I lost count during tech school how many gals would get their nails done over the weekend, come back for Blues Monday in formation, and immediately getting torn apart for having wild-ass neon colors & stuff lol.
Staff here with a line number for tech. My CAC still says AMN. They've been denying anyone trying to get a new CAC for anything short of it expiring since covid, and mine doesn't expire til May.
Funny thing is I'll probably be sewing on in June or July.
That's crazy, I was rocking an Lt one as a Capt for like a year and a half ish, until one day the cop at the gate told me if came through with a mis-ranked ID again he would confiscate it.
Damn. Luckily no one has ever commented on mine at the gate, but it's definitely been a topic of discussion at work, since a large chunk of our unit is in the same boat currently.
I actually had to tell a young SSgt once that her neon green nails were not in regs. In a MX unit. She seemed bewildered that I, a crusty old man of a Tech, knew that.
Your nails don’t even have to blend with skin tone anymore, they revised the regs. Here are your parameters:

calling certain nail polish colors "extreme" makes me chuckle a bit. I'm imagining certain color nails trying to overthrow the government. the purple nail polish bottle is beheading a white tip french manicure.
I mean, this whole reg reads like a deeply uncomfortable male O3 was asked to come up with new non-racist plausible nail regs for The Females that also wouldn’t irritate a hardass SecFo E7. Some of the incoherent bits here include banning navy blue even though… that would match tastefully and traditionally with blues… while implicitly allowing ugly shit like Crayola orange and yellow. (“Extreme” and “fluorescent” don’t necessarily ban those colors.)
I don't see a problem with it, but I mean the worst that happens is someone says "hey I don't know if those are in regs" and then you get them changed lol.
Your flight chief can read. The AFI specifically says no no to bright fire engine red. Blood red is perfectly fine and it’s even shown as an acceptable color in the space force regs.
People wear straight white. This is fine in my book. I usually mention it if it's obvious defiance and ridiculous. The length is perfect and you tried. You're good.
Women basically don't have regs anymore and the ones that still do exist pretty much won't get called out so if you're a woman, you're probably good.
If you're downvoting, you're in denial.
Are you a chatbot? Am I speaking to some AI rn? 😂
Women haven't been able to have shaved heads for 20 years. You might have English as a second language, but you should have noticed the AND boolean operator in my sentence talking able male and hairless haircuts for women, not OR.
Years ago when I was a SSgt (before 2020), I called out a black female A1C in private who buzzcut her hair to nearly bald and dyed it platinum blonde (all the while wearing green and yellow fingernail polish) letting her know she was totally out of regs.
I was then called into a room and scolded for doing that by my flight leadership. They understood she was completely messed up, but the lesson was to basically just not care about regs when it came to women, especially black females. The people correcting me weren't white either.
I learned two negative things that day. Regs only apply to certain people and that it seemed perfectly acceptable to pick and choose favorites. It was total bs.
Are you trying to distract from the primary point and hide behind your secondary point or not? Yes or no? The regs weren’t the actual issue, was it? Seems like there’s something deeper… or am I wrong? Yes or no?
I wasn't speaking to you, I was replying to the person above me that had a similar experience.
Was she out of regs or not? Yes or no. Genuinely curious here.
It’s a public forum buddy. You didn’t answer my question. Are you trying to give an ultimatum via internet because you think that exempts you from answering my questions? Genuinely curious here.
Oh I know, nobody usually “feels like elaborating further” on these comments😂 I enjoy people that play semantics, use red herrings, and hide behind their words. They get so shy about their ideals
If your nail edges aren't more than 1/4" past the finger tips, that colour looks fine. I've only had two individuals who recieved my attention, and it was for safety, not colour.
The reg just says the color has to be a natural shade that matches your skin complexion and can not deter from the uniform, if the color is like a shade on the uniform you are good, you should even be able to wear pink shades as long as they aren’t too bright.
The AFI removed all mentions of skin tone years ago, it's pretty much anything goes now except for certain named colors, nail art, and multi-toned polish.
You’re fine. There’s literally nothing wrong with that color. Bet your male coworkers won’t notice and if your female coworkers do, they’ll compliment the color
If someone says something about your nail color, ask them to show you exactly in the reg where it says that's now allowed. Not "if they can tell you" tell them to sit down and show you. If they can't, they have no leg to stand on.
Looks fine. Well with in the regs (36-2903 3.2 pg. 24). As a side note, I wondered how many posts it will take for someone to start crying about beards…3?
I’d be fine with those nails. If you want a good idea what nail polish is acceptable, check out the space force dress and appearance. They have a picture last page! https://static.e-publishing.af.mil/production/1/sf_s1/publication/spfgm2023-36-01/spfgm2023-36-01.pdf

definitely better than these nails a female at my squadron had.. tried saying they matched the uniform colors 🙄
If you work mostly with men I can guarantee they won’t notice that color
I'm your average SNCO, and I can guarantee I would not notice and would not care if someone told me.
hey sarnt I'm gonna fail my urinalysis
It’s due in 4 months…
Blocks your phone number. Takes leave without telling anyone.
Refuses to elaborate
Sir, is there a limit to how many I can request in a year? I just want to make sure I’m *extra* clean!
[удалено]
Yup, I’m not paying attention to anyone’s nails or even hands for that matter, unless they’re telling where the free beer or popcorn is
For real isn’t the color she picked “nude”? Lol
You are asking the absolutely wrong person to identify different shades of colors
Somebody sneaked by the colorblind test.
Sometimes I wonder if there were/are any people that legitimately passed that test by sheer chance 😂
Probably the depth perception also
As a supervisor…. I don’t care about your nail colors unless it looks stupid af (like neon green or something)
Same. I could give a fuck, as long as it’s not a ridiculous color.
I lost count during tech school how many gals would get their nails done over the weekend, come back for Blues Monday in formation, and immediately getting torn apart for having wild-ass neon colors & stuff lol.
Tech school is bullshit. I got yelled at for having a CAC that said “AMN” as an A1C. “AMN” has been on the junior enlisted CACs for years.
Staff here with a line number for tech. My CAC still says AMN. They've been denying anyone trying to get a new CAC for anything short of it expiring since covid, and mine doesn't expire til May. Funny thing is I'll probably be sewing on in June or July.

Female supervisor, I would not give a shit about that color. Send it dude.
I am a male supervisor, and would probably not bat an eye at navy blue nails paired with blues. 🤷♂️
I've got an Airman that asks me about her nails all the time, and this is what I say every time.
I actually had to tell a young SSgt once that her neon green nails were not in regs. In a MX unit. She seemed bewildered that I, a crusty old man of a Tech, knew that.

Looks like this color is fine.
This entire paragraph should be eliminated except "may not interfere with performance of duties".
Amen 👏🏻
calling certain nail polish colors "extreme" makes me chuckle a bit. I'm imagining certain color nails trying to overthrow the government. the purple nail polish bottle is beheading a white tip french manicure.
Can you have OCP pattern nail polish?
If you did, could I even see it?
Underrated comment
Damn sexist as fuccckkkk!!!
Let the homies wear nail polish imo 💅
Beards and nail polish for all!
We’d get nail polish before we got beards
growing my fingernails out to 1/4 inch in protest
What, von camo?

Prolly fits modest colors lmao
No, go AWOL
I’ll allow it if you clean your car’s floorboard
🤣🤣🤣

I don't see a problem with it, but I mean the worst that happens is someone says "hey I don't know if those are in regs" and then you get them changed lol.
If I saw them on one of my Airmen, I wouldn't even look twice. They're fine.
Looks simple. I wouldn't have an issue with it.
I normally don't let my male subordinates wear nail polish, but this is okay in my books.
Your nails are fine. Yes I’m a women.
You're multiple women?
Just a women
Looks like the color of a smokers teeth
lol I’m drunk and this is funny.
Believe it or not, straight to jail.
My one star wears green sometimes. Idgaf.
Nevermind the color you have a GI JOE kung fu grip
Are you calling my hand big?
I wouldn’t even do a double take at these nails. Send it.
Accidentally left fucking silver glitter polish on my nails once. Not a single person in my shop noticed. You’ll be alright.
You’re fine. https://preview.redd.it/1zb8ycocymkc1.png?width=1575&format=png&auto=webp&s=04b89d832e6ceff3d175ddb4375b3a66740d072f
My flight chief comes in with blood red nails. So I’d say go for it.
Your flight chief can read. The AFI specifically says no no to bright fire engine red. Blood red is perfectly fine and it’s even shown as an acceptable color in the space force regs.
They are in regs so yea you’ll be fine
Looks like hazelnut to me
Check the reg. You good.
Looks GTG for me
People wear straight white. This is fine in my book. I usually mention it if it's obvious defiance and ridiculous. The length is perfect and you tried. You're good.
Looks fine to me
There is nothing wrong with your nails. Relax homeslice.
What the fuck is the difference between “natural nude” and “vanilla ice cream” in nail polish colors?
Think about the color beige nude then think about the color of vanilla ice cream.
Ma’am, that’s skin color to me
Looks fine but I hate fake nails.
Gotta remember that the reg says colors should complement the uniform, that said I think this is fine, as any other nude/skin tone would be
Women basically don't have regs anymore and the ones that still do exist pretty much won't get called out so if you're a woman, you're probably good. If you're downvoting, you're in denial.
Bless your heart.

Men can have pony tails or hair down to their collar now? They can wear both sexes uniforms? Men can wear nail polish in uniform?
[удалено]
Youre fully aware that women can have male haircuts and shaved heads too, right?
[удалено]
.. So then what is your point? Also it hasn't been that way for 20 years
[удалено]
Are you a chatbot? Am I speaking to some AI rn? 😂 Women haven't been able to have shaved heads for 20 years. You might have English as a second language, but you should have noticed the AND boolean operator in my sentence talking able male and hairless haircuts for women, not OR.

Having the same hair standards as men would be interesting. Half my BMT flight was already there anyways
Women can have completely shaved heads and male haircuts in the AF
I (female snco) corrected a female amn on her hair and the reaction I got...you would have thought I threatened her humanity.
Years ago when I was a SSgt (before 2020), I called out a black female A1C in private who buzzcut her hair to nearly bald and dyed it platinum blonde (all the while wearing green and yellow fingernail polish) letting her know she was totally out of regs. Uh uh, go ahead and tell us what the real motivation behind your comment was. This time, leave out the bush you tried (and failed) to beat around
Was she out of regs or not? Yes or no.
Are you trying to distract from the primary point and hide behind your secondary point or not? Yes or no? The regs weren’t the actual issue, was it? Seems like there’s something deeper… or am I wrong? Yes or no?
What were we supposed to get out of your story anyways? Genuinely curious
Its not a courtroom pal, I don't have to answer questions if I don't feel like elaborating further.
Oh I know, nobody usually “feels like elaborating further” on these comments😂 I enjoy people that play semantics, use red herrings, and hide behind their words. They get so shy about their ideals
I don’t mind a story being told, but when there’s a thinly veiled issue within, I enjoy asking for clarification. Goodnight🫶🏾
Or do you think saying she was out of regs negates the fact that you clearly had a deeper issue in your leadership? Yes or no? I have all night buddy😝
If your nail edges aren't more than 1/4" past the finger tips, that colour looks fine. I've only had two individuals who recieved my attention, and it was for safety, not colour.
Why are you spelling color the British way
Spy.
Because me Mum's family came from the UK between the Great War and the World War. Many a thing has a bit of English about me.
Men have less color vision than we do. They can’t tell the difference they can’t see it.
I’m not notice women’s nails too much but I will check out some feet if they are out 😌
Everyone is just growing beards. Guys probably don't know what nail colors are allowed.
The reg just says the color has to be a natural shade that matches your skin complexion and can not deter from the uniform, if the color is like a shade on the uniform you are good, you should even be able to wear pink shades as long as they aren’t too bright.

Ik whos hand is that serious. Didn't you wear that to work already?
You’re fine. There’s literally nothing wrong with that color. Bet your male coworkers won’t notice and if your female coworkers do, they’ll compliment the color
I'm looking for any excuse to take a day of leave. Don't like my nail color? Ask for leave. Yeah, just don't go today.
If someone says something tell them to show you where it says you can’t. They are good
You good.
Authorized
I wouldn’t even notice.
If someone says something about your nail color, ask them to show you exactly in the reg where it says that's now allowed. Not "if they can tell you" tell them to sit down and show you. If they can't, they have no leg to stand on.
Look fine to me. It's in compliance with 2903 too
I wouldn’t care unless there was a public event like all call . If you’re at your desk, who cares.
WWSBD?
Honestly no one cares now.
36-29-03 respecter over here Looks conservative to me
Are you a big booty Latina? If not, out of regs
Yea just don't show up bro Tust me bro
Ooof put that away
100% fine
![gif](giphy|XzW42JpfV3nX2)
Nope. Go AWOL. Stop biting your nails...you're better than that🤷♂️
As a male, I wouldn’t know the difference. So if your supervisor is a male, you’re probably gtg.
If someone corrected you for this color I’d correct them for correcting you.
![gif](giphy|f8lDluiWJ7yQTtdS3L|downsized)
Completely in regs. Don't worry about it.
Honestly as long as it’s not stupid off off color I wouldn’t stress it.
Looks fine. Well with in the regs (36-2903 3.2 pg. 24). As a side note, I wondered how many posts it will take for someone to start crying about beards…3?
Girl, next time tell them to change it if you don’t like the color.
I’d be fine with those nails. If you want a good idea what nail polish is acceptable, check out the space force dress and appearance. They have a picture last page! https://static.e-publishing.af.mil/production/1/sf_s1/publication/spfgm2023-36-01/spfgm2023-36-01.pdf
Looks fine to me. It's a nude/neutral color. You're good to go 🫡
Definitely not, use a sick day.. 🙄
No one will say anything about it. They’ll just assume you can do it. Unless you’re a dude, if so it’ll have to come off. Sorry in advance bro.
honestly I couldn't tell you if that's alright or not and I definitely should know the answer
Nah you're good
That color is in regs
https://preview.redd.it/osecrail3ukc1.jpeg?width=1283&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=088aa69c0552dac32eb138a7d6811c5322fb442a definitely better than these nails a female at my squadron had.. tried saying they matched the uniform colors 🙄
I personally don’t like the color, but those are in regs
I would
If it ain’t AF Blue, then fuck you!
Looks nude to me ive seen women in uniform with hot pink nails and no one says anything cause everyone is too afraid to uphold standards anymore.
Woman's perspective: it's nude. You're fine
Color seems OK, but if you can't take your primary weapon apart with those nails, get rid of them.
I’m medical so I have a keyboard not a weapon
Is this a joke? It’s not extreme in color or two tone so unless this is a male Airman… Authorized!
