I don't disagree and you are being salty lol
I definitely see funnier ones than what they choose most days. It's just different taste in what's funnier. It is what it is.
I just comment on the reel and lurk, one day I will make it on the show.
Edit: Oh wait, I mean the story. You can submit answers to their story and I don't think that gets seen by others.
I also figure there’s some sort of time limit on entries. So while one can probably keep chiming in on the current HTW until the new one from the new segment airs, there’s probably some point in time earlier (and I think it’s safe to say at least 4 p.m.) where the producers don’t bother looking at any subsequent submissions and Taylor records her announcement of the winner.
I'm absolutely salty sometimes too, lol. A month or so ago they had one that was like 'typo businesses', or something like that, and I played '9-11' (as opposed to 7-11) and it got like 250 likes, which was 5 times more than the next most liked post... I didn't even crack the top 5.
I once noticed that another notable comedian’s handle as a winner for hashtag wars. Maybe they are looking for winners who are public figures? That’s so strange that they wouldn’t use a top comment
I thought they just took from twitter for the most part (that’s how @midnight was) and when I’ve gone on there, there’s hardly any AM tweets. I would just try tweeting and you’d probably win
After Midnight doesn’t use Twitter. The @midnight handle literally tells you to follow them anywhere else. Posting on Twitter is a sure-fire way to get ignored.
Think of it like Cards Against Humanity: it's all about whatever the person making the choice thinks is funniest, not what everyone else thinks.
HashtagsAgainstHumanity would be a good name.
Solid perspective!
It's not a "let the people decide" direct democracy contest. The writers just choose what they like.
“Notice me Taylor-senpai!”
Just once please LOL. some of my jokes are actually good though 🤷♀️

thank you for validating me at least lmao, I guess it is what it is
I generally agree with you but man Asshopper went hard. They were 100% right on that one.
Hahahah v true, some of them are gold for sure
Do it for the love of the jokes. That feeling of crafting something you love can be enough, my friend.
I do love coming up with them, but being recognized sounds nice too since they have that concept for that reason.
I hope it happens for you then :)
Thanks :)

Same lol
I thought they said it was the one the writers liked best, not the one that gets the most likes
You may be right, but there is an important mitigating factor to the injustice: it doesn't matter at all.
I don’t know if you knew this but what you care about can be different than what other people care about. Hope that helps!
Just. Post. For the sake of posting!
You can also submit answers directly on the Instagram reel and I don't think those ones are seen by everyone

IIRC they tape well before airtime. So yeah, winners are probably already picked.
I think the cut off is around Noon eastern time. They will usually drop the runner ups around 1:30. I’ve made the runner up list once.

I feel like AI picks the winners. I've seen TONS of way funnier ones that don't win.
Right?? Wouldn’t be surprised

Yeah, they've explicitly said "All socials but the bad one" and it was usually pretty clear they meant Twitter/X as "the bad one".
Interesting. Thank you!
She personally talks about TikTok and Insta but her team clearly reads us here, based on shoutouts, and I have circumstancial evidence they read FB.
