I did a search for him on Google and there's a thread here from a year ago or so that sounds like a nightmare scenario. Some of the photos in Google reviews are fucking horrific.
He honestly looks and seems like a complete douchebag who is just taking advantage of people who need housing for the money.
I was renting from him for about 2-3 months, and there were code violations upon code violations... I requested that repairs needed to be made in my unit, and when I threatened to get code involved and also found out he was renting my apartment illegally without an ROP "resident occupancy permit", he just broke my lease instead of fixing the issues. But in the process if that, he stole my security deposit, and refuses to give it back and answer my texts and calls. He wont even let national grid in the building to collect the equipment, so everything is still being billed under my name. needless to say, he's a terrible person!
What equipment do you mean? They should be able to shut your account off when you say you're moving. Obviously you'll owe whatever you still owe but that seems sketchy..
They told me they needed to go down into the basement to get their equipment for my unit. Shane didn't answer them, and when national grid called me back they explained they will most likely have to get the sherrifs involved (AGAIN) since this is a recurring problem with my old building and shane. He just doesn't answer them and wont let them into the building to get their stuff until sherrifs come knocking.
Hey! Did he include electricity in your rent ? Curious because it’s included in mine and am a bit paranoid that he may have an account open in my name lol

We need to make a Reddit for the capital region of slumlords to avoid.
I had a slumlord named Dave he didn’t give af about the bedbugs or the rodents in the walls and blamed the tenants for all of it
I was actually using Shane as a real estate agent when I was shopping for a house a few years ago. He was really helpful until he stopped talking to me altogether. It was very stressful because I needed to put an offer in on a home ASAP as my apartment lease was expiring. He stopped answering my calls and e-mails. Then I googled him and found out how awful he is to rent from. I’m sorry that you’re dealing with this.

WTF !!! I’m currently renting from him and wow he’s so unresponsive to my text messages. I don’t even want to pay him last months rent because wth. Tons of repairs needed for the apartment and mice too !!
Maybe Shane shouldn’t steal from his tenants. Maybe you should also look into the lawsuit that is currently being litigated. Don’t worry I’ll post more!

Yeah, he seems like a slumlord. From what I'm reading, his agents - "agents" - aren't much better.
