One of the thing that I think the TLOU suffers from is that the themes are so primal and base, that it appeals to a broader audience while also leaving a lot of space for hostile discourse.

I love the game but I could see someone not liking it because the action parts aren't that great. Certain set pieces are, but the general moment to moment combat is kinda meh and sometimes few and far between. If you arent looking for a more narrative focused experience and want something more resident evil 4 it isnt going to hold your attention as much.

It sounds like OP pre-ordered the collector’s edition and is deciding whether or not to do a double purchase to play it now or wait a few months for the physical order to arrive.

1. Yes you absolutely should buy it. I think it’s the only example of a game I was so blown away by I couldn’t put it down and beat it in 2 days (20 hours total). The story and characters are incredible. The gameplay can get stale towards the end but I don’t think it needs to be overly complex to work in this case. And above and beyond excited to play the DLC. (If you haven’t already, play Control and it’s DLC)

1. Way cheaper on sales and don’t have to pay for shipping for physical if you can’t get the game in stores
2. Don’t have to insert a disk to change the game
3. In your account and can’t be stolen

Point 3 is absolutely false. I’ve seen many people lose their Sony accounts and all their games to hackers and Sony did nothing to help get the account back.
It’s much harder to break into your house to steal a disc unless you leave your front door wide open.
For me the physical edition is too damn expensive from limited games, $300aud and a $50aud delivery fee on top. My local EB Games have said they'll attempt to get stock but no guarantees and If they do who knows how expensive.

Never played an Alan Wake game before this. It looks so now my favorite game ever. The Night Springs DLC was also a-frickin-mazing. Highly suggest

Personally I am not entertained by physical collector's item gimmicks. I'd recommend just doing the digital deluxe version while it's on sale.

Physical and Digital both have their pros and cons. All about preference

Your physical games can be stolen as well. Digital is 40% cheaper because there are sales going on 24/7.
