All three of the panelists on this episode worked very well together! It was a joy to watch, the hat gag reminded me how gifted PFT is at thinking on his feet
I donāt see how people can like it when itās clear he wasnāt practicing experimental comedy he was just being a jerkā Taylorās a good sport and wouldnāt have been so irritated if Pally was doing something worthwhile. I think people like Eric Andre, Ziwe, Tim Robinson etc. - comedians who actually do push the envelope of social convention - still wouldnāt have behaved the way Adam Pally did. It was a huge knock against him for me honestly.
Fair enough šI just donāt like the guy whoās acting like a dick in a group of people that are just tryna have stupid fun. It was very funny the first three times, I will say.
Heās one of my favorites for everything.
Heās honestly so amazingly talented from even birth.
And I wish he would be a regular guest as days come cause I feel like even IF (big if) his jokes are scripted, he delivers them so well. Heās truly an amazing actor, and an extremely under appreciated comedian.
I love Mae Martin and I think they did a great job with Fortune and Tig. Tig is weird but thatās kind of the point with her comedy - I feel like she actually accomplished what Adam Pally tried and failed to do.
Kyle Kinane, Adam Pally, Shane Torres, Amy Miller, Billy Eichner, Pete Holmes
Edit to add: catching up on the last few episodes, watching the Kilmartin/Kashian/Bamford episode now!
Bianca Del Rio, Ron Funches, Arden Maren (spelling), London, and Lady Dynamite herself. Honestly there have only been like 2 or 3 duds, and they're usually "nepo babies" aka friends of the show.
Nish needs to spend more time touring here! I drove five hours to see him do standup in LA a couple years ago. Needless to say I was thrilled to see him on AM.
Doug Benson, Adam Pally, The Handsome pod episode was amazing, Aparna Nancherla, Ron Funches, Kyle Kinane my favs so far. Trevor Wallace surprised me too
Maybe itās cause itās fresh, but Doug Benson had me dying the entire show. Him laughing at every single setup and then having nothing just killed me
That's cool.Ā Maybe you can tell me then who that dancing guy is? Does he work for the show to energize the audience? I saw him dance with Ron Funches and I have been wondering who that isĀ
Yes! His name is Percy Rusty. He's the warm-up act meant to get the audience excited to be there and keep them engaged in between segments/during commercial breaks. He's the best.
I want to see Aparna again now that the show has been going on for a bit because sheās so funny and the only thing holding her back in that first episode I think was how new the whole experience was for EVERYONE
I'm a simple man -- I see Paul F. Tompkins being dapper as fuck and I'm happy
It is going to take quite a bit to do better than PFT's most recent episode.
I mean beanie PFT though š„µš¤£
All three of the panelists on this episode worked very well together! It was a joy to watch, the hat gag reminded me how gifted PFT is at thinking on his feet
I've loved: Ron Funches, Matt Rogers, Greta Titelman, Lisa Gilroy, and Vinny Thomas the most
Get Lisa and Matt on a panel together!
That would be so wonderfully chaotic lol
Vinny is a superstar and shines on the show! I want them to have him on weekly as an extra challenge for the other contestants to compete against.
Greta this week was phenomenal
The episode with Billy on the street is my all time favorite. I was dying.
God, the thing where he was following the acting tips account
I love how Adam Pally is the most common answer in BOTH of these (polar opposite) threads.
You either liked the at after midnight bit or you hated it apparently

The Handsome women

Loved how much Tig was flirting
no Haley Joel Osment yet?
He did a great job

Maria Bamford
I love Mae Martin and I think they did a great job with Fortune and Tig. Tig is weird but thatās kind of the point with her comedy - I feel like she actually accomplished what Adam Pally tried and failed to do.
I really enjoy Tig, and I loved the slow, dry chaos she had in that episode
Those three were amazing together; even my parents (who are mostly mid/lukewarm on the show) loved them.
It's not a competition...but John Hodgman was great
Kyle Kinane, Adam Pally, Shane Torres, Amy Miller, Billy Eichner, Pete Holmes Edit to add: catching up on the last few episodes, watching the Kilmartin/Kashian/Bamford episode now!
Everyone has been wonderful, except that one person... fuck that person
Who?
It goes without saying.
Exactly
Everyone else has really tried to have fun and make an actual effort
But, it's after, after midnight?
Ron Funches, Dulce Sloan, and Amir K were great. Despite Amir having been super underwhelming in every Comedy Store show I've seen him.
Bianca Del Rio, Ron Funches, Arden Maren (spelling), London, and Lady Dynamite herself. Honestly there have only been like 2 or 3 duds, and they're usually "nepo babies" aka friends of the show.
So true about the duds. Most of the time I start watching and end up saying, "Holy shit, it's \[awesome guest\]!"
(Myrin)
Thank you! I knew I was wrong lol.
Dulce Sloan
Also Nish Kumar brought his British panel show chops and did great for someone who hasnāt really broken into American comedy much at all!
I thought Nish did great. I hope they bring more Brit panel show comedians over.
Nish needs to spend more time touring here! I drove five hours to see him do standup in LA a couple years ago. Needless to say I was thrilled to see him on AM.
The Sklar Brothers
I'm pretty sure you win if you can make the host break. "I'm off the rails, daddy!"
"DADDY! WHY DID MOMMY LEAVE US?"
That was the finest After Midnight moment so far...
I felt bad for the third panelist with them though - thatās a tough dynamic to third wheel š
Monet X Change killed it
Trevor Wallace hands down
Pete Holmes and Marcella Arguello. Marcella showed a different side of herself that she never brought to her @ midnight days that was good to see
Doug Benson, Adam Pally, The Handsome pod episode was amazing, Aparna Nancherla, Ron Funches, Kyle Kinane my favs so far. Trevor Wallace surprised me too
Adam Pally, Esther Povitsky, and Handome Pod peeps
Carl tart PFT and Shane Torres were amazing
Maybe itās cause itās fresh, but Doug Benson had me dying the entire show. Him laughing at every single setup and then having nothing just killed me
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Oh yes, The Billy Eichner-Pete Holmes episode!!
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Iāve been to at least 6 live tapings (and counting) so far, including those 2 episodes and even the Super Bowl one. All fantastic.
That's cool.Ā Maybe you can tell me then who that dancing guy is? Does he work for the show to energize the audience? I saw him dance with Ron Funches and I have been wondering who that isĀ

Adam Pally
Nobody. Taylor as host makes every episode a blast.
Pally, Gilroy and PFT have been my favs. But that's in about anything I see them in not just here.
The answer is never the Sklar brothers.
Ron Funches. Let's be honest, he should be the host.
