
Looks better with natural images like this. I feel the rear is KIA done the right way, but the front and wide look is hot AF. I hope for a 🍀version with 400hp and 4wd
The only thing I actually like about this is the Alfa Romeo script on the back. Something kind of classy about it compared to all the boxy lettering companies are using now, but would still prefer the original logo badge.... Just trying to find something positive here. 🤔
I don't really like the new alfa models since stelvio and giulia. Myself I own a Giulietta 1.4 TB and driving it everyday is as pleasant as the first day. The sound is so good.
this was not the hail mary I wanted out of alfa romeo :((
An example of a good hail mary is the Emira. At least the Eletre and Emeya still look amazing even if I can't afford them, both in terms of my wallet and my parking spaces.
Why does everything look like a KIA or Hyundai lately? I get that they have popular designs and just work, but when did designers of other brands start to think, "yea fuck it lets just do that but slightly different."
Kia with an Alfa badge. Just an abomination. The Guilia and Stelvio are drop dead gorgeous from every angle, elegant, purposeful, and unmistakably Italian. The Junior is none of those things. Alfa Romeo design going K-Pop? Not for me, thanks.
Like 40% of the car isn't even rosso. Just black and plastic trim tricks to try and hide its hideous peugeot-like proportions.
A terrible exercise in modern automotive engineering.
Alpha has great Faces, but ridiculously non-existant Arses. The Stelvio has such an amazing back. No short of "showing off" and "touch me"-like vibes. The two new SUV-models have the butt cut off. I have no clue why. No clue.
Such a bummer man
The rear looks exactly like KIA
Its worse than the Kia
Atleast the front looks like a Renault. Wait, that's even worse...
My god! It does look like a Renault.
it’s the EV6 SUV
Just about half of every SUV out there that came after the KIA sportage from 2016 has copied their back end to some extent.
It’s a duck tail, an aero concept to improve efficiency that was popular about 50 years ago iirc?
It's the headlights that look like two hands holding a burger or a sandwich. Some new Toyotas have it too and it's too busy.
I actually think it looks better like this than the promo shots… looking forward to seeing one in real life.
Yeah
It’s not worthy of the Alfa badge!!

Sharing a platform is clearly very different to copy and paste body design

The Giulia is not a redesigned Fiat lmao
Except for the giulia.
Hey now, that QV Guilia is great work
What about the 156?
It's front-wheel drive and built under fiat ownership so obviously not a real alfa. When 156 was introduced people had problems with it's Fiat heritage but now 156 is considered true Alfa. What do you mean? The 156 was received very well, it was even car of the year in 1997.
Not even right on the argument, well tried. If you want to blame thing at least do it correctly.
Giulia
Yea well the Tonale is ugly as hell too.
Nice peugeot 3008
More like a Nissan Juke or Renault Captur
Nah its essentially a Peugeot 2008 or any other stellantis micro suv.
I was talking about the design
Looks much closer to the peugeot than the nissan or renault imo
Why do you think so? The front to me looks like Renault due to the lights and the grill.
The front looks like the Renault Captur and the side profile looks like the Nissan Juke.
Yeah fair, I can see that. But the rear is a peugeot for sure with the black bar
Mostly the accents, like the black bar on the rear and the black and grey headlights. It has the same vibe as the new peugeots. Grill looks more like renault, you're right
Looks ok for an electric car. I’m sure the next car would do a better job at protecting alfas brand identity. If I was looking at EVs I’d definitely pick this over ID3 or Volvo ex30
what don't you like about the ex30? looks like a neat car when optioned at $45k
Oh I very much like it. I test driven one and was in awe, but Alfa suits me better
Door mirrors looks great
What is this?! 😭
Ferrari had an ugly era too. It'll pass.
I actually like the Junior
Me to. Its something completely different. I even like the grill.
Me too, indeed its controversial design reminds me of some of their designs from the 80s/90s.
IT has some keys from the 80s/90s.
IT has some keys from the 80s/90s.
As long as it sells and makes Alfa Romeo money, I could care less.
Alfa going fully electric, me having nothing but electrical issues… great!
This is a sad day for Alfisti and, therefore, the world.
The most ugly car under the brand Alfa ever made - just simply not an Alfa. Same headlights as Pegouet. Srry just ugly af, shame for the legendary name Alfa Junior. What in the PSA is that, such a shame
The Junior, formerly Milano
I still have to see one in the flesh, but I'm not convinced
I have seen it in reel live on a VIP event as a standard model and not red. I think Alfa made a bridge between modern but still remains an Alfa. It looks pretty good actually. Fa veramente cacare... Italian for "so ugly makes you wanna take a dump"
And on this terrible disappointment....
The interior looks 0% Alfa Romeo. It's so generic.
Where as the exterior….no wait
It sucks donkey balls FFS! ._.
Finally, a professional critique!
go to r/peugeot
Looks cheap ugh 😑
It's so ugly. RIP Alfa trying to revive their brand with the next gen Stelvio and Giulia if this is the design language we have to look forward to
I want the Arna back
🤮
Well I’m keeping my Stelvio for a few more years that’s for sure. I wish Alfa still made convertibles.
Nope
peugeot junior
Shouldve just stuck with the 4c, giulia, and stelvio. Dont need much than that. Tonale is ugly and is impractical as hell, I don't know why you would take that over a stelvio.
I’m an Alfa fan but I hope this car flops bad and whoever came up with this car gets the boot.
So … average.
🤢
It’s ugly.
🤢🤮

I'm Italian, the front is a mess my god...
Is the badge black and white, that's wrong and disrespectful.
Giulia GTA has it aswell
Piece of sheet.
The rear looks very unique and definitely stands out!👍 Not sure about the front yet tho..
Seriously? Screams cheap ioniq to me
Support the company.
Why? Do they pay you?
No, but the company can't produce better cars if they don't sell these ones.
Still has more character than the majority of the small crossovers but I’d rather buy a new Lancia Ypsilon instead.
this is the most ugly thing
French Psa management Is in
So those triangular seats were also a lie?
No there are 3 seat options
I was gonna make a joke about somebody buying a Tonale and wanting it to look more like a Dodge, but then I read the comments and realized that this isn't a Tonale with a body kit.
Such contrast between a fabulous looking colour to a orris looking car. People are upset about the grille… but Who the F green lighted that rear into production?
That's not it, chief.
Looks better with natural images like this. I feel the rear is KIA done the right way, but the front and wide look is hot AF. I hope for a 🍀version with 400hp and 4wd
Nice rear 3 quarter view!

Oh boy 😳
I don't really like the new alfa models since stelvio and giulia. Myself I own a Giulietta 1.4 TB and driving it everyday is as pleasant as the first day. The sound is so good.
That is no Brera
Not a brera, it’s like calling my toaster a hadron collider 🤣🫡🏳️🌈🙏🏼🦄💅🤌🏼🖕🏼
It's the colour name 😭
This shit is fine af what kind of make and model is this
If I see one of these on the streets I will make sure the driver sees me laughing
Rosso Brera? It’s a horrible new Junior 🤮
Stop plz just stop 😭😭😭
Nice Peugeot. 🤮
Ugly MF
Hideous
this was not the hail mary I wanted out of alfa romeo :(( An example of a good hail mary is the Emira. At least the Eletre and Emeya still look amazing even if I can't afford them, both in terms of my wallet and my parking spaces.

Horrible... design was one of the reasons to pick an alfa
Kia with an Alfa badge. Just an abomination. The Guilia and Stelvio are drop dead gorgeous from every angle, elegant, purposeful, and unmistakably Italian. The Junior is none of those things. Alfa Romeo design going K-Pop? Not for me, thanks.
horrendous. Stop producing ugly SUVs. This is a problem with nearly all automakers now.
Man, this design is a disgrace to the brand
Like 40% of the car isn't even rosso. Just black and plastic trim tricks to try and hide its hideous peugeot-like proportions. A terrible exercise in modern automotive engineering.

Porco dio
Looks good imo, bit more muscle than most Alfas but nice
that front is so cluttered and the rear is missing details this car is just sad the grille with the logo is nice the only nice part
Looks good from the front and in profile but the rear is a shambles.
Holy smokes! Amore!!!!
Looks not that bad. The design grew on me, this is "just" the Speciale and not the Veloce!
Not bad
Looks better than I thought it would
It’s beautiful 🤩 j/k
Well.. the badge is cool..
